First time here since moving to the area. Great experience. We went during Happy Hour. Our waitress was Briana and she was on it! Making sure our drinks and chips were stocked before they went empty. She was very personable and made me want to ask her to be my friend because she was so lovely haha! Chips were served with a mild and spicy salsa, both of which were delectable. I loved the HH house frozen margarita. You could tell there was tequila in there but it wasn't overwhelming. We then ordered the elote dip... definitely recommend! My boyfriend and I had a nice experience here. We stumbled in on accident on the last game for the World Cup. We got super lucky and were able to sit at the bar, open seating, with the TVs. There are regulars that come in and seem to have a good rapport with the staff and they love the food. It was a bit of a rush time and there was only one bartender so service was a bit slow. We did get some chips and salsa as we waited. Good chips, airy and crispy. The salsa was OK. I'm personally just not a fan of roasted salsa. Their beer was crisp and thoroughly cold which was refreshing. I tried the amor de mango and it was tasty. I can't remember my first drink either. It was a Paloma or a margarita, but i didn't enjoy as much, which is why I changed my next drink. The chimi trio was very tasty and full of flavor, one bean one chicken one beef, all good. Then we got the carnitas cheese crisp which was interesting and had good flavor. I would order both again. Service was pretty good. Like I said, the bartender was busy working by himself and when one of his coworkers noticed, we didn't have any more water then she would come by and help so that was appreciated. It s good date spot, or catching up with a friend or just grabbing a bite to eat and drink for yourself. I look forward to coming back and trying entrees. My only hope is that during the hot bright times they lower the shades and get more shades. Hands down, one of my favorite places! The food is always fresh, the staff is great, and the prices are excellent for the quality and portions you get. You start off with complimentary homemade chips and salsa. The chips are always fresh and crispy, and the salsa has a delicious smoky flavor with just the right amount of heat. If you're looking for a good drink, the mango margarita is honestly one of the best I've had. The watermelon agua fresca is another favorite--it's crisp, refreshing, and has just the right amount of sweetness. As for the food, some of my favorites are the pozole, Pick Two Tacos, and the Famous Carnitas, which is also one of my husband's favorites. He usually goes for the Burro Combo, Chile Verde, or Famous Carnitas. You really can't go wrong with any of them! This time, I ordered the carnitas, and they were so good. The meat was seasoned perfectly, tender, and had a nice bite to it. The portion is also very generous, especially with the rice and beans. I almost always end up taking leftovers home, which is definitely a plus. The atmosphere is another reason I enjoy coming here. It's casual, comfortable, and relaxing, and they also have outdoor seating if you prefer to sit outside. If you're looking for a family-friendly spot with great food, generous portions, good drinks, and reasonable prices, definitely give this place a try. Great ambiance as you walk in. Our server brought us delicious chips that were warm, crispy and have a nice amount of salt. They also brought a mild AND hot salsa which I appreciated because I love heat!! I love tacos and tamales so I was delighted to see that I could pick 2 items from the menu as my dinner. What a gem! We were served complimentary chips and spicy dried red salsa. For appetizers, we shared a bowl of elote. It was made with real corn from the cob (not canned corn). It was good. I ordered pozole (red). The meat was SO tender. The portion was also huge. The tortilla it came with, I'm not sure if it was homemade but it felt like it. Hubby & I had dinner here last night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us right away. We opted for inside. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly & on top of it. I really wanted to love this restaurant. Hubby ordered a beer & I ordered a red sangria. His beer was good & cold. My sangria had a good taste, but was a little weak. You get chips, mild salsa & spicy salsa. I did not like the mild salsa. It tasted like tomato sauce and chili powder. Hubby said the spicy salsa had a back heat that was pretty spicy. Hubby ordered the chicken fajitas with black beans. That's normally what I get, but I had read they were bland. I warned him, but I tried them anyway. He confirmed they were bland, but not bad when paired with the rice, beans, etc. You only get 1 tortilla, but you can get 2 at no additional cost if you ask. I had the chicken burrito chimichanga style. It comes with chicken, refried beans & guacamole. I added sour cream. It comes with rice & your choice of beans. It was good, but lacked flavor. Had dinner here on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy! The inside isn't huge but there's a patio out front (note this kinda got some cigar smoke from the cigar bar nearby) and around the side. Our server Sam was great! She was friendly and attentive but we weren't in a hurry and never felt rushed. The chips are nice and crunchy but the salsa that comes out is more like a hot sauce, without being very hot. I would not come here for chips and salsa. I would come back for the guacamole! Or as they call it, the avocado pico. I got the three taco sampler on flour tortillas. Their flour tortillas are great! They're the thinner kind that aren't doughy. The shrimp taco was fine, just a matter of personal preference. I liked the carne asada taco better but mostly I think because of the guac. The carnitas taco was so good!! Note that a regular chunky tomato salsa came with the tacos. I wonder if you can get that instead of the hot sauce with chips? The rice is good and I chose the borracho beans, which I was surprised to find were to me, like a chili! No complaints at all, just unexpected. They were delicious. I can see why its a favorite for people. The wife got the Baja shrimp. She said it was ok but nothing that stood out. I got the carne asada. This was where it fell short. It was a thin piece of meat and parts were over cooked. It felt like shoe leather. The parts that weren't were good, tender and tasty. But I felt it had a lack of flavor for a carne asada. The rice and refried beans that came with it were great. The ambiance when you walk in was really nice but unfortunately the metal chairs we sat on were not comfortable. I have visited Isabel's Amor twice, and both experiences were good. My initial visit was on Cinco de Mayo, where my husband and I went with a few friends. The restaurant featured special offers and performances that day. My second visit was months later when we had family in town who requested Mexican food. The space is warm and welcoming, with seating options both indoors and outdoors. They were very busy on Cinco de Mayo so service was understandably off that night. Service was much better on my second visit. Between the two trips, I had the chance to sample several items, including a spicy margarita, street corn, shrimp ceviche, and the pescado del mercado. The drinks were great, and the food was delicious. I ordered the pescado del mercado on both occasions. During my first visit, the fish was somewhat bland, but it had more flavor the second time around. The entree portions are pretty big; most of our entrees came with rice, beans, and a salad. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert on both visits, but I will definitely save room for it next time! read more

Me and my husband go here every Sunday and there service, and food is top notch. We go here so often because of how consistent they are.

