First Time Visit First Impressions Last week we visited JL Patisserie and saw this ice cream place in the back next to a florist shop. We had to try their Taho dessert which is a soft silken tofu dessert with sago pearls (Palm Tree) with heavy syrup. This place is great. R&B music playing. Restroom available. I checked out Scooptopia during the Bao and Chicken Wing Festival in Peoria. They had a stand set up at the festival. Ambiance (N/A): Since they were at the festival, I didn't visit their brick-and-mortar location. Service (4/5): Like most festivals, you stand in line, place your order, and then they call your name or number when your order is ready. Which is exactly what the setup was here. Food (4/5): I'm not sure if the menu was the same as their store but here, they had a nice variety of items. We went with the pork skewers and the fried dumplings. The skewers were delectable--juicy, with a nice sweet glaze, and reasonably priced. Th dumplings were a notch below. Doused in sauce on the plate, they were crispy but the filling left something to be desired. I've had a lot of dumplings, gyoza, and mandu in my day. These didn't stack up. Drinks (4.5/5): I've always been a huge fan of fresh juice and agua frescas. I went with a watermelon juice here which was quite refreshing. And reasonably priced compared to the other drink options, such as bubble tea, at the festival. After having a nice experience with Scooptopia at the festival, I'll have to try their brick-and-mortar location next. read more

Scooptopia is a small ice cream shop located in a strip mall and has a rather non-discrete front so just follow your GPS and it'll put you right there. Apparently I should've tried the Halo Halo based on other reviews, but my ice cream was delicious. Service was friendly and the menu left me wanting to go back to try other flavors as they have a lot of unique flavors and options. I've been to Scooptopia a handful of times, but the one dessert I just can't get enough of is the halo halo! They make it so well that I often end up craving it when I'm in the area. The halo halo here is made with shaved ice, evaporated milk, jackfruit, jelly, sweetened beans, and more delicious ingredients. They top it with the taro ice cream that they sell in-store, along with a wafer roll and toasted rice (which I believe is pinipig). I think there was even a small piece of flan under the ice cream, which was SO creamy -- wish there was more!! Everything in the halo halo blends together so nicely, with nothing being overwhelmingly sweet. I could probably finish the large size. If you don't come for the halo halo, definitely come for the service -- everyone is so kind -- and the wide selection of desserts like taho, ice cream, shaved ice, smoothies, and more. read more

A cute little spot for when you have a craving for something sweet. We went to this place after our escape room across the way and was excited to find out they serve the ice cream from Scooptacular. I went with a scoop of Rocky Road and it was delicious! I wish I would've ordered another scoop. Our attendant was super patient with us as we were a bigger group ordering different menu items. With it being a smaller space, I think the seating area was a little clumped together. I ordered some ice cream from here through Grubhub and it came cold, creamy, and tasty. I liked the cookies and cream flavor, which was fresh! Unfortunately they ran out of the strawberry flavor, and they ended up substituting it with strawberry + cheesecake (it was roughly the same, it just had cheesecake chunks in it). I appreciated them calling me first to confirm that I was ok with the change, and they wrote an apology on the delivery bag containing my food, which was quite sweet.
