    They douse their Caesar salad in balsamic vinegar.

    It makes zero sense to me why something like a Caesar salad, which already has a very strong & unique salad dressing on its own, would then be covered in balsamic vinegar. A Caesar salad doesn't need vinegar, and also the salad no longer tastes like a Caesar when it's overpowered by a balsamic. What an illogical choice of the chef here. You're ruining the salad. No salad needs two layers of different kinds of dressings on it. The staff took care of the issue but it doesn't make me want to eat here again.

    Take me to church, but only if it's Church & Union. If you're on the hunt for a brunch spot in downtown Denver, look no further. This place has it all: stunning decor, great energy, and a menu that somehow balances classy and inventive. Let's start with the bottomless mimosas, they're generous, effective, and everything you want on a Sunday morning. The steak and eggs hit the spot, and the French toast was also good. Whether you're feeling fancy or just want to lounge with bubbles and good vibes, this place delivers. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you're rolling in with a group.

    TL;DR: Food was disappointing, service was good Came here for an early dinner after doing some activities in the area. Service was really nice and attentive. FOOD: ~Complimentary hummus (3.8/5): was good but very oily ~Confit duck leg (2/5): This duck was unbearably salty. Not sure if they brined the duck, but it was near inedible (coming from someone whose palate leans salty). Tried to mellow it out with the frisee salad, but it didn't help much. We were starving so tried to eat it all. The sauce on it was decent, but also borderline salty. ~Wagyu flank steak (2/5): I assumed this would be Japanese A5, but I think it was American Wagyu. It was so tough and under seasoned. Came in huge slices. If it were cut more thinly, it would have potentially helped. ~Crab cake (2.5/5): The old bay seasoning was too strong and could only take 2 bites ~Fries (3.5/5): Fries are fries ~Lamb Bolognese (4.25/5): without this, we would have been completely upset about our meal. The sauce was flavored well and the meat was nice. The dollops of creme fraiche (?) was a nice balance. Portion was huge

    We walked in and the moody trendy vibe was there and we wanted to love Church & Union, but it just wasn't there. Service was beyond slow. We eventually ordered drinks and the people next to us got an appetizer that looked good, I asked the lady next to us what it was and she shared... and said it was okay, but they had been there for an hour and a half! We opted to have a drink and move on to another destination. The drinks were decent but lacked the spice the description stated. Maybe they were short handed? We will likely give them another chance.

    Came to Denver for a weekend and finished it off with going to Church and Union. After spending some time hanging out in Estes Park and Georgetown it was time to see what urban food life was like in Denver. This restaurant is lit. Really cool vibe with the words all over walls. Nice urban, cool feel to it. My waiter was incredible and did a great job with service. Recommended the trout, pictured here which was the best trout I've ever had and perfectly tender. Very good restaurant. Has a intermountain west meets southern style type of cooking that I really enjoyed.

    I'm racking up the good reviews lately. Another great new restaurant in Denver that gets a five out of five. Church and union is brand new and just blocks away from Union Station. I have already been three times in the last two months, and not a bad word to say. Our first visit was right after opening, we got to Sample the menu and I loved their steak, meatballs, hummus, and they had amazing cocktails. Our second visit was for Thanksgiving, which was awesome. There was a set menu and it was only $75 per person. And you could add a drink pairing if you wished. Everything was delicious whether it was the turkey and fixings or a nice steak like I got. They also had this amazing butternut squash soup to start the meal My last visit was for Brunch. This might've been my favorite because it had my favorite dish: shrimp and grits. This might've been the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. So rich and creamy and delicious with huge shrimps that they did not skim out on . Don't you hate it when you get shrimp and grits at a restaurant and they only give you three shrimp. The portions are always generous here. This was divine. I also must mention the brioche French toast and the avocado toast. Both also a delicious way to start the morning. If you're a bottomless mimosa gal, they have your back here. I got a bloody Mary, which was pretty decent as well. I can't wait to come back for another dinner and another brunch soon. This place slaps.

    After an incredible experience at their original location in Charleston, we were incredibly excited to try out their Denver location for our friends bday and we're incredibly pleased! Menu is a little bit different here due to regional ingredients. Ambience is hipster but classy. Casual attire and sophisticated food! What's better than that?! Service was on point attentive, but not smothering. We started with delicious, cocktails, and mock tails. Followed by a few appetizers that were incredibly memorable! The bacon and melon, the Allenati Noah shrimp and Parker rolls were all insane! Beautiful flavors and platting. Dinner was comfort food with large portions. Delicious fried chicken was the highlight for the table closely followed by the pasta. We shared the buttermilk cake for dessert! Loved our experience and look forward to our return for brunch!

