First visit and it was spectacular! I had drove by this place so many times but never went in. They make the donut fresh in front of you! This is a cool experience as well. Ethan (I think that was his name) was amazing with customer service, he explained everything about the process, answered all my questions and was so helpful with everything! The first time I actually felt like i wanted to give a tip, not forced to give a tip like everywhere does now. This guy works hard and does it with a smile, I was impressed. It's been awhile since I have had a good customer service experience like this- it was refreshing. My daughter got the cereal killer donut and I got an iced Carmel machiatto- made well (it was just the perfect amount of sweet with sugar free syrup options too!). Inside is super colorful and the menu has super clear photos so you know what you are ordering. My daughter loved the wall because she got to color while we were waiting for my coffee. They let visitors color on the wall every month, then take a photo, and then wipe it off so it's fresh for the next month's customers. Overall, great experience and the donut was delicious' we also got to sample the ice cream apple pie (I will totally be back for this).
Solid donuts up in north phx! They are made fresh which is awesome - I love that they are soft and fresh yet crispy from the fryer. Service was great, booths inside are a nice touch! Would skip the ice cream pie tho. We'll be back for the donuts!
These are very, made to order donuts. They also have other options such as donut and cereal shakes and donut/ice cream pie. Fun spot, great for kids, they have a coloring wall!
Still a pretty good donut, but the special ones aren't worth $5 based on the dmsame size for each donut. The Buckeye with peanut butter and added pecans was hot and messy.
Stumbled upon this place during a day trip and couldn't be happier. The staff took their time explaining the menu, the atmosphere was cheerful and welcoming, and the Hummingbird Harry was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
1. Creative - The donuts on their menu are already so creative and delicious you don't even NEEEEEED to give customizations a thought - unless you're like my husband and just love putting your own touch on everything you eat & they will accommodate your customizations. 2. Friendly - The employees are so enthusiastic to be there every time I've gone in. If they're not actually happy to be there, they're faking it well! They're awesome everytime! 3. Atmosphere - It has a local, warm, familiar charm to it that is very inviting! 5/5
Very interesting and fun donut shop. With an eclectic feel and very friendly staff.. they make each cake donut by hand here with unique toppings and flavors. Came in here on a whim and was quite pleasantly surprised. I ordered half a dozen glazed donuts and they were excellent, soft, fluffy and sweet. I certainly look forward to coming back again.
The sweetest staff work here. They were very welcoming and friendly. So many choices with so many glazes, toppings, and drizzles! Go online to decide first or just visit them and staff will help you. I had a powered sugar with raspberry. My friend had a cake donut with sprinkles. There was a slight caramel glaze. I liked that they make it in front of you.
If you are heading along the I17 and need a sugar break, or need to bring a unique dessert dish to bring to your holiday parties..... look no further. Other donut shops have an endless train of donuts sitting around all morning on the shelf which get packaged into a box when you want them. Desert Donuts makes your donuts however you want with their 80+ flavors and made from batter to hand decorated within 3 minutes.
The staff was very friendly and helped to explain the process, as it was our first time there. We got several donuts and a coffee. The donuts are a little smaller than you might expect but being fresh made and still warm elevates them to wonderful status. Great flavors and the coffee was very good as well. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area and want a little something sweet.
I was having an event at work and decided to grab some donuts. There were two people working both were really nice and explained that the donuts were made to order and how the menu worked. I decided to order a dozen plus I got a free one for checking in. It was a little pricey but the price matched the product! They were like little sweet works of art!!! The space was colorful and reminded me of an old school ice cream shop. Every one was hesitant to eat them at first because they were so pretty but after the first one was eaten the rest was history all that was left were a few sprinkles!

Great experience super cute little donut shop definitely worth the hike from central phx area. Hands down the best doughnut shop I've had in the valley heck even this state. They literally have a little of everything. Everything's made fresh they make the dough and everything there it's amazing they support first responders, EMS, and and active military and veterans. Monica B was my baker and if you come in a onesie on Sunday you get a 15% off. They do catering Monica B took her time to go over the menu and gave above and beyond service you can also order ahead on their app or order on one of the food apps read more

