We ordered takeout since our kiddos aren't into Mexican food. They were quick and despite a 20+ minute wait to take our first bite, it was delicious. It was super flavorful and maybe a tad bit on the salty side. We ordered the beef enchiladas with red sauce and carnitas chimichanga with a side of the green sauce. The sauce was so good especially the green sauce. The chimichanga was still crunchy on the edges and packed with meat. Just writing this makes my mouth water again. It came with rice and beans which was also tasty. Would definitely come here again when we are in town. Thanks for a great meal! read more

We had dinner at this Mexican restaurant since it was near hotel stay, and we have eaten several times here. Food and service is good. However, this last time it was an unpleasant one. We found a strand of hair in the rice in my husband's dish. We made our server aware of it, he just asked if we needed another serving of rice and he apologized. With this type of unsanitary/uncleanliness service, the server didn't at least offer a discount of the dish. Not sure if we will be returning to this establishment. I hope they will correct it and make the cooks wear hairnets. We give it a one star. read more

I went on Saturday around 5:30p. There were t many people there so we were seated immediately. The restaurant decor was your typical Mexican restaurant decor. The chips and salsa and waitress came immediately and took our drink orders, which, since it was still Happy Hour, we ordered a couple of margaritas. For our entrees we ordered the Chile Relleno Chimichanga which comes smothered in a jalapeño cream cheese sauce which is my favorite and the Buld your own with: Fish taco, Chicken enchilada and Green Corn Tamale. Both dishes came with rice and beans. The food was delicious, that all I can really say. The first bite immediately had me knowing I was going to finish the whole burrito, even though I know I shouldn't have. La Casa de Juana has a tamed down menu to accommodate their clientele and not very authentic. There is nothing wrong with that. It is down the street from my almost 80 year old mother who can't handle chili anymore and her flavor palette is now set on basic. She had the chicken enchiladas and I had a piping hot bowl of albóndigas. Having a very hot bowl of caldo brought me back to my days as a kid where Nana would tell you to eat it so you cool down. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but it does make the heat manageable outside. Mom enjoyed her plate and I have to say the arroz verde is a bit of a surprise. Not anything you would see in most Mexican food joint. It was flavorful and not anything I would have expected. The dining area is very big with a small bar. It is very clean. I had very high hopes for this restaurant. The website boasted authentic Mexican food so I was ready to give it a try. First off, the ambiance gets a 5/5. The place was decorated in a way that made it fun to look around. Hand painted murals were everywhere. Service was a 4/5. There was not a lot of people in the restaurant and I feel like it took a decent amount of time for the food to be brought out and the check to be brought. Server was nice though. The food was a 3/5. To start off we got the dip trio (queso, guacamole, and bean dip) and this dish was very underwhelming. It all had a premade taste and texture to it. The queso was very cream cheese forward which struck me as odd, and the beans were thick. Not a typical bean dip consistency. The guacamole looked like cheese and pico were thrown on top and had too smooth of a texture. Like it was blended or premade. Next came the entree. First thing I noticed was the creamy jalapeño sauce I paid extra to be topped on my enchiladas was the exact same sauce that was supposed to be "queso". The beans and guacamole that came on my plate were the same as the beans and guac in the dip trio. Honestly the only thing that made me rate the restaurant this high was the meat. Quiet and comfortable. This eatery got busy right when we walked in. We were on a time crunch since we only get a 30 minutes lunch and my wife and I wanted to try something new (probably a bad thought process). There was 1, only 1, server in the dinning room. This slowed some of the service, but WOW did she do amazing, she was quick, attentive, and friendly. This is a colorful, cute place to grab some Mexican food. Their menu is large, with all the stuff you would expect: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, fajitas, rice and beans. It's a typical American sit-down Mexican place, with chips and salsa to start and plenty of heavy, savory dishes. They have vegetarian options, good drink deals, and solid service. I always feel like I over eat when I'm here, and I always bring home a little bit of leftovers. Whatever you end up getting, my sisters and I recommend a side of the creamy jalapeño sauce. Tried this once a year ago via delivery and liked it. While put running and finishing errands, I got hungry and decided to stop in for a late lunch and I am happy I did! I love the decor and welcoming feeling of this fine restaurant. I had an awesome waitress who checked on me and kept my drink filled and even gave me a Coke Zero to go as I was leaving! How's that for too-notch service? I got the 2 item Lunch Combo Platter and chose a chili relent and a beef enchilada for my choices and had rice and beans. Very, very delicious and filled me up plus I enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa you get when you dine in. The dining room was so clean and well stocked and I enjoyed looking at all the Mexican decor throughout the restaurant. This is a local business and I love giving back to local business and do so whenever possible because they work so hard for the customers. This business has been through an emotional time lately as well so I am glad I could dine in and give my support to them. First time! This gem of a place is tucked back into the Fry's plaza off of 40th street and Chandler. Ambiance: 5 Gorgeous visually. I came just past lunchtime during the week so was quiet. Service: 5 The server was kind, courteous, attentive! Cost: 5 Average to other places Food: 4 I tried a couple of my lunchtime favorites bean tostada, cheese enchilada, cheese crisp, fresh guacamole, and some dessert. I gave a 4 because I wish everything was a bit hotter and I don't mean spicy. The cheese crisp was not really crispy and the cheese was not completely melted and the same with my cheese enchilada on the inside. I do hope they do better in the evening. In addition, the Flan Napolitano was actually more Cheesecake than flan. I understand Napolitano is typically right in between traditional Mexican Flan and cheesecake....anyways this was actually straight cheesecake and although it was brown on the top there was no caramel sauce or flavor. Disappointment. However, It could have just been this batch, who knows. It's not enough to keep me away though! I cannot wait to try more menu items on my next visit. The Guacamole was superb! Also had mango on it which just put it to the top of my most favorite place for guacamole now!!!! The spicy salsa was great. Although I did have to request it. Pretty decent Mexican food, spoken by someone who used to know good TexMex but can't find anything resembling good food in Colorado these days. The stuffed sliced jalapeños were different from regular fried jalapeños but still pretty tasty. The chicken and steak fajitas actually tasted like fajitas I remember, which is a very good thing. The serving size was big and I had leftover to take home. My nephew ordered a steak burritos, extra large. He enjoyed it but he also said that he wished the burrito was less salty.
