I've been here once, I got the strawberry sorbet. It was good. My family, who ordered sundaes, said they were underwhelming. I'll be back to see if that's true. This is a delightful ice cream shop connected to The Windsor restaurant. The parking can be a challenge but the goodness of the ice cream/sorbet was worth the couple times of circling to find a spot. Inside is a retro of "old school" candies and treats aligning a shelf to include Cracker Jack, Sugar Daddies, Pop Rocks, spinning tops, and many more nostalgic treats. A variety of flavorful ice cream choices and YES, tasty VEGAN options as well. While in town visiting for a month I had ice cream at least once a week... well maybe twice. Delicious ice cream! It's a small shop, but has a variety of ice cream flavors, sundaes, and candies. We kept it simple and got a scoop each of the double chocolate and Vietnamese coffee. This place is overhyped by far. I ordered the small strawberry shortcake sundae. The ice cream's flavors were limiting and overpowering/overwhelming. We spent quite a bit of time trying to decide between what felt like 5 flavors. Even then, my ice cream tasted like bleach and detergent. The shortcake was dry on my sundae, and barely soaked up the moisture of my ice cream. I don't understand how they can look so cutesy despite having subpar sweets. I would rather get a neapolitan bucket from Wal-Mart as my treat than come back here. As a matter of fact, the strawberries tasted like it came out of the frozen bag aisle from Wal-Mart. My friend only ate three bites of her coconut and strawberry single scoop and threw it away. The shop has no in-door seating. But the aesthetic was very niche. My life legitimately changed when I walked in yesterday and tried the goat cheese, pistachio, and honey ice cream. I mean tears rolling off of my face. I thought they couldn't outdo theirselves after I tried their butter pecan ice cream but they have proven me very wrong. This is like a mini version of an old time ice cream parlor without any of the tables. The only tables that they have are a few metal tables outside. Inside is full of tiny nostalgic knickknacks (some you can even buy). Honestly this store is just fun to walk in and see all the random things they have to offer. In my opinion there aren't a ton of different flavors (maybe 15?) but it's okay, because the ones I did sample were AMAZING!! I ended up ordering a kids scoop of Vietnamese coffee and it was perfect! I made my group drive all the way across the city for what promised to be the best ice cream. Even though it was a cold evening the place had a line. I love this place! It's very small in the front, but you turn the corner and it's just an amazing wall decor and more seating. We decided to sit outside. In PHX, AZ it wasn't too cold at all (especially being from the PNW). When you walk in they have many different old school candy like Razzles and little knick knack toys. It's like I was a kid all over again. The ice cream reminded me of cold stone, but more small town feel. The flavors were great, and I love that they make all their own ice cream. Ok, I love ice cream. Yes, but not all ice cream is created equal. Having grown up with the crappy ice milk you get at certain locations that shall remain nameless, but use two letters as their name, you develop certain flawed expectations of what is good ice cream. Then the $6 tiny cup of average crap with a mix in named after the cold rock they mix your stuff on. Yes, you remember with nostalgia the hand cranked ice cream at grandma's house, as long as you were young enough to not have to take a turn, and getting to lick the paddle, but as soon as you were old enough you realized what an absolute pain in the nether regions that was and how grandpa and dad always fought against it, since its not 1885 anymore. So, when you get a little bit of nostalgia with really good ice cream that you got to buy, not recreating a turn of the century sweatshop for fun, and see candy from your childhood for sale, you jump on it right! RIGHT! So the wife and I hit churn on our stay-cation away from the kids last year, and it was amazing! Madagascar vanilla, orangecicle ice cream and the secret ingredient, a delicious apricot cranberry oatmeal cookie. HA HA HA HA, it was so good, not too sweet with tons of flavor! Wife got some combination of death by chocolate that she loved and i hardly paid attention to because mine was so good. I manage on most days to avoid driving over unless i am really stressed. I swear my therapist must be a part owner of the place. The sweets shop nature of the place with the nice shaded patio in back really is quite fun, and they also sell some jars of cool syrups and such.