This bright, colorful, family-friendly shop has been a staple in the area for many years. They make made-to-order donuts right in of you, so you know they're fresh and toasty! Everyone here is so kind and helpful - plus there's a mural to draw on! The owner is in from time to time with his daughter, otherwise it's often a team of sweet ladies (who also seem to be family) and local teens. They offer several specialty flavors, as well as traditional and choose-your-own. My go-to is maple with Nutella drizzle, but right now they're doing a Pumpkin Spice Powdered Sugar with Carmel Drizzle and pecan pieces. It's really good! The pumpkin spice is mixed into the powder sugar, so it's a nice and mild pumpkin flavor on a very sweet treat! This is a great spot for kids and families! PS: Right now if you go in costume you get a free Halloween donut. read more

Owner is super sweet and down to earth as well as the employee I met while I was there. Not to mention the donuts and coffee are out of this world-- freshest donut I've ever had in my life. Their coffee is locally sourced and delicious and they have such a great sense of community within the store, definitely worth a visit! read more

Decided for donuts and coffee and this place was just a bit around the corner from us. Made fresh with many customs choices. About as close to home made as can be without the mess or overhead. Got classic plain and a delightful raspberry. Was a bit disappointed that while crispy and fresh but too dough in the center. Actually our two donuts were just already made, they should / could have asked us and than made the donut especially since they say fresh and wasn't like their was a crowd. May give them another chance... Wow also a place I can come for a scoop of icecream, read more

What a great concept for a donut shop. Everything is made fresh to order, which was awesome and unexpected. There is so many option from your very basic donuts to more intricate flavors. Customer service was great, super friendly and attentive explained to us how everything worked being our first time. The shop has the cutest donut decor and you can feel it's made with love. We ordered a couple of donuts to try. They do taste fresh and warm. The portion size is great because it's not a lot but also not a little. Overall a great experience, definitely come try one of their donuts. read more

We stopped in here for a treat for my son. Was greeted by a lady that explained the concept to us and helped us. To our surprise the donut was made to order and fresh. They make it right there in front of you. So cool! As we went to sit down, we noticed the wall that she had explained to us that customers can be creative on. Overall, we will be back. Loved this place! Also, they do serve ice cream. read more

These were more like Donettes than what I expected for over 4 dollars a donut. You can see the relative size of the Nutter Butter cookie. They are also cake donuts so are very very sweet. The people who work there are very nice, they just make tiny donuts. :) read more

We enjoyed this quick pop in!! We always make a point to check out new donut shops when we are out of town. This adorable place was a fun shop with a endless list of donuts to choose from! All donuts are made to order so they are all warm and fresh. I got the HOMER and it was perfection. 5/5 Don't laugh but my husband got the glazed. He said it was fantastic and tasted much like a fresh stack of hotcakes. We got in and out and got to use the clean restrooms. If we are ever back that way we will stop by again! read more

Had a great experience at Desert Donuts! Ethan served us and explained the entire menu, had such a great positive personality, and checked in on us when we tried the coffee he had made. Ethan even explained the donuts names and where the personal touch came from. He showed us photos of the owner and overall he just seemed proud to work there. The fresh donuts were a hit but the coffee was out of this world. The cute custom donut themed songs inside the shop were also very adorable. I wish this place was closer to us because this would become a favorite! Might have to drive up to Lake Pleasant just to get a treat every once in a while! read more

Absolutely amazing donuts, made fresh in front of you! WARM & delicious!!! The service was impeccable, we were met at the front counter by one of the sweet employees who explained everything to us as well as gave her input on her favorite flavors. Iced coffee was 5 stars too!!! Prices were great and not too expensive. They also had a washable marker wall in the restaurant that My son loved coloring on. Have lived in AZ for quite some time now and just recently, a little over four months ago, stopped into Desert Donuts and immediately fell in love! The shop itself is very clean and colorful, offering coffee, ice cream, and of course, donuts! The variety of donut flavors and specialty options were HUGE, having something for just about everyone. It was really cool to see a place where all of their donuts are made fresh to order and in front of you, so you're always leaving with warm and fluffy treats. Also was able to meet Mike the owner on one of our visits, a very friendly and super personable guy! 100% would recommend this custom donut shop to anyone looking for a morning pick-me-up, or just a little treat. read more

I'm not really feeling all the hype about this place, but that could be because I don't like all the crazy toppings on donuts. I'm a classic chocolate long John, sprinkles, or Boston cream kind of gal. Lamar's still ranks as best donut in Arizona for me. They are made fresh and come out warm before they are topped. I had the black and white and my mom had the funnel cake, which was the donut of the month. $2.75 each is steep and we both thought they were just ok. read more