    Church and union is worth every penny. The decor is so cool. The ceiling is covered/painted with words from the book art of war. I mean the entire ceiling. Beautiful art pieces hang on the walls as well. The service from the moment my children and I stepped in we were greeted by the hostess and taken care of by Danny. He was on top of everything. He was bringing us refills before we noticed our glass was empty. He knew the menu very well and gave great suggestions. We had a few appetizers and then the ravioli. The appetizers were way more filling than I expected. We started off with the Nola shrimp it was fantastic. Very flavorful and the sauce from that was used to dip our jalapeño and cheese bread in. Chef kiss good. We also had the meatballs and braised bacon. Both were mouth watering and eye closed bites. I mean I could those meatballs everyday. When my 9 year old who is a picky eater told me how good they were I knew the bite would be memorable. The braised bacon was moist and melted in your mouth. The pickled jalapeño gave it a little kick to see the bite over the top. The ravioli to finish things off were magnificent. I mean the sauce was seasoned well and taste amazing. The ravioli was cooked to perfection and just a wonderful bite. I highly recommend going to church and union the food and the service were AMAZING!!! Keep up the great work!

    Came here for company dinner. The service was over the top. The server really knew the menu inside and out. Food was a bit salty, or lack of flavor but the drinks were on fire. It gives a nice cocktail bar vibe tons of seating options. I would come back here for drinks next time!

    I've been waiting for this spot to finally open in Denver, and I'm so excited it now has! Love the vibe -- very trendy, but also sophisticated. Nice long bar, plus lots of comfy tables spaced well apart. The ceiling is all a huge excerpt from Sun Tzu's "Art of War," adding to the cool ambiance. Service is impeccable. They brought in staff from their other locations to help open here, so everything is super smooth. Everyone is friendly and knows their S. Drinks are on point. The Ghost is like a spicy cucumber margarita -- with a bit of cool and a bit of spice and honestly my perfect cocktail. Fantastic food. Southern meets Midwest farm-to-table. The ahi tuna a crispy rice app was a really cool take on the concept, the meatballs were some of my favorites I've ever had, and the local lamb shank fell off the bone and was full of flavor! I'm 100% coming back, especially cause I didn't get to try the bbq shrimp yet!

    Decent food but too expensive for what it is. Very meh flavors. But great service and vibes! Went for the Christmas pop up and that was fun but prob won't ever go back. Trout was tasty, but soaked with oil. Tuna tots were ok/good. Whipped ricotta was flavorless.

    I have watched reels on Instagram for this restaurant and was so excited to try it. Unfortunately, it's a big disappointment. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it arrived very luke warm, which I found weird because the restaurant was not busy at all. The taste was so so. I ordered a side biscuit, and as you could imagine from the photo, it was grossly overcooked, hard, and quite crunchy. I did not even try to finish it, the butter wouldn't even melt. The one positive was that our server was very nice. And be ready most restaurants have a service charge but I was not expecting a 15% addition for what was told to us did not go to our server. I start my tipping at 20%. So if the 15% does not go to your server, be prepared to tip over your normal. for so so food, ummm I don't think I can go back.

I highly recommend reserving the special outdoor cabanas with fireplaces to enhance the experience. This will be a favorite place of mine while visiting Denver.

The server gave us a lot of info like telling us which food dishes were James beard award winning. The breads were yummy but very small and the server came around to distribute it to us individually. We tried the fresh bacon first -- it's basically a piece of pork belly in a garbanzo bean mush with butter / oil around it. I liked the bean mush the most, it added a lot of flavor to the pork. The pork is actually pretty similar to a piece of Kalua pork, we were eating with some Hawaiians and they thought it was just like kalua pork minus rice. I found it was best if you ate it with a bit of the broth as it adds a lot of flavor that balances the super creamy tortellini. I loved the dessert-- it's basically a chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Some of my table mates ordered the peas and carrots dessert and it looked really interesting kind of like a salad. I took off a star because they seemed to keep clearing only half the table and taking away our silverware without giving more. We found ourselves short of utensils a few times! There could also be more clear signage about where the bathroom is.
