General Tsao's Chicken and Singapore Noodles
Susan J.

Another rating 10 years from the last time I ordered. Gen tsao chicken and Singapore noodles. Verdict? Pretty darn quick and tasty! I ordered when I walked out of the Home Depot and by the time I drove to CK, it was already ready. The place look well kempt and clean. An older asian lady took my order and there was another front staff. An asian gentleman was at the wok cooking the food. There are a good amount of tables if you wanted to eat in. So the food. The chicken in the GT was huge chunks of dark meat tossed in a sweet slightly spicy sauce with some carrots and green peppers (nothing changed from a decade ago). I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the Singapore noodles was! It had just the right heat kick. $26 for a large portion of meals, not too shabby!

DROWNING IN BLAND SAUCE Ordered "Pork with Vegetables" from China King and what I got was a sad comedy show in a Styrofoam box. The pork? Thin, dry slices that looked like they'd been reheated three times and still begged for water. The "vegetables"? Mostly carrots--seriously, it felt like I ordered Carrots Deluxe with a side of disappointment. A couple of snow peas showed up, probably by accident, and then everything was drowned in a salty brown sauce so heavy it could've stripped paint. No balance, no flavor, just carrots swimming in sludge with pork jerky on top. If this is their idea of Chinese food, I'd hate to see what happens if you order something complicated. Save yourself the money--buy a bag of baby carrots, dump a bottle of soy sauce on them, and you'll have a better meal at home.

Beef Lo Mein

My absolute favorite spot to get Lo Mein. I have been going here for over a decade now and love it every single time. Quick fast and easy meal! The staff here is always so friendly, quick and efficient with my order.

Generally agree with other reviews that this is an OK spot for Chinese takeaway - the menu is mostly Americanized with your standard General Tso, Lo Mein, Chow Fun, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Spring Rolls, etc. The pricing is pretty reasonable for the convenience and portion, especially the lunch special combinations (which include a spring/egg roll and fried rice). The service is friendly and quick. I'd come back here for a quick take out order if I'm in the area.

a plate of stir fried vegetables

I'm back. I had the Triple Delight again. It's very good. The service has definitely gotten better over the years. Quick service too.

I've been here twice now and tried to come last week. The website has said they opened at 11 but…read morethe doors were locked. Apparently they opened now at 12 and I checked today - the website was updated. So they lose a star for poor advertising. I went to a place next door and had a great experience. Ok - for Chiko. I'm impressed that a venue like this exists in Sterling which has void of good Asian food. Food (5/5): I've had several sides and entrees- Appetizers: Radish was great Avocado salad is a hit and it's really large. Entrees: Spicy bulgogi stir fry - are my favorite. The chewy rice cakes are my favorite! Lamb noodles are good if you're a fan of lamb (I'm not) Smashed salmon - salmon was a bit overcooked. Jjanangmyeon - the noodles were a bit too saucy. The cook made the noodles spicy. Service (4/5): Good. Sometimes has a hard time getting our server. Ambiance (3/5): It's a sterile cafeteria type place. The chairs are not too comfortable.

Chiko is no exception. A Korean-Chinese fusion concept with bright yellow and black decor, a friendly and responsive wait staff and a unique menu that won't be found elsewhere, we're working our way through the variety of bowls, dumplings and entrees that all combine multiple sweet, sour, and spicy elements as a foundation for the dishes. We knew nothing about Korean food, moving here from Colorado where everything was with steak or burgers. (I'm exaggerating a bit). The diverse population of the area is clearly reflected in the number and variety of restaurants. If you're not familiar with Korean food this is a good place to start at reasonable prices. They have a liquor license we. Parking is ample.

Chau's Cafe has been on and off my radar these past few years. When I saw that Yelp friend, Lyn L…read more went there recently and gave them high marks, we decided to give them a try. Be prepared to hunt for the place if you've never been to the shopping center, which is quite close to Route 7. We were here around 4 p.m. on a Saturday. At that time of day, there was one occupied table. Ordering food means going to the counter and giving your order to the person working there, and then paying. They have a menu on the wall, but the woman working there told us to look at the paper menu. Apparently, the menu on the wall is constantly changing. Before coming, we decided to order Mongolian beef, ma po tofu, and two small bowls of hot and sour soup. At first, my husband couldn't find the Mongolian beef on the menu. I took a look and found it is listed under the chef's specials. We gave our order and also got a can of ginger ale from the refrigerated chest. After paying, we chose a four top table for ourselves. The food came out quickly! First, the hot and sour soup came. It was served hot and did have some kick to it. We both enjoyed it. It does have quite a few button mushrooms in it, which I gave to my husband. Just as we were finishing the soup, both our entrees arrived. We both liked the Mongolian beef (which also had an abundance of button mushrooms). The sauce was tasty, and the beef was tender. As for the ma po tofu, we thought it was okay but could have been better. It's a meat-free entree that basically has large pieces of tofu, a lot of thin, spicy sauce, and bits of green onions. We each were given generous portions of white rice. We would consider visiting again in the future, as the service was excellent. As for ambiance, it has a carry-out place feel. It's kept quite clean.

First time here today in a bit of time, still flavorless, got chicken and mixed veggies lunch special and found hair in my food.... Food super tangy, parts of the rice was undercooked, and in Chaus fashion, one soy sauce packet. I Will NEVER ! EVER ! come back here again.
