    Fried mandoo
    Noelle Y.

This is my favorite Korean restaurant! It was at their old location and still is at their new location. The food is so delicious and the service always so nice. It's very close to where we live so we usually walk but it's nice that they have a little parking lot right next to it. We usually get seated right away. I love their banchan too. The kimchee is so good. We always get fried mandoo, and theirs is so big and just delicious. Their sauce is excellent as well. My husband either gets the galbi or bossam. He loves both. I used to always get the kimchee stew because it's delicious. But once I tried their hot stone bibimbap, I always get that now. It's sooooo good. I just love everything here. It's my favorite!

Loved the pricing here and all the options they have to order! they had these cute soju cocktails in little bags that were very strong but fruity. I liked that we were able to order tofu soup with our meats. Everything was so delicious!

First time here. Located located in Ala Moana location. By convention center. Parking lot to the side of restaurant- about 10 stalls. Friendly pleasant welcoming service Clean tables and restaurant. Neat. Quiet and relaxing. Atmosphere We ordered LA galbi (kalbi), meat jeon (meat jun), hot stone potbi bim bap, and stir fried squid Every dish was tasty!!! The prices are great for the food that you get!! Must come back!!

Searched Yelp for suggestions and read the reviews for Chogalip Korean Restaurant and Bar. Located across the Convention Center. Private parking lot . We're so happy that we found them and had the opportunity to dine there. Service was excellent. The suggestions by our server were spot on. We tried the Korean Chives Pancake, Meat Jun, Galbi, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. All were prepared hot and fresh. Everything was perfect and delicious . The Meat Jun was the best we've had on Oahu. Oh and the sauce they served with it was amazing. They should bottle it . Highly recommended

We've been looking for a great tasting authentic Korean Food (tofu soup) and we saw this right across the Hawaii Convention Center. The food is truly authentic and delicious! The place was typical Korean restaurant which add to the appeal. It was very quiet since we were the only customers at 4pm, which made the service personal and intimate. Remember, this is right across the Convention Center so the traffic was very busy. I do recommend coming early. They also have limited parking since the lot shares with other businesses. However, it's worth the hassle!!! By the way, their mold is volcanic ;)

    Scorched rice barley tea

What do you eat for breakfast? Is it oatmeal? Is it avocado toast? My preferred breakfast is meat jeon. Dont judge! It's made with eggs! We finally were able to try Chogajip by the convention center...and it was so worth it. It had previously been a little difficult because they open at 8am and I normally eat breakfast earlier than that...but we went on a weekend, and it was delicious . They have their own dedicated parking lot which is a big win. It's shared with the foot massage parlor. When we entered, we were greeted warmly, and brought menus. But the best part is they brought out a small, warm cauldron of scorched rice barley tea. I'm so hooked. I didn't know I needed this first thing in the morning, but I do now. Soothing and smooth, this tea receives it's texture from small bits of crispy rice floating in the tea. Its the perfect 'wake up' concoction and an amazing way to start breakfast! We ordered the meat jeon and galbi breakfast so we could share and it was a good move. The meat jeon was crispy and soft at the same time. The sauce it was served with was a perfect match and I would definitely order it again. The galbi was arguably better than the meat jeon! Marinated to perfection, these large pieces were succulent, sweet and savory all at the same time. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner...but for sure we will be back for breakfast!

We had a nice time at Chogajip. They specialize in meat jun and it comes out as a huge portion. This is a place to take some friends and drink. The service is on the slower side, but the food is worth the wait. Parking is a little hard here since the plaza is really small, but there is street parking around. The banchans are good, and overall, it's worth a visit.

Still bomb! Place seems to be consistent with customers, food and service. When in the area this is our go to spot!

    Chive jun
    Hannah W.

