My son and I went just went to Chilaquiles for the first time. Our breakfast was delicious! Good sized portions and we left full. Our waitress Riley was great and was very help with the menu. Been to the original location near Country Club and Southern and wanted to try this as bit closer. Went on a Saturday late morning. Very short wait to sit inside and no wait for patio seating. Sat outside. Is shaded and has misters. Started with some plain coffee and a cafe de olla. Followed by Chilliquiles DF and an Arizona scramble. Everything tasted great and was served quickly. We've visited this location a few times because the food really is delicious, especially the chilaquiles, the conchas, and their flavorful salsa. The kitchen consistently delivers. Unfortunately, the service is what keeps us from wanting to return. Once again, we experienced inattentive wait staff. It was frustrating having to flag down a busboy just to get assistance with basic needs like drink refills or checking in on our order. Ironically, he was far more helpful and attentive than our actual server. He was polite, proactive, and genuinely tried to make up for the service gaps. What really rubbed us the wrong way was when it came time to pay, our waiter finally appeared, standing over us as if expecting a tip. Instead, we handed our tip directly to the busboy who had done far more to take care of us during the meal. It's disappointing, because we love the food, but the lack of basic attentiveness from the service staff at this location continues to be a deterrent. We've had much better experiences at the other Mesa location and would recommend going there instead if you want both great food and a pleasant dining experience. read more

Unfortunately, I have to negatively review Chilaquiles Modern Kitchen. It was one of my favorite places, that I can now no longer go, or recommend. I have a disabled uncle with a service dog. He never gets out and goes anywhere, because he is too embarrassed and worried about having anyone confronting him about his service dog. I have always insisted "it is a service dog, they are required to admit you, no one is going to bother you, you shouldn't isolate yourself it isn't healthy." Boy was I wrong. Yesterday at lunch at Chilaquiles an older lady came in with a service dog. Even though they acknowledged it was a service dog and that they were 'sorry', she was told she had to sit on the patio. Well, for me the weather was nice enough, but she was with some very elderly people and said something about one of them couldn't sit on the patio and Chilaquiles flat out refused her, so they left. I was embarrassed for them, and then angry. This is exactly why my uncle won't leave the house, he doesn't want to be segregated and humiliated in public. Sad and shameful of this business. First time coming to Chilaquiles and they did not disappoint!! I know the other location is a bit more popular, guess from location, but this one was awesome! Our server was good, cafe de olla was on point (including the concha) and our food was on point! Chilaquiles Trio sauces hit the spot and the classic menudo, let's just say you cant go wrong! Very disappointed on how this location charge $1 for the bread on the cafe de olla. The original location come with it. They also don't serve alcohol in this location. My friend asked for a bowl but they didn't have a bowl to put her soup in they gave her a cup and it spilled everywhere!! Micheladas not good whatsoever, the mix has nothing to it, I squeezed lime and lemon added salt pepper and Tabasco to make it decent, didn't even finish them. The shrimp that goes with the del Rey wasn't ready. We arrived within half hour of their opening no reason to receive cold food. Well this was not a good experience for us. Service was good, guest breakfast chorizo was NOT; everything was COLD except eggs! Plus this meal came out way earlier less than 5 min of ordering which we suspect it is premade and not to order, finally my meal came out about 10min later; taquitos which were hot and tasty. I enjoyed my cafe de olla with a concha EXCEPT for the severely chipped coffee mug. Because my guests meal was very disappointing and my meal was served later the overall experience was disappointing. Very crowded with seating close together. 3 stars is generous so I went with 2 because they tried to make it right. Came on a busy holiday brunch and loved the vibe and food! The hostesses went above and beyond to get us seated quickly inside where it was cool. The manager came to check on us multiple times as well. Every dish that we saw looked epic, and the drinks as well. Unfortunately we either didn't see or didn't receive a drink menu and had so much drink envy of the other tables! We will be back to take part in their unique happy hour service. Our food was excellent, ingredients tasting fresh and not too oily. I had the breakfast sopes and my husband had the steak & eggs. We enjoyed both and the portions were generous but not overboard. My whole family and I went for Mother's Day . Very disappointed, the chilaquiles were cold , not enough cheese,onions to cover the whole plate . The male servers( mostly all ) had long and facial hair , that' doesn't look clean at all . The patio door with lots of fingers prints . What's the purpose of the servers using gloves if everyone is touching that door and them using the same gloves over and over. What's the purpose of having a sink in the patio if is not working? I wish that I could have liked this place. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito, and it had 4 pieces of hair in the burrito. After the first hair she started pulling other hairs out. They did apologize, but we're not going back. It's too bad because the place is actually very clean inside and looks very clean but hair in the food is not good. Hairnets Please!!
