update: I couldn't wait and ate the Sweet Corn and Ube flavors in the car and i'm addicted. I tried the London Earl Grey and it was so good , perfectly soft and chewy, light, and not overly sweet. The Earl Grey flavor came through really nicely without being overpowering. I liked it so much that we ended up ordering one of every flavor to go after. The interior is super charming, and the owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Such a cute spot with a really warm feel. You can tell they put a lot of thought into everything. read more

If your thinking of trying out this place, I would definitely suggest you go! The service was excellent and super helpful. They also offered a free sample when we walked in which I loved. The decor and environment was very unique and super cool. Now on to the food and drinks, we got 3 donuts total as well as a banana milk and Ube latte. We really enjoyed each donut, I personally loved the chocolate earl grey donut because I'm a huge earl grey fan. My boyfriend really enjoyed the Ube donut as well. My latte didn't have a super strong flavor which is expected because Ube isn't a very strong flavor. However, the coffee its self tasted very high quality and was great. Overall, would definitely come back and recommend trying this place out! read more

When it's open and I'm next door, I always have to grab a little sweet treat here to pair with my tea! I am a simple person, and I typically opt for the powdered sugar or the churro and they always hit the spot. This specific day was cute because they were celebrating their anniversary so they had a fun picture station and a promo on their boxes. I love the vibes in here, very clean and open, but definitely a to-go spot as there is no seating at all. The service is always so great, the staff are an absolute delight, and offer lots of free samples to try! My only thing is that their hours seem to be quite limited, I'm always here when they're closed, so I think they close quite early. read more

I love mochi donuts! I wish more places made them cuz they are my favorite type of fried dough. We were next door getting boba and I wanted to pop in and see what flavors they had. We had the place to ourselves and I perused their display case. They had some interesting flavors and I only wanted 3, but their menu prices reflected 6 or 12 ($18 and $30 respectively). I asked if 3 would be $9, and the employee said yes. I chose their ube, Vietnamese coffee, and black sesame with raspberry. Other flavors included gochujang caramel, almond joy, churro, and blueberry crumble. It was hard choosing flavors cuz they all sounded great. I was rung up for 3 single donuts ($3.50 ea) and asked if that was correct. The employee said yes, as only the half dozen and dozen are discounted. I was tempted to get another 3 donuts but decided against it. We sampled the donuts after finishing our early dinner and the texture was spot on: light, chewy, and delicious. They're so fun and easy to eat too; you can pick off the balls and share them (if you want). Each of the toppings should differentiate the tastes, since the donut base is the same, but honestly none of them had strong flavors which was disappointing. The black sesame seeds did were the most flavorful, but not all of the balls had the seeds on them. Since I enjoy these donuts so much, I'd come back again, although not too often due to the price point. read more

They have a lot of flavors: Ube, sweet red bean, raspberry dark chocolate, pumpkin horchata, black sesame cheesecake, banana pudding. The mochi donut is soft and exactly what you expect from a mochi donut. The flavor comes from the frosting. The black sesame gives a little bit of a crunch to the topping as seeds would do. read more

Second time here, better than mochinut by far, atmosphere is so nice and calm. And the donuts are crazy good. Had fun flavors, and I think they switch it out once in a while? The worker and the owner (?) were so nice and personable, they were completely unbothered that I came in right when they opened. Store was clean and they have some bottled asian drinks and well as merch and nick nacks for sale. Came to get my boyfriend a bday treat, it's not cheap so it's a great gift to bring and the presentation is adorable! I'll be making this a regular spot read more

They're good BUT they are always closed whenever I feel a hankering for a donut. I have stopped by randomly whenever I am in the area and they're always closed except for those few blissful times. What can I say other than perfection! The perfect balance or light, airy, sweet, crisp, and doughy! I have been 2x and both times have been great. The quality is consistent and the owner is very kind, giving me a sample of the Ube flavor doughnut which wasn't my initial flavor choice but I hav now gotten it both times. Pictured is my mom who is very picky and loved the Vietnamese Coffee flavor. The first time I went I only got 1 doughnut which was supposed to be for my daughter as I'm not much of a sweets person. I ended up thinking I would take just a bite and that was a mistake because before I knew it I didn't have a doughnut left to give her! The doughnuts are fried in beef shortening which gives them a full rich flavor. They are not greasy and ever so fluffy for being mochi! I can't recommend this place enough. Even if sweets are not your thing, you will be pleasantly surprised as to the balance these doughnuts have. I'm a fan and will always make a point to stop by when I'm in town. read more

