Whenever I'm traveling on my own, donuts seem to be the only thing I actually stop and pick up for breakfast. I was waiting for Zia Records to open in this plaza when I noticed Lucky Donuts in the corner and I just had to come in and get a couple for breakfast. This shop is simple enough where you enter, see a ton of donuts, a case full of drinks, and some other random stuff, but mostly I'm just here for the donuts. The employee working was super freaking friendly and ended up giving me a free donut because I had to wait for literally one minute for her to come up, which is 100% absolutely not a problem at all, but it was super sweet of her anyway. I ended up ordering a glaze crawler and a chocolate frosted donut as well, and I think the free one was maple glazed if I'm not mistaken. All three of the donuts were top notch delicious and I can't think of a single non positive thing to say. Overall, Lucky Donuts might just be a standard donut shop, but top notch service and delicious donuts make this place something special. Hungry? Lucky Donuts got you. read more

One of the most average, no complaints donut shops I've been to. I've been to this location many times and they are consistently a middle of the line donut business. They had a pretty decent variety of donuts available, considering the time I went (3pm on a Monday). That being said, the fruit loop donut I had this time was a bit stale (more so the doughnut, than the cereal). Overall, a perfectly fine stop if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth. Came back to get some HCJ croissants. They were fresh & tasty. The cashier was quick and efficient. Although I didn't get donuts this time, they were well stocked and all looked good. I have been here 3 times and all three times they have been very nice and the quality never fails. They have a good variety of donuts and they are always fresh. I will recommend these donuts . Great donuts! I'm a fan of yeast donuts so I tend to pick those over cake, but I appreciate those too occasionally. I started using the app Too Good to Go, where businesses offer their end of day goods at a discounted price. Less food waste is always a good thing! I reserved my "bag" and headed over on a Wednesday afternoon. The gentleman ringing me up was friendly and efficient as I showed him my order on the app and he filled a box with a dozen assorted donuts. The selection was great and I enjoyed a few flavors including raspberry jelly, chocolate sprinkle, coconut, cinnamon roll, and cinnamon crumb. They were good next day as well. The employee was super friendly and patient while we looked at all their options. It was the weekend before Valentine's Day and they had heart shaped donuts. I had never saw a cherry fritter before so we got one of those, a tiger tail which was beyond humongous lol and a few other donuts. The prices were on point. The flavors for every single donut was great. Each one was fresh and squishy like a raised donut should be! The cherry fritter was so good and I would definitely get that again. My husband and I have been talking about donuts for WEEKS and we never get them, so today was the day! I came here and picked up stuff for us to bring home. Got my husband a caramel cappuccino (it's just from one of those machines they have at the gas stations) and myself an iced coffee with vanilla. My coffee was too sweet, I threw it away. Hooray for small business owners!! I have been going to Lucky Donuts and Bosa (LD) for about 10 years now and love the donuts, as well as the owners since it's gone through three sets of hands. If you live by or around the Thunderbird and I-17 intersection, please try LD for some of the best donuts I have ever eaten. Location, perfect, sometimes difficult to find parking space (end of strip mall), excellent food quality, friendly and quick service (please don't forget to tip because it matters). No pets allowed but service animals okay. The owner is currently working on more ambiance in the shop by painting some areas purple and the artist is painting donuts throughout the store. My absolute favorite are the cronuts, which are three months new to me. Never heard of them before. I've eaten one every day for the past two months (see photo below) and sometimes two. Addictive to me . These go so quickly I call in ahead of time $2.99/ea. LD has breakfast croissants made to order and already made. I've only eaten the ham/cream cheese/jalapeño and ham/cream cheese croissants, but LD has a variety of selections. When I've been lucky enough to see its full display before selling out, the selections are amazing! My very favorite were the Crullers (first owner) iced with orange, blueberry or strawberry frosting, but unfortunately they no longer serve orange and blueberry, only strawberry, maple, chocolate and glazed. There's filled donuts of every flavor when available (someone bought a dozen raspberry filled), blueberry cake glazed (yum), long John's chocolate or maple, red devil cake donuts, plain, glazed, frosted, hub had a decadent croissant filled with chocolate and frosted with chocolate, and there are many more filled croissants as well as plain, as you can see from photos. After being spoiled by some other 5-star donuts in the valley, lucky donuts were decent but I'm not sure I would be running back. However, if I lived really close or someone else wanted to return I would return without issue. One way that the shop stands out from some competitors is the fact that they have a selection of cereal topped donuts among the usual suspects. We tried the captain crunch, fruity pebbles, and m&ms topped donuts among a few standard glazed with icing. While the special toppings were fun, a couple of our donuts seemed a little stale. The overall flavor was there, but the icing is sweeter than some others. Service was friendly but the shop itself was a little haphazard. They are certainly a much better choice than any national chain donut place, I'm just not sure they stuck out as much to me as I would have liked them to. read more
