It's literally a small, run down looking shack for lack of better word, in front of a trailer park community on Main St. If I had not read the glowing reviews I probably would not have noticed it, or decided to try. Would have just driven by. It's small, like 4 or 5 tables inside with paper menus plastered across the walls, but everything is delicious so I'll definitely be back to try other items. We had breakfast burritos, which to be fair are pretty hard to mess up imo, but the flavor was there and lets me know that other, more complex items might be really good too. The woman behind the counter was super nice and food was prepared quickly. We brought it home. I can't remember my thoughts on the red & green sauce, it was solid I believe. We did chorizo and breakfast special burrito. I want to come back for lunch since they close at 3pm, however I think the menu said "dinner" on it. read more

Went to Adrian's Mexican Food in Mesa, and it definitely didn't disappoint. This was my second visit. The first time I had the chicken mole with their homemade flour tortillas, and it was excellent. The mole had a great balance of flavor, and mixing that sauce with the rice was the perfect combination. On my second visit, I couldn't decide, so I ordered two plates. The menudo was packed with flavor and tasted homemade. I also dug into the chorizo and eggs, and that plate was just as good. The restaurant itself is older and on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you. Was recommended by multiple people so I thought to try it. It's very much a quaint little hole in the wall and not flashy. The cashier/server was very friendly. They do have very limited hours so only available for breakfast or lunch. The food was good but felt slightly pricey. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was very tasty but not massive. I ordered the hot salsa but it wasn't hot at all. Still it was way better than filberto's overall. I ended up getting a dozen tortillas to go and they were amazing. Also the location is kind of rough due to the light rail but that's not their fault. It's very easy to drive right past it and then you have to do an annoying Loop to get back to it so keep an eye out. Only four stars because of price but other than that it was still great. We LOVED Adrian's. I had the machaca beef and eggs. Rich, flavorful, different than what I'd had before. Their horchata and pina are delicious. My husband had a special burrito with both the red and green chili and could not stop eating it -- though he could have saved half for another meal. My daughter's quesadilla with guac and their fresh, fresh pico de gallo was great. Service was wonderful and staff suggested new ways of putting food together that made it better. I absolutely love Adrian's. Every single time I'm in Arizona (once a year in March for MLB Spring Training). I love the homemade tortillas and all of the breakfast burritos. The service/staff is always very courteous and friendly. The restaurant itself is very small. I've never actually eaten inside. But I see plenty of people doing it. I usually grab some burritos for the family before heading to Sloan Park for a Cubs game. It's a definitely staple for us. We look forward to it all year. We know that when we're going to Arizona that we'll be getting Adrian's. We love it. It's worth the trip. read more

Adrian's was recommended to me by a friend when I asked him for some good breakfast spots in Mesa. I always try to avoid chain restaurants when I can and dive places are even better. He told me this would be a dive and he was right! It reminds me a lot of Bobos in Tucson. Very small but serves fairly priced breakfast and lunch items. I got the Chiliquiles breakfast plate which came with my choice of a corn or flour tortilla (always go corn when given the option). The tortilla was fresh and tasted really good with the red salsa. Chiliquiles was also delicious but I underestimated the portion size. Ended up taking some home to my wife to share later. I definitely want to go back and try some lunch items. Parking will be a challenge, but if you can get there early or park within walking distance, you should be all set. For the price and portion sizes, I definitely recommend Adrian's for an authentic Mexican breakfast. read more

The flavor on the Chorizo was amazing and the burrito wasn't completely greasy as sometimes happens when you add chorizo. Food was okay. I got the carne asada plate. The meat itself did not look like carne asada, it was extremely thin. It did not have much flavor. The green enchiladas were good. I'd recommend getting that instead. They do serve complementary chips and salsa, but we didn't get it till we asked. The salsa wasn't the best, kinda of bland. The restaurant itself is in a more run down part of Mesa right next to a small mobile home park. The restaurant is pretty small too, I saw maybe 5 tables for dine-in guests. I had been craving chilaquiles all weekend. Since I was in the area after an appointment, I figured I'd try them out from Adrian's since it had been on my bookmarks list for a while. The chilaquiles is probably one of the most expensive things on their menu at a little over $10 after tax, but they pack a lot of food in your order. I got 2 eggs, refried beans, a generous serving of tortilla chips with red sauce, some pieces of thin steak, tortillas, and salsa. It didn't take too long for them to make it and I was ready to go back home and enjoy my breakfast feast! When I opened up my to go box it looked like a hot mess but it was a delicious hot mess. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with a lovely runny yolk. The tortilla chips were lightly crisp, and while the steak was fairly tender and I saw seasoning on it, it wasn't as flavor-packed as the rest of the meal.