My friends brought mochi donuts over this past weekend and I've had mochi donuts before but these ones are probably the freshest I've had! We tried the ube, calamansi, genmaicha, lychee and banana foster. The ube and calamansi are Filipino flavors and they are absolutely mouth wateringly delicious! The genmaicha flavor was not as strong but it was still good. Banana foster didn't have as much banana flavoring to it but it's good that it isn't overpowering. However, the lychee tasted awful like perfume. That was super unpleasant cause I've had other baked goods with lychee flavoring and it was never this yucky. I did go back to the store and tried the carrot cake and that definitely was delightful! I would just say that the price per donut of $3.75 in the store which is not like on their website which I think was $2 and some change... is pretty pricey! Granted if you get more it's cheaper but like half a dozen for $20 is insane hahaha Delicious but pricey and I'd say still try it if you haven't! The texture of a mochi donut is heaven! read more

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a super energetic and friendly employee who immediately made me feel welcome. The shop was incredibly clean and aesthetically pleasing, creating a great first impression. Since it was my first visit, they took the time to explain all the flavors and how everything is made fresh daily. They were very informative, personable, and genuinely kind. I ordered three flavored donuts that happened to be seasonal, and they were absolutely incredible! You could really taste the freshness, and they stayed fresh throughout the entire day. Mochidot Donut hit the craving out the ballpark!!! I'm already contemplating going back again today! Highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Not sure how I had never had a mochi donut before, but this place was the best and worst place to go for my first time. Best because of HOW UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS AND FRESH THEY WERE! And worst! Because I live over A THOUSAND MILES AWAY and can't go here on the regular and also no other mochi donut will be able to compare!! :( I'm not sure if I was speaking to the owner, but he was giving owner vibes and was so nice and naturally customer service friendly. Building an authentic relationship with their customers. Really loved visiting this shop. Their merch is so cute too! Unfortunately sold out of everything in my size. They are that cute! * French toast * strawberry cheesecake? * white chocolate coconut * churro * pistachio * ube Loved them all but most especially the churro and pistachio! read more

Wonderful mochi donuts! This was my introduction to mochi donuts and boy was I spoiled. The light and airy texture in addition to the satisfying chew of the donuts make them extremely addictive. My favorites were the Uber Uber and Churro. I also like the Chocolate mint when I am craving something not too sweet but chocolatey. Super cute store and the owner was really helpful, attentive, detailed and friendly. They also carry adorable gifts and cards also. So happy to see them at the Matsuri Festival. SO yummy! We came here randomly today since we were craving something sweet. This shop is super cute -- very minimalistic and offers some super cute items! Stickers, candles, long-sleeved shirts and more! We tried ube, caramel coffee, strawberry matcha and key lime pie. So far, we have tried the Ube and caramel coffee -- both were so good! Mochi donuts have this chewy, light texture that really makes these shine brighter than any other donuts. We were also a fan of the assortment of flavors offered. Service was fast. The shop was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Will definitely be back when our sweet tooth sings again! read more

Stopped in while visiting Phoenix and was pleasantly surprised. I tried several mochi donut flavors, including Gojuchang, Vietnamese coffee, almond joy, Ube, churro, blackberry sesame seed. Each one was fresh, chewy, and packed with great flavor without being overly sweet. The texture was exactly what I was hoping for, and the variety made it hard to choose a favorite. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the shop was clean and inviting. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. These donuts are perfection. I had never had a mochi doughnut before, but I had heard people rave about them. I can't believe I slept on it for this long. But instead of regretting things I missed out on in the past I am launching headfirst in the future by enjoying not only their incredible seasonal delicacies such as the everything bagel mochi dot and staples such as the Ube donut. I didn't know a doughnut could taste this way. If you like perfectly crispy on the outside while being fluffy and soft on the inside and an ever so slight chewiness, this donut is for you. You get all the great qualities of a doughnut without the excessive doughiness. A breath of fresh air that almost melts in your mouth. But there really is no surprise once you talk to the ownership. What we're dealing with here is an artist who chose their medium as a breakfast pastry. You need to be aware that all of the small details that add up to a perfect whole have been meticulously thought out and crafted beforehand through trial and error. The authentic recipes and attention to detail are a direct reflection of the visionaries behind the restaurant and if you're lucky enough to catch them during a slow moment, chatting with the food artists accentuates the overall experience even more. It must be emphasized that the recipes are something that would make anyone feel at home (even Japanese locals based on the moving stories the owner told us). The service and ambience was beyond compare. The owner walked us through every single flavor that they had and some of the inspiration that went behind it. In conclusion, do yourself a favor, put down the phone, and pick up a doughn at Mochidot Donuts. read more