I really want to love this place but I'm just not feeling it. I'm a fan of Someburros (owned by the same family) and I understand creating a nicer, full service restaurant, however I feel like I'm lost on this one. My daughter and her husband love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back there again in the future but I've been there 3 times in the last couple of years and the hype of it is lost on me. The restaurant itself is quite loud and echoey and the metal chairs make an awful noise when they're slid on the floors or when a server/hostess tries to slide two tables together for a larger party. The food is just okay for the price. I tried their Famous Carnitas and was underwhelmed. I make it myself, at home, so I was really hoping theirs would be nicer level. The beans are good, the rice was okay, the tortillas were delicious. Next time I'll try yet another dish and see if that one hits the spot. My friend and I visited Isabel's on a Wednesday afternoon and let me tell you I'd did not disappoint. The margarita was strong and the chips crisp. The salsa with the chips was great. So many times it just taste like tomato sauce. But this was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. On the waiter's recommendation I got the Pollo Especial and it was amazing! Think fajitas in a creamy jalepeno sour cream sauce with hatch chile and onions. Served with a fresh tortilla (ask for an extra tortilla) and rice and beans. I ended up having to bring half of it home. It was such a generous portion. My friend got a wet chimichanga and said it was one of the best she has had in a long time. Highly recommend! If you can make it for happy hour get the carnitas cheese crisp. We saw it on so many tables as we left and it looked amazing. Sad that we did not indulge! This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food, the drinks, and the service are all top-notch. We have been here countless times; on one or two occasions there were minor issues, all addressed immediately. I am fairly certain that we have tried every single item on the menu. My favorite is the Pozole (I have had both the red and green, both are delicious) and my husband is a big fan of the Carnitas. I definitely always steal a few bites of that dish! I can also recommend the house margarita. The prices here are very reasonable for the quality of food. It is not great for a date night, as it is usually packed and crazy loud. I really loved my experience here. We were held by Emma and Hunter. Hunter looked like Glenn Powell.. He was a great waiter who could almost read my mind. We got Spanish corn, which was phenomenal and then I shared a Carne Asada plate with my wife. It was definitely enough for two. They had these awesome tortillas that somebody makes homemade. We got lucky on an 85° night. Gotta eat outside. It was wonderful. I highly recommend getting a side of the red enchilada sauce. Now I see why they're rated the number one restaurant in Gilbert. Unplanned stop at Isabel's amor after our long drive and late arrival back in town, everyone was hungry so we saw this place and decided to go in and try out, since we had heard of it through friends. It was ok, I think the meal was flavorful but a bit salty & greasy to my taste, huge portion. I didn't really like the complimentary salsa as I thought it was too thick and just not what I normally would like on a Mexican restaurant. The service was great, I was greeted and seated promptly, the restaurant is cute, smallish, cozy vibes. We were hungry so we ate our meals but I admit it was not my favorite. Went to Isabel's Amor and had an awesome experience from start to finish. The vibe is great, but what really stood out was the service--and the food absolutely lives up to it. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen knows exactly what they're doing. Anthony P., Ryan, and Ben at the bar are seriously top-tier. They're quick, personable, and clearly know their craft. Even when things get busy, they keep everything running smoothly while still making you feel taken care of. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it shows. Sam, our waitress, was just as impressive. She was attentive the entire time without hovering, super friendly, and on top of every detail. I've been to this Mexican restaurant a few times and have had a nice experiences. I would highly recommend getting there early on a weekend like we did. Because they do not take reservations and if you wait until 6:30 to go out for dinner you will wait. I ordered the Pollo asada borro enchilada style and it was very good a nice size portion for a reasonable price. The chips and salsa are good too. The service was outstanding. This restaurant has a very refined feel to it when you walk in. I would consider it to be a more upscale Mexican dining environment than a lot of the other Mexican restaurants you would go to. They have a great patio and when it's cooler they do feature live music on the weekends which is fun. read more
