We were in the area camping at Lake Pleasant and decided to make a foray into town to get some dinner and groceries and saw this little shop. I had seen it on Yelp and at first glance I thought it was a place where you could choose your donut batter and they'd make it fresh for you. I was wrong! Upon entering our family of 5 was very enthusiastically greeted by a young girl (we later found out she was the owner's daughter), who proceeded to give us a tour of their ordering process and answered any questions I had. Turns out that all their donuts are vanilla cake donuts (I'm actually not a fan of that kind--but wait! I'm not done...) and the variety is in the variations of toppings, not in the donut batter like I'd thought. And man, they have it (almost) all! We were going to just get one for each of us, but then it turns out we were there on their Dads for Donuts day--50% all donuts with dad present. So we opted to get 2 for each person, with the intention of one now one later. Ordered 8 donuts for 4 of us, and my youngest isn't a donut fan so he ordered a single scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. His order was made first and it was very impressive in size, so much so that he offered to share with us (and he never does that)! In the meantime, we had to wait a little while as they put together our 8 and to be honest, I wasn't having high hopes. The donuts by themselves weren't very impressive looking and assemblage looked meh. When she gave us our boxes I was pleasantly surprised to feel warm bottoms, and when we got into our car to enjoy the donuts, they looked really good. Then I bit into mine and wow... it was REALLY good!!! The donut was very soft and moist on the inside with a lightly crisp exterior. And the pleasant thing is that the donuts themselves are not overly sweet, which is a nice balance to the toppings. The rest of the family agreed that the donuts were good; some a little too sweet while others just right. Definitely would come back if we're ever up in this corner again. Then it is frosted with your favorite flavor. Now time to build the top take it to heights unimaginable. Outside seating is available during my visit. Their is a small awning over the outside dining, but it's very small. All your health concerns and issues have been taken into consideration here. This is a small business so all your support helps not only the business thrive but keep the area awesome. Many small businesses are abundant in this area. Let's do our part and help them out. This business returns the favor by keeping food delicious, the coffee epic, and come discover some things special for you. Crazy donut concoctions made from scratch. Today was my first time coming in. I've NEVER seen. Custom donut shop before. There are sooooo many different flavors and toppings that can all be mixed and matched to make whatever you want. We ordered six and each one was so incredible!!! The owner threw in two extra since she felt they were a bit smaller than usual.. talk about quality. She was also so kind and patient while explaining how the menu works. We had a chance to chit chat with her and really liked her vibe. We will definitely be back. FRESH HOT DONUTS ARE MADE TO ORDER! yeah, you read that right? What can be more dangerous than that? Talking with the owner of the shop about a place o frequented when I lived in California. That place puts donuts and ice cream together to make a delicious masterpiece. He says to me you gotta minute? I want to make something for you.... We sit down to 6 absolutely delectable donuts and then he brought out a donut ice cream treat that was probably like the best thing I've ever put in my mouth! My only disappointment i have is that I live an hour away....no biggie that just means ROAD TRIP! So, thank you dessert donuts for knocking breakfast out of the galaxy this morning! read more

If you're coming here based on your experience at the location in Colorado, STAY away! If you are having a fantastic day and want to ruin it with horrible customer service while wasting your time and money, make sure to stop here! All around we had an awful experience. Don't advertise that ALL donuts are included in a sale when they are NOT! We will NOT ever return! The owner of this location should head to Colorado to learn how to run a donut shop! Dropping $75 for horrible service along with product that went in the trash is unacceptable! Next time I will walk out of an establishment that gives eye rolls to their customers. I opted for a variety of the customer favorites, but you can do your own customization. This just could be a case of personal preference. But this isn't going to be my go-to doughnut place. I like a crunch from the fried dough and then a cakey-soft inside. This whole thing was cakey and borderline mushy. That may just be because of how fresh it was. Their schtick is that they make your doughnut fresh when you order it. Which is nice when you show up in the evening. Most other doughnut places would have a limited selection and the doughnuts would be stale passed noon. But that means all the flavor is going to be based on toppings and the dough doesn't have much character. I got the bacon blast. Their best seller. It was loaded with bacon but not much of a maple flavor. We also got the lemon bars doughnut. It had a really fresh lemon taste. Both doughnuts fell apart while eating them. While I absolutely love supporting a local organization I don't love the service here. I walked in with 4 friends at 4:17pm, for an after dinner birthday treat and they close at 5p. I checked the exact time because of what the counter service said next. We were told the menu was limited due to being "so close" to closing. and I said limited? We have 45 minutes before close. She said yes that's correct, so we could not order anything except donuts or a scoop of ice cream. As a small business in this town with this kind of lack of service and limiting a menu is absolutely ridiculous. Hoepfully they coach the staff appropriately after this review and don't limit their menu because of 45 minutes. Apparently washing dishes takes hours. read more