Mochi Donuts have become my new favorite dessert obsession! I absolutely love this place and am so excited to know there's one in Phoenix. The owner mentioned that they switch their flavors every month, and they usually don't return flavors so if you find something you like, you gotta try it while it lasts! I love that everything is made fresh in house, with quality ingredients. Everything was so unique and great, and I love the consistency of mochi donuts. This month I tried the Cookies and Cream mochi donut and churro mochi donut and both were delicious. Churro is my go to, but I also love a mochi donut with some frosting on the top like the cookies and cream which was delicious. These flavors are only available in April so get them while they last! The ambiance Inside is so cute, and the owner is super friendly. I love coming here and will now be a frequent flyer! read more

Stopped here on a whim from the friendly owner handing out samples and I'm glad I did. I've had mochi donuts before so thought Mochidot was like the other places. I was dead wrong! These donuts are dangerous and addicting. I only bought one and now I want to come back ASAP! It's hard to pin point why it's so much better than their peers but the quality of the donut is terrific. Everything tastes freshly made from the perfectly chewy dough and glazes. (Ube glaze was amazing and not rock hard from being left out like the other places) Definitely check them out! (My wife pointed out that they have a cool little store inside as well with Asian themed gifts. Another note I remembered was the owner said he had a rotating list of flavors made in smaller batches so every donut really shines) read more

Mochidot Donuts - Ube mochi donuts - Donuts Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Mochidot is the only Mochi donut vendor in Phoenix! The next closest is in Scottsdale! Their mochi donuts are perfectly crispy on the outside and beautifully chewy on the inside! The flavors are spot on! We've had the Ube, black sesame, matcha, churro, mango, Apple cardamom and cookies & cream. They've all been spectacular. Our daughter doesn't usually like mochi donuts ( though she LOVES regular mochi) because she says that "they're always soggy!" (I think many of the other chain/franchise mochi donut shops have this problem with their donuts, she's responding to that.) BUT, daughter makes an exception for Mochidot! There is something about their cooking process that results in the perfect texture, and daughter appreciates it! Interestingly, having spoken to the owners at length, they made the decision to open their own original mochi donut shop instead of franchising from other well-known brands b/c they wanted more freedom and believed they had a better process. While this made opening their business much more difficult, we, their customers, are really benefiting from their decision. They can tweak recipes, choose their own rotating flavors and change their prep and cooking process to get exactly what they want. Refusing to relinquish autonomy was a risky move in this economy, but they believed in their product and its paid off! Also, 90% of the time, we are greeted by the owner(s) when we visit and they are 2 of the sweetest, hardest working people you will ever encounter. They're also always looking to improve and asking what we like/don't like and what flavors we would like to see next. Customer service is top notch! Pro-tip: on weekends they sell mochidonut holes! And they are filled! In October 2023, they had a red bean filling and this month, I think it's a custard? I haven't tried these yet, but they are next on my list!! The shop is cozy, with a sweet, pink and clean aesthetic. Sometimes there is some seating outside, but none inside. read more

If you haven't tried this mochi donut spot yet you need to! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner himself, which instantly made the experience feel personal and welcoming. He took the time to chat with me about the ingredients they use (all made in-house!) and you could immediately tell how much love and pride he pours into every aspect of the business. It wasn't just a sales pitch. It was passion. The donuts? Unreal. Crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside with that signature mochi bounce. The flavors rotate, and every single one I tried was creative, fresh, and balanced, but not overly sweet, just right. You can tell nothing here is mass-produced or rushed; it's all crafted with care. You leave not just with a box of amazing donuts, but also feeling like you supported something meaningful. A local business with heart. Can't wait to come back and try the next batch of flavors! read more

Mochidot makes their mochi donuts fresh every day! We had proof because they were baking a batch of black sesame donuts as we were ordering. Obviously I had to try the black sesame right away, and oh my goddd the dough was so soft with the perfect amount of chew. And the black sesame flavor was out of this world!! It definitely hit all of the nutty, warm notes of black sesame. I also had the ube donut which was delicious as well. It was sweeter than the black sesame with a more subtle ube flavor. The service was fantastic and the employee helping us gave us a full background of the store and answered all of our questions. The inside of the store is super cute and aesthetic, but there aren't any seats inside. I would definitely recommend stopping in! We have been to Mochidot three times already and they have delivered each and every time. I end up with a 1/2 dozen each time, love trying all of the flavors. Texture is chewy and delicious. I love how mochi donuts aren't overly sweet, but they are dangerous because you want to eat more of them. My favorite thus far has been the key lime pie and maple butter bacon! Staff is always very friendly and inside is well kept and clean. I love the giant quote they have on the wall. 2 things I wish were different: First, they don't have a phone number so you cannot contact them about what donuts are available, since they sometimes sell out. I tried messaging on instagram and no response, nor do they post updates on their socials. Second, they offer preorder pick up online, but only for a full dozen and not for a half. Meanwhile they only offer 6 donut flavors at a time, so you would think they would give you both options. My recommendation is to go earlier in the day so you have all the options available, since you can't reach them otherwise. read more
