    Taho

First Time Visit First Impressions Last week we visited JL Patisserie and saw this ice cream place in the back next to a florist shop. We had to try their Taho dessert which is a soft silken tofu dessert with sago pearls (Palm Tree) with heavy syrup. This place is great. R&B music playing. Restroom available. They have some food available. This is a very special dessert because it's so good and simple. People who know about this stuff will love coming here just to have this dessert.

Came by on a Thursday evening and tried their taho (tofu pudding). Not too sweet and silky. It's served warm FYI! I've had warm and cold versions but in Vietnamese or Taiwanese styles. Nice that this one came with boba for some added texture. Great healthier version of dessert with some protein too! Service was quick and kind - no complaints! Small shop with a few tables. Same plaza as JL Patisserie.

Scooptopia is a small ice cream shop located in a strip mall and has a rather non-discrete front so just follow your GPS and it'll put you right there. Apparently I should've tried the Halo Halo based on other reviews, but my ice cream was delicious. Service was friendly and the menu left me wanting to go back to try other flavors as they have a lot of unique flavors and options. Big fan of fun, local ice cream shops- will definitely be back to try something new!

    Halo Halo, junior size

I've been to Scooptopia a handful of times, but the one dessert I just can't get enough of is the halo halo! They make it so well that I often end up craving it when I'm in the area. The halo halo here is made with shaved ice, evaporated milk, jackfruit, jelly, sweetened beans, and more delicious ingredients. They top it with the taro ice cream that they sell in-store, along with a wafer roll and toasted rice (which I believe is pinipig). I think there was even a small piece of flan under the ice cream, which was SO creamy -- wish there was more!! Everything in the halo halo blends together so nicely, with nothing being overwhelmingly sweet. I could probably finish the large size. If you don't come for the halo halo, definitely come for the service -- everyone is so kind -- and the wide selection of desserts like taho, ice cream, shaved ice, smoothies, and more.

They have halo halo, calamansi ice cream, and chocolate overload ice cream shake waffle hot dogs, and much more... friendly customer service! Good prices. I plan to come again.

A cute little spot for when you have a craving for something sweet. We went to this place after our escape room across the way and was excited to find out they serve the ice cream from Scooptacular. I went with a scoop of Rocky Road and it was delicious! I wish I would've ordered another scoop. Our attendant was super patient with us as we were a bigger group ordering different menu items. With it being a smaller space, I think the seating area was a little clumped together. There was another big group when we were there and I felt like I didn't know where to stand in order to not be in their space as well.

    Taro milkshake

Taro milkshake is absolutely amazing. Staff is great, they stayed open late for us. Music playing and colored lights. Could stay in here for so long.

Delicious ice creams and a variety of flavors. I got a Thai Iced Tea float and it was amazing. The whole family loved their flavor choices. And service was above and beyond. Very friendly staff and super efficient. There was plenty of seating and clean tables. Will definitely come back here soon!

The employees their were super sweet their was a little bit of a language barrier but overall not to crazy. We got two drink and waited a little over 20min which is crazy long. The place also smelled really bad. The signature brown sugar boba drink was very good but the mango blended boba was more milkier tasting then mango and the mango flavor was very artficial. Their prices aren't bad i'd say go at a time their not to busy because they don't know how to properly deal with a high influx of customers at one time.

Taho or taufufa (cantonese) or 豆腐花 - YUM!
    Sook L.

Saw their soy bean curd - got SO EXCITED! I asked the owner if they could do the traditional "Taho" (in phillipino) without boba and he was able to do it for me. Was charged $3.81 post tax. It is SO SMOOTH!! That's what Chinese people emphasize on when eating taufu fa (cantonese) since it's a technique requiring experience and skills to achieve. We will definitely return.

Is this good for a group of 10? How's the seating?

There's is a enough room for 10 but you will take up half the seating

Is there anything that is sugar free?

Sorry, we don’t have any sugar free flavor ice cream.

Do they sell Ube ice cream by the scoop or by the pint?

They sell both by the scoop and by the pint!

    What items are vegan?

They have Hawaiian shaved ice. You can add mochi, but hold on the condensed milk. I also think the sorbets would be vegan.

There isn't any indoor seating, so this is more of a grab-your-ice-cream-and-go kind of place. After being out in the Arizona heat all day, we didn't mind one bit! My friend got a scoop of peanut butter pecan in a pretzel cone, which I thought was such a unique combination. She said it was really tasty, and I have to admit the pretzel cone definitely caught my attention. My daughter went with peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cones are made homemade right there, and they also make their cookies in-house, which made everything feel extra special. I ordered a salted caramel sundae with butter pecan ice cream, and let me tell you--it was amazing! It was the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and creamy. My sundae also came with a cookie, so of course I had to try it, and it was so good. You could definitely tell it was freshly made. After spending the day exploring Arizona in the heat, ice cream was exactly what we needed. Churn was the perfect way to cool down and end our day on a sweet note!

What a great custom menu with lots of creative choices for ice-cream, ice-cream sandwiches, shake and floats, coffee and coffee desserts. Custom rotating flavors that we tried and sampled as we decided. Love how there's a secret back entrance to the ice cream parlor from Windsor Cocktail Bar next door. This is part of a cluster of good restaurants of different types along Central Avenue in Uptown. Parking available right in front of the entrance as well as around back in a private parking lot. I was so tempted by several items on the menu, but since I had just had a large lunch, I chose to try a single scoop of the Vietnamese coffee ice cream. So delicious and I loved the tiny specks of coffee. Hubs got a double scoop of strawberry ice cream, and my son got a strawberry shake. We all really enjoyed the interior and decor of the ice cream shop and the high-quality and good flavors of the ice cream. Service is really great here. The ladies were really working hard and going as fast as they could, and it didn't look easy scooping the large scoops of frozen hard ice cream. There was a line out the door on the Saturday afternoon that we showed up that moved quickly.

I had reviewed the menu online and in the extras it does not include oat milk, which is why I assumed it came with it. My coffee ultimately came out to $9.16. What a joke. I will definitely not be coming back here for anything besides ice cream from here on out and even that is a hard maybe. A Nostalgic, Must-Visit Dessert Destination in Old Town Scottsdale…read more Our party of six visited the Sugar Bowl for dessert following a friend's birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, we were accommodated immediately and seated without any delay. The parlor features a wonderful, nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of the late 1900s. Its menu is remarkably expansive, offering an impressive variety of options that goes well beyond what one might typically expect from a traditional dessert establishment. The service we received was patient and polite. While one of our table's orders was initially overlooked, the staff corrected the mistake instantly as soon as we brought it to our server's attention. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily into decadent, sweet treats; those looking for lighter or tart options like yogurt variations will find limited choices, but the indulgent selections are perfect for traditional dessert lovers. The surrounding neighborhood adds significantly to the appeal, offering an excellent Old Town atmosphere filled with art galleries, historic shops, and artifacts. If you are visiting the nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), enjoying dinner in the area, or simply taking an evening walk, I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar Bowl for its unique historical charm and experience.

They have a bar area and standard seating. I remember I first went here when I was in high school in late 90's/early 2000's. Ice cream was always top notch. I used to get the Buster Brownie, which was this big brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, goeey marshmallow topping, whipped cream, & cherry on top. It was awesome! I loved that way back then. I got lunch there once or twice; pretty good sandwiches, but the real highlight is the ice cream. My most recent visit was in Jan. 2022 with my dad. We decided to pop in for ice cream. It was as delicious as I remembered.
