    Shrimp cocktail
    April A.

We were in the area and was hungry so we decided to to give this place a try. I loved the patio, it was such a great night for sitting outside. The shrimp cocktail was so good it was a little spicy but with great flavor. The taco and enchilada was great with the green sauce. The mango margarita packed a nice punch. The waitress was great.

Decided to stop by yesterday afternoon with my friends and we loved it. Everything was amazing from the food to the service ! The restaurant is very homey, but the food is good we got the enchiladas, the carne asada torta & the pozole they were all very good but the pozole could use some more seasoning but its okay because the service made up for it! Marisela was such an outstanding server, very knowledgeable of the menu & super attentive! If you decide to stop by here make sure to ask for her. We'll definitely be coming back for the enchiladas , the aguas frescas & to be served by Marisela for making it a memorable experience!

Still some of the best menudo around. The bowls are always loaded with meat and hominy. Everything else I've tried has been tasty as well!

What a hidden gem in Mesa! My day kicked off at 6 AM with an early meeting in Tempe, followed by another one right here in Mesa on this gorgeous Sunday. One of my Mexican clients heard I'm obsessed with Menudo soup and raved about this spot--they do all-you-can-eat (and drink!) Menudo. Sold! By the time my meetings wrapped up around 3 PM, I was starving--no breakfast or lunch in sight. This place is tucked away and looks more like a cozy house than a restaurant, but don't let that fool you. Walked in, and the servers were super welcoming--seated me immediately. I dove straight into the Menudo, and it arrived piping hot in just 15 minutes. The complimentary chips and salsa were on point--warm, crispy chips with a salsa that's flavorful and spicy (a bit much for my taste buds, but still delish!). Opted for the white Menudo (they have red too, but I'm a white soup kinda guy), and oh man, it was perfection. So flavorful and satisfying! The food and service blew me away--I was so impressed, I left a 100% tip. I'll definitely be back soon. If you love authentic Mexican vibes and killer Menudo, check this place out! #MesaEats #MenudoLover #HiddenGem

Amazing spot! Food is always delicious! The staff are always super friendly and half off drinks for Happy hour!

Menudo and an ice cold Pacifico!

Came in on a rainy Saturday morning! Young lady in front seated me right away and brought out the chips and salsa which were both very good. Ordered the menudo and a Pacifico. The Pacifico was served in a chilled mug and the Menudo came out quickly! Menudo was very good, tortilla de harina was hot and very good. Service was excellent! They do have a patio area but because of the rain I was seated inside. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu!

    Cadillac margarita! Yummo!

This is the perfect little Mexican dive bar restaurant! I love to come here. Food has been delicious every time...I think we've been there five or six times. The cocktails are yummy and the foos is exactly what you think of a Mexican restaurant of having. It seems clean and my husband says it is the best huevos rancheros on the planet. He is an excellent authority on them as he is almost 70 and has ordered them hundreds of times in hundreds of restaurants. If the man says they're the best you should listen! The service can sometimes be a spotty. I think it is family owned and when they are busy it can be slow or they forget something, but they always make it right and and are very accommodating. This is my new favorite. My niece came with us the last time we went and she was very upset that she was leaving and couldn't go back before her plane left. Yes the food is THAT yummy.

    Huevos Rancheros & Beans. Flavorful!

We wanted a margarita for lunch and the business next door recommended this place. The waitress as well as staff were very friendly. We ordered a menudo bowl and huevos rancheros. Everything was delivered pretty quick even though the place was busy with lunch patrons. Now the margarita? Wish I could have ordered a gallon to go. They had some kick to them! Would come here again. Overall great place with nicely decorated interior and exterior patio!!

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

Nice cuts, tender and not dry at all. Definitely a fan. Enjoyed both the nachos and the fajitas. Good serving sizes. Also, loved the staff! They were super friendly and welcoming. They offered to take my empty plate as I was about to. They also bud farewell to guests as they left. Felt like a really warm family place. Well lit, fun decor, clean. Very enjoyable - will be back!

I'm posting this review for two reasons - The first being because the manager passed the restaurant phone over to the supposed "owner" after I called within five minutes of getting home to tell them the chips and taco shells tasted like they were fried in old, rancid oil. The manager told me she could offer a credit and when I said I would prefer the refund to my card is when she went to get the "owner". I'm fairly sure I wasn't an asshole to her. I was pretty peeved at this point because we're talking about almost $16 of the $49.11 which was the cost of the food I ordered before tax and tip. I work in the service industry/for tips too so I get it. I'm well aware of the price increase of everything everywhere!!! Before going to Ritos I waited in a line of 10 cars at Sam's Club for gas and gas was $49.65. So there's that. The "owner" also reiterated that a refund would only be given if I brought the food back. I'm sorry, but, I live 15 minutes away from Mesa Riverview. My employer was 30 minutes from the restaurant. I sure as f*ck wasn't going to get my ass back in my car and drive back to Ritos to give them shitty tacos and chips. They told me they would offer a credit for next time for chips and 2 tacos - and I guess that's acceptable but my question is - how are you going to provide that when you don't have my number or an email address for me? And aren't chips typically complimentary at a Mexican food restaurant when you dine in? The manager had the audacity to say that the oil was changed, the chips and tacos are cooked in different vats, the cost of meat has gone up and "everyone is feeling it." That's quite the level of audacity. I'm to the point where I don't give a about your credit and if I want Ritos I'll drive even more out of my way to the Garfield or 7th Street location. I'm more pissed off about the "owner's" attitude than I am about the $2.55 chips I threw in the trash. And the taco shells didn't taste too rancid drowning the inside in salsa. My mother was in her bedroom in the back of the house (I was in the kitchen) and just told me she could hear the owner yelling at me and what a sh*tty way to do business. Keep your credit, I won't be back to your locatiom to dine in OR take food to go. PS - Change your raunchy ass oil. As you said, consumers pay *way too much* to get home with a To Go order to have to throw it away because oil isn't changed frequently enough.
