At the suggestion of Reddit, I came here with my boyfriend and friend during our Waikiki trip and we loved it! We ordered spicy cold noodles, brisket, and japchae. The meat here is excellent quality and very well marbled, and the banchan sides are to die for. We had to top up on ours a couple times! Japchae is a bit on the oily side, but that's to be expected. I found the mul naengmyun to be delicious and icy cold, it really hit the spot after a heated day of hiking and beach going on the island. Three items was honestly more than enough for three people, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and everything here smelled amazing. The seasoning and brisket dipping sauce were so authentic, the noodle broth had that wonderful fragrant gochugaru scent. Parking situation is a bit weird! The lot was full and they suggest you to visit an alternate location that's a five minute walk away, but the lot is pay to park. We decided to street park since it was free during the time period we visited for dinner! This could be a bit of a deterrent if you're someone who wants a frictionless experience dining or if you're in a time crunch, but this was no object to me in the pursuit of an authentic Korean meal. Since Sorabol closed, we had to find another place for our New Year's Day tteok guk (Korean rice cake soup). Fairly close to our new home, the Yakiniku Korea House menu lists tteok mandu guk, which is the same soup with mandu added. We invited a friend, and the three of us arrived in time for an early lunch. My wife asked the server in Korean if they had tteok guk, and she replied without hesitation that they did. In addition to the guk, I ordered galbi jjim (a Korean braised short-rib dish). After they brought the banchan, it wasn't long before three big bowls of tteok guk arrived. We all enjoyed it, but my wife was especially impressed with its taste. A while later, the galbi jjim was served, still boiling in its pot. I eagerly tasted it. It was a bit on the sweet side, but tasted quite savory, and the meat was almost fall-off-the-bone tender. This was an especially enjoyable, filling lunch. We had a meal set which included a stone pot rice with many treasures, bulgogi and tofu soup, along with some individual orders of meat jun and stone pot bi bim bap. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the marinades on all the meats were perfectly balanced. You can tell they really care about their cuts and seasoning. My partner has been wanting to try this spot out for a while, he said has visited for their yakiniku a long time ago but haven't gone back since. We finally got the chance to try it out so we made our way here before their dinner rush. After we ordered the LARGE variety of banchan's arrived at the table, I was literally marveling at it when the waitress wheeled it all out. We ordered: - Hot stone bibimbap: 8/10 My partner really wanted to try this and it was very fun to eat and flavorful. It also came with seaweed soup which I happily gulped up. - Seafood Pancake: 10/10 probably the best seafood pancake I've had. Perfectly crispy and packed with ingredients (so not doughy at all). - Meat Jun: 9/10 Solid meat jun. It came with rice as well. It didn't come with the typical meat jun sauce so it wasn't hitting as much as it could've. The portion was also on the smaller side especially compared to the seafood pancake or other spots I've been to. Overall, I would really recommend this spot. I'm not sure how worth it is their yakiniku as we didn't get any but plenty of people were grilling up meats. The yakiniku seems to be a bit on the pricier side so order at your own discretion. This is one of my favorite KBBQ on the island! Mostly locals eat here and the meat quality are better than majority of the KBBQ restaurants in the area. Best kimchi as well and spicy! It's my first time here at Yakiniku Korea House...where it's on Beretania in McCully right across Long's just after passing University Ave is this gem and with it's own parking lot makes it a great place to gather though come early to secure a spot as it does get busy. Dinner here with a group of friends is the best as they bring out the banchan and since none of us were cooking we took full advantage of the cook top to place it for an easy impromptu buffet. Loved to see the options they have from the carnivore dream of various meats to grill, Stone Pot to a complete meal for 2. I couldn't resist my latest obsession "Cold Noodle" a refreshing and light dish which was topped with cucumber and daikon and the hard boiled egg but what really made it different is the apples and to my amazement it just worked, I couldn't also resist the spicy which it really was. I came here the other night with some family and friends. The food was good. Not every Yakiniku place makes their meat good. So I was very surprise. Everything was ok. I mean they never came to check on us or even refill our water but it was whatever. But what pissed me off was when it was time to pay. Both my cousin and I paid separate and we were trying to figure out how much to tip base on our total. I usually tip 20%+ depending on the service I receive. Isn't that how it suppose to work? Anyways, one of the workers demanded us more tip. She wasn't happy with the 18-20% we gave. And said we needed to give her $55 in tips. My cousins tab was $209 so $45 should be a little more than 20%. My tab was 100+ and I gave her $20. The lady stood there and waited for more money. Getting irritated and kept saying it wasn't enough. Mind you tip is optional. We didn't have to tip you! It's very unprofessional of someone to expect the amount you want! With that shitty ass service that we were given. My cousin who didn't know was about to give her another $20 and I said no! We already gave more than enough! And walked out. Located on the right side of Beretania Street, across from Longs Drugs Store, we all drive past this establishment many times. It has its own parking lot, great air-conditioning, convenient restroom, good ventilation, efficient service, and delicious food! I had called about an hour before we met to make a reservation. When I got there, our table was set and ready to go! We looked at the extensive menu - there were so many choices - especially the Lunch Specials!!! We all decided to get our own meals and skip the cooking. I ordered Cold Noodle Soup... it was delicious and refreshing. I actually added a bit more vinegar to the broth. My brother insisted this was the spot the Korean students from Korea go to, so we checked it out for lunch. We ordered the combo kbbq set, which says it feed 2 people, but was more than enough for 4. It came with all beef, some onion, garlic, and a soup of your choice. We ordered the kimchi soup, which arrived boiling. It also comes with 2 bowls of rice. We also ordered the yukhoe, which is a beef tartare. It's mixed with apples and sesame oil, and is a little frozen. Like any classic Korean restaurant, we got a lot of banchan delivered to us, including 2 types of kimchi, potatoes, seaweed, and a salad. There is also fish cake but I had to specially ask for it. You can refill it as often as you like. The meat was generally pretty good quality -- I will say a few slices of the thin brisket had some chewy bits, but it was mostly on the better side. They changed our grill for us and refilled our complimentary hot teas and iced waters. There are gendered restrooms and lots of parking outside in their outdoor lot. The service was quick and it was just a no frills, straight to the good stuff experience. We got the brisket, pork belly, soondubu, and steamed egg. All were so tasty. They even didn't charge us for the soondubu, saying it's on the house! I actually went to Million the day after just because the KBBQ I had here was so good that I wanted it again.
