We visited Paco's Tacos & Sip during our lunch break and had a great experience overall. Ruby greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very welcoming. The food came out fresh and hot--highlights included the delicious chicken quesadilla and the birria tacos. The chips tasted freshly made and paired perfectly with the guacamole. I have been waiting to try Paco's Tacos for quite some time. I love the Bread and Honey House which is in the same Center and has the same owners, so I was expecting a lot. There's not much to this dining room. There are concrete floors, some nice lighting fixtures, and a very small bar. The area where the restroom is kind of pretty with some tile work. There's a very small salsa bar near the register with three kinds of salsa. I want to preface this by saying that I understand everybody has different tastes. That said, I did not like Paco's Tacos. Like not at all. I ordered the street Taco combo, which comes with rice, beans, and two street tacos of your choice. I chose carne asada and Pollo asada. As I started to eat my chicken taco I noticed it was sweet. I asked the other people at my table whether theirs were sweet and one person said they think that one of their tacos had a little sweetness to it. I knew mine was sweet and I didn't like that. In fact, I hated it. More on that later. I ended up picking the chicken out of my taco to avoid eating the sweet tortillas. The chicken was fine, not great not bad. Same for the carne asada--not great, not bad. Neither has that smokey char flavor I usually like. The pinto beans were fine--just plain pintos in a cup with the juice. And I hated the rice, I knew I wouldn't like it as soon as I saw it, but have it a try anyway. There was so much "flavor" in it--cumin? chili powder? I have no idea, but it was definitely not for me. So, basically, I liked the plain pinto beans my friend ordered the chips and guacamole. I do think their chips are really good - - freshly made. Fast forward to when we were leaving, and I learned that they use honey to stick the lining paper to the little plastic basket that you're good comes in. That was why my tacos were sweet, and if you know me, you know I HATE honey. I will say the girl at the register was very nice, and they we're very accommodating when someone in my party asked for no onions. They certainly aim to please, the food here just was not for me at all. But maybe it will be for you. read more

I have been here twice now. I've only tried their carne asada torta, which is delicious. My fiance has tried the birria ramen and the carne asada torta and said both are very good. The customer service is great. The young man at the register is so polite and friendly. On my last visit I noticed they are serving brunch. I definitely need to go back and try their chilaquiles. If you're looking for a great food, you definitely need to try Paco's. read more

I've been to the old location in Phoenix a few times and loved it! When I heard they were opening up a new location near me in Mesa I was super excited! I finally got to check it out. The store is much larger and plenty of seating inside and outside (an upgrade to the other location). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I went with my fav....a bean and cheese burrito. The cheese to bean ratio was perfect and tasted exactly as the Phx location, I loved every single bite! On a scale of 1 to 10, go get some Paco's if you haven't tried it! First time at Paco's Tacos. We have officially tried 3/4 of the restaurants in this plaza! The young man at the counter who greeted us was very friendly & helpful with the menu as this was our first time visiting. I will say that the prices are a bit high, the portions did not correlate with that in my opinion, but the food was great. I liked the vibe inside, again, it was simple, but I did appreciate how they decorated! They have a self serve salsa bar which is always fun. However, I tried their pickled onions (one of my favorite things at Mexican food spots) & something was definitely wrong with the flavor. It could have just been a bad day for those though, I'd have to try them on a later visit to make sure. I got the Birria tacos. They came with beans and rice. The tacos were delicious! I tried Hopes Frybread recently and was intrigued by the other restaurants in the strip mall. Paco's peaked my interest the most out of them all, so I went today. All I can say is "Incredible" from the service, to the vibes and atmosphere and to the food... especially the food... I could not stop myself from thinking how incredible and authentic this food was. I found myself just staring into the void and only focusing on my tastebuds dancing with joy. The blend of Mexican spices was on point and I loved the El Lotes in a cup. Creative and fun, and less messy than legit El Lotes from the El Lotes cart in your local neighborhood. The flavors were right up there with authentic street El Lotes and I would dare to say in some ways it's better. The chilaquiles breakfast burrito was also awesome. From the size of it I was thinking that it was just going to have the wrong ratios, but it was great. Braised beef, fried egg, Mexican rice, chilaquiles and chiles. Food was amazing. My husband and I got the 2 tacos with rice and beans and an extra taco on the side. We ordered Birria Carne asada and Pastor. Each had its unique taste that was delicious. With the 2 taco combo it was paired with rice and beans. The beans were so creamy and delicious and the rice had the perfect taste. Very friendly customer service, we chose the street taco platter, the meat had zero flavor, seemed like it had been re heated, the rice side dish was definately not fresh, tasted plasticky and was very dry. Beans were bland but at least tasted like they were fresh. The salsas were good and needed as the chicken and carnitas were dry and again zero flavor. Not returning as by the time we both got home we had the runs. Needs attention to detail, not worth the money.
