I stopped in to grab a couple donuts to take with me to a meeting I had nearby. I've been meaning to give this spot a try for a long time because I've heard good things about this family owned spot. They didn't disappoint! They had a nice, clean, little store with a wide array of donuts to choose from. It was hard to make a decision! Once I finished agonizing over what I wanted to take to my meeting I got a cinnamon roll, chocolate glazed, regular glazed, and raspberry jelly filled assortment. Meh, fine I guess. I had an apple fritter that was overcooked and pretty skimpy on the apples. "Over fried dough ball" might have been a more apt description. Their selection looked pretty decent otherwise and they've got a lot of kid-friendly stuff. read more

Sun was rising in the east. Fresh scent of donuts greeted me as I entered Original Rainbow Donut. Place has that old school donut shop feel. I found out they have been in operation for 16 years. I notice lots of classic donuts. Prices were also from the old days. Glazed donut was fluffy and sweet. Great tasting classic donut. Apple fritter tasted mostly of sugar. One of the sweetest donuts I've ever tried. Glad I picked the small one. I prefer my apple fritter with 80% less sugar and more apple bits. There were a few pieces of apple but I couldn't taste them through the sugar. Next time I'll have to try a cake donut. read more

You know when you walk in a place and you feel like you shouldn't be there or the awkwardness of the energy from the person behind the counter wants your money but you to go away and let them have their personal space back? That's how I felt here. I asked a few questions being my first time there and I stopped because I could tell the lady couldn't care less about customer service but having me make a choice and move on. With that said. The blueberry fritter, the large cinnamon twist and chocolate twist was very good. But I doubt anything is made in house here and the choices were very limited. The prices were good per donut. I would probably use this place if I lived around this area and needed big donuts but the whole experience would probably direct me to look for other options before repeating business here.