My friends and I have visited this place a few times. Since then I've tried the chive jun, kimchi stew, galbijjim (spicy and regular version), army stew, and the spicy pork bibimbap. The chive jun is probably the most notable because it's so thin and crispy. The galbijjim is also pretty good as well and I like that it's the perfect size but not crazy expensive like I've seen in LA before. The kimchi stew was just okay for me. The broth could have a little more flavor. The army stew was similar in that I wish the broth had had a little more flavor but overall wasn't bad. The service has always been great. They are always super nice and welcoming when we visit. There's a little parking lot that is shared with the foot massage place that is connected that you can park in as well.

Lunch special: galbi, yellow croaker, and soft tofu stew
    Rose L.

I've been to Chogajip for both lunch and dinner and had great experiences each time. Their lunch special is a solid deal at $24.99--you get to choose a grilled meat paired with either bean paste stew, kimchi stew, or soft tofu stew. I went with the galbi and soft tofu stew, while my husband had the grilled yellow croaker with the same stew. The soft tofu stew had just the right amount of spice, and both meats were grilled to perfection. The yellow croaker was impressively crispy, though a bit too salty for my taste. My husband, however, really enjoyed it. For dinner on another visit, we ordered the chive geon and spicy galbi jjim. The chive geon was the crispiest I've ever had and generously packed with chives. The galbi jjim was fall-apart tender and flavorful, though a touch sweeter than I prefer. Our friends ordered the spicy pork belly bibimbap and kimchi stew, and they were very happy with their meals as well. Another bonus: they offer free parking, which is always a nice convenience. The service was also great and the food came out quick.

After dinner... we were looking for dessert... But... To make a long story short,... We ended up at: ChoGaJip - Hawaii Yup... i was a bit hungry after an unsatisfying dinner... We had free parking in the small lot. We didn't have a reservation, but it wasn't crowded... maybe we missed everyone because it was kinda late at night. Service was ok... not too memorable. The decor wasn't outstanding... just practical. I got cold noodles. They were chewy and the broth had a bit of vinegar in it. The banchan was a bit spicy for me. I was full! It was just convenient and good for late night snacks since they close at 4am. Note: It used to be Masil Pocha. Thanks to my friends for going with me to dinner at a "new" place!

While attending a conference at the Honolulu Convention Center, my colleagues and I were looking for a nearby, tasty spot since the food lines at the conference were too long. We stumbled upon this little gem across the street, and I'm so glad we did! I don't have much experience with Korean food, but I was pleasantly surprised. I mentioned to the server that we were on a tight schedule and needed separate checks for work reimbursement, and she had no problem accommodating us. The food came out quickly, was delicious, and we were in and out in about 30-40 minutes. I ordered the lunch special beef bulgogi, which came with white rice and a few appetizers. The portion was huge, definitely enough to share. Highly recommend this spot for a quick, tasty meal!

Absolutely Amazing food, felt like I was back in korea. The galbi was probably the best one ive had on island, as well as the meat Jeon. The only reason why im giving four stars is because of the price. A bit too pricy, but worth it if moneys not an issue

Had a glass of wine and baby had watered down lemonade. Her drinks were put in plastic cups with covers and those horrible paper straws. Eyes always bigger than my stomach, we ordered: - Cornbread - when i grabbed it I thought would be super dense but really wasn't. I thought it was very corny and tasty. Lightly toasted. Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Baby ate some but was not really thrilled about it. I loved it. - Scallop and Mushroom Risotto - YUM. Delish. Baby liked it too. So much leftovers of everything. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. There is a big stall which was perf since baby is potty training and had to go #1 and #2! Only thing missing was a hook to hang my purse and her bag. The Duck Confit was yummy! I thought the duck was going to be super dry, but when you eat it with the jam that came with it, it's very good. I requested for a little bit more of the jam but was given just balsamic glaze... My friend said her scallop risotto was watery and not the same as the last time she went. My bfs prime rib was okay. Bone marrow was okay. The chicken pasta, octopus appetizer, salad, and mac n cheese were lacking flavor and tasted okay. I would recommend dining here if you do not have plans after.
