We make a point to come here every time we're in Phoenix--it's that good. We live on the East Coast now, and there's honestly nothing like this back home. The heat level is bold (in the best way) and everything is so flavorful and fresh. I especially love the roast pork, but really, everything we've tried--from the cheese crisps to the combo plates--has been consistently delicious. If you go, definitely order "Christmas style" with both red and green salsa. The hospitality is always warm and welcoming, too. We used to live in AZ and came as often as we could, and now it's the one place we always make sure to visit whenever we're back in town. We always order extra tortillas to freeze and take home to savor until our next trip back, and we plan on ordering tamales to ship for the holidays! Can't wait until our next visit! read more

Came here expecting authentic New Mexican food and left completely disappointed. This place is NOT authentic New Mexican cuisine. The flavors were off and nothing tasted like the real thing. To make matters worse, I specifically asked our waiter if a certain dish was spicy because we were dining with our child. He assured me it wasn't spicy at all. It absolutely was, and our child couldn't even eat it. Then my child's quesadilla came out without the sides that were supposed to come with it. We had to ask about it after everyone else was already eating. Between the misleading information, missing food, and lack of authentic New Mexican dishes, this was a very disappointing experience. Had the best lunch here today, have probably been here half a dozen times but I don't think I've ever eaten... only drank and had chips/salsa. Today went in and had the adovada ribs, no cheese and extra tortillas and it was incredible. Always friendly service! Went on a Saturday afternoon after the lunch rush and were seated almost immediately. Everything had good flavor, however the shredded beef tacos were a bit bland. But if you can handle the heat and out some of their hot sauce on it, it's pretty good. Our favorites were the calabacitas and the enchiladas. read more

The food here is so good. You will not be disappointed. My friend has been coming here for years and she introduced me to this place. I had the bean and cheese burrito and it was so yummy. I had not been to Los Dos in over 20 years. But my wife always hears about it and she wanted to try it. This despite her not liking spicy food. She got the Grande Burro and I got the cheese crisp with shredded beef. We shared the guacamole. This was all for take out. The food was pretty good. The best thing was when I mentioned my wife wanted her burrito smothered but didn't like spicy sauces, the very nice lady gave us samples of 3 sauces to try! They were excellent and yes spicy but if you only use a little bit each bite, it was really good! The food was ready on time. Parking in front is pretty small and was full but you can park in back of the restaurant too. Los Dos is a little far from our house but we will probably go back again sometime. read more

We had an excellent experience here. The service was ok, and the space was very no frills, but the food was absolutely insane. The salsas were insanely spicy for me but we got guacamole so help with the burn and we also had the chorizo dip and a pitcher of their Kick-a** Margaritas, which were indeed kick a**! The guacamole was delicious, and the chorizo dip was also amazing but also spicy, I was fighting for my life by the end of the meal but it was so worth it! I had the pulled beef burrito with rice and a side of sour cream and it was genuinely some of the best food I've had at a Mexican restaurant. We first started coming here to Los Dos nearly 10 years ago and that was after we had eaten at Los Dos in Springerville years ago. What a disappointment this place has become. I realize it is close to the holidays and we were prepared to deal with a crowd maybe, but that wasn't the excuse for todays experience. When we arrived NO one would acknowledge we were in the restaurant, worse, no one ever did. Plenty of staff passed by without a single word. After standing around the door for 10 minutes we started to wander around the restaurant looking for someone to help or someplace to sit. We located a booth in the bar area on our own, there were actually 5 booths available to choose from there. At least another 15 minutes passed before someone brought us a menu and water. The four of us looked over the menus only to wait again a full half hour for someone to return to the table and take our meal orders. I was ready to leave but our out of town guests wanted us to stick it out. With food orders now taken, it would take nearly an hour before any meals were delivered to the table. Our two guests said their food was luke warm to cold. I had the flautas and they were tasteless and dry. I thought I would order some salsa for the flautas to spice them up a bit but NO ONE came anywhere near our table for the duration of the evening meal. We chose to just finish what we could and look for a check so we could pay and get out of there. It was another 20 minutes to get a check, then going to the check-out was next. There were 4 of us in line at the check-out. I was the only one there paying for meals the others were there to get take-out orders. It was a good 10 minutes before someone breezed by the check out with dirty dishes in hand asking us how they could help. I just wanted to pay the ticket and get out of there, likely for the last time. What has become of this place? 2.5 hours of poor service and marginal food is our lasting holiday memory for the once good Los Dos Molino's. read more

OUCH!! Haven't been there in YEARS. I wanted to meet friends at a place I haven't been to in a while for? Mexican food. I messed up asking them to meet me there and heard about it ALL night long and the next day. Input: chicken taco meat had NO flavor. Like they boiled chicken then added to the tortillas. OH..... the tortillas were all rubbery. We all scrapped our proteins out of the taco, on to the plate. The cheeses crisp was warm with un-melted cheese on top on a uncooked tortilla. I've NEVER asked before for a restaurant to put the cheese crisp back in the oven. The salsa was good. One person left their taco on the plate and we left. This was on Taco Tuesday with the place almost empty. Also one person drove past because there isn't lighted signage. I used to go to their original restaurant south of Phoenix. Have never been disappointed here with the food, good for spicy food. Wife had the pork Carnitas and I had the adovada casserole, both dishes were amazing, this place has never disappointed us. Got there when they first opened sat right away took our order right away. Very friendly food came out quick was everything we ordered. It was delicious. Nice atmosphere inside bright and uppity. It was lunchtime so there's a few groups in there talking, but never bothered us. read more

Love this family restaurant. I started going to the original place in Springerville and then when I moved to the valley continued visiting there. Now every time I return to Phoenix I have at least one meal at one of their 3 restaurants. Can't recommend them enough. read more

If a restaurant knows they have a big event that will affect their service, they should either close the rest of the restaurant down or have more servers working to keep up with the other patrons. It shouldn't have taken 40 minutes to just get water, chips & salsa! It shouldn't have taken one of us talking to a bus boy to get a server to come take our drink orders. Telling us that the service is going to take extra long cuz of the event shouldn't be reason enough to not get our order right, or make us go to the bar to get a drink that we had already order but never got. Needless to say, our party of 8 was not happy with the food, drinks or extra slow service. We will definitely not be coming back nor will we recommend this place at all! read more

We went for my birthday with my family and I had been there before and wasn't too pleased because everything was so spicy. This time I took the time to read the menu and found my daughter and my daughter-in-law. Both are gluten-free and I do low-carb. This is like the perfect restaurant to go to. Los Dos Mesa is the only Los Dos for me! I am not sure how the family branches off for the different locations but this is the only one that offers alternates like vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. My boyfriend has sworn by the food at the one off Central, and now with the vegan options in Mesa, I will say the same great care and taste is added to these meals. Make sure you always start with the homemade guacamole and chips. It is amazing! Make sure you try out the Dos Los in Mesa it is well worth it! read more

I have been eating there for over 35 years! I always have a great time and great food. I have gotten to know most all of the people there and they always take good care of me.
