Visited churn after looking at the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Tried the double scoop with one scoop of Vietnamese coffee and the other being butter pecan- both were amazing! Got whipped cream as a topping to add to the taste... Also tried the malted milk chocolate which was yummy but butter pecan won over for me. The Vietnamese coffee was the top favorite flavor for me and my husband. The only reason I'm giving less stars here is because when I checked their online menu they had so many amazing and out of the box flavors showing up which I was really looking forward to try but they barely had 6-8 ice cream flavors to choose from at the store - whatever flavor I tried were without a doubt amazing for sure! Churn is toward the top of my list in the Phoenix area so far, bc of their unique flavors that don't sound ridiculous/terrible AND they've got a decently creamy, buttery consistency (though I wish it were creamier and velvetier!). The shop itself literally makes me feel like a fat kid in a candy store, partly bc of all the retro vibes, and bc they also sell candy...and other goodies/novelty toys. For a tiny shop, you sure can spend a crap load of money here. My toddlers go nuts over this place. Employees (for the most part), are peppy and sweet and they genuinely seem happy to give out samples. The most memorable flavors I've had are: - butter pecan - chocolate - Vietnamese coffee - cookies and mint - carrot cake It's ALL been good and it tastes like they use high quality ingredients. On top of the classic cone options, they even have a fun pretzel cone that's pretty unique and yummy. There's a couple tables and chairs out front (and a shared dining area in the back with the neighboring restaurant). But beware: during their peak times (i.e. after dinner/Fri-Sat nights) the line can get pretty freaking long and limited seating can get ugly since the shop is small. read more

I had high hopes since many people would hype this place up but when I went I wasn't impressed. Personally what you get for the price point is not worth it in my opinion. We paid a little over $14 for the s'more sundae and strawberry shortcake sundae. First they didn't have the chocolate for the s'mores sundae so I had to substitute that. It came with one scoop of ice cream and a heaping of marshmallow fluff with one graham cracker broken in half. I did like that they toasted the fluff. Nothing wowed me from it. I've had better. Now for my husband's strawberry shortcake sundae. It was a flop. The "cake" was dry, hard, and almost old. It was as if they left it sitting out all day. You needed that ice cream to help get the cake down. The strawberries were hard and frozen and neither of us were a fan of that. We wish they would put fresh strawberries instead. They didn't put enough of the strawberry drizzle. What you see in the picture is all that was put on it. Again it was only one scoop of ice cream used. Honestly it's was an okay experience. The employees were friendly but were rushing us and the people before us. What a cute little ice cream shop!! The staff was informative and helpful. The menu is easy to read. We entered through the backside from Windsor and the staff kindly let us know that the line went outside. There was 1 couple in front of us and we stayed inside in the cool air. The staff was attentive and was happy to be at work. Great attitude/atmosphere. While waiting to order, the store has several types of candy placed for viewing/purchasing in case you want to enjoy with your treat. It's a small shop had a few parking on the back. Me and wife were craving for some desserts and we looked up this place had good reviews so we went there. The flavors we have tried was malted milk chocolate it was so good, Thai ice tea ice cream didn't like it much, butter pecan was good and my wife is all over pecan (hehe) and lastly Vietnamese coffee it's really good but didn't had that creamy texture compared to others and I found it little more sweet than others. So we ended up taking two scoops one of butter pecan and one Vietnamese coffee. To be honest, I wanted to like this place more because of the good reviews. However, I was quite disappointed about the small number of flavors to choose from, and they didn't sound that great either. Maybe it was just the night that we went. It was an ok first experience here, but I'd be willing to give it another chance and check out if they've switched the flavors around. Churn shares a space with the restaurant Windsor. They share a parking lot but it is quite small, so it can be challenging during busy times. After I went to Little Miss BBQ, I decided that I needed some ice cream. I had this bookmarked and decided to have some dessert. It was bomb! I walked in and looked over the menu real quick. It was a tough choice between the "Smores Sundae" or the "Rocky Road Lil Freezie". While I was looking at the menu, the voice of Sloth in The Goonies popped into my head....... "Rocky Roooooaadddd". That was it. I ordered a Rocky Road Lil Freezie. This creation came with 2 (possibly more) scoops of ice cream, it was stuffed full of chocolate covered almonds and then topped with some marshmallow fluff. They constructed my ice cream and then at the very last minute they bust out the blow torch to toast my marshmallow. They handed over the goods and here is how it was................. Rocky Road Lil Freezie- This thing was great! They give you a huge scoop of marshmallow and then toast it for you. This is placed upon 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream and then its mixed in with chocolate covered almonds. The almonds were almost like an almond bark. They were really delicious! They blend it up like a concrete/blizzard and then hand it over. I will come back the next time I am allowed to eat ice cream ;-) and try out some of their other stuff. Ice cream i have put in my sandwiches include: pumpkin, butter pecan (one of my faves ! Can't go wrong with this one), and their goat cheese honey pistachio ( also a favorite of mine and a seasonal one! I've been having a thing for goat ice cream since I've tried it in Seattle ). So the cool thing is you can mix and match anything. You don't have to have the same to cookies and choose whatever ice cream you want! Other things I've tried here, is their freezes! Very good!
