    Chicken enchiladas

Great ambiance as you walk in. Our server brought us delicious chips that were warm, crispy and have a nice amount of salt. They also brought a mild AND hot salsa which I appreciated because I love heat!! I love tacos and tamales so I was delighted to see that I could pick 2 items from the menu as my dinner. I chose the chicken tamale and grilled shrimp taco. Both were delicious. The tamale had a good amount of chicken, not over loaded with masa. I also choose black beans instead of refried beans. My husband chose the enchiladas and said they were very tasty.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. The entire staff was friendly. The margarita was amazing I can't wait to come back and try the margarita flights.

I was surprisingly impressed with this restaurant. The Chicken Fajitas and Mini Chimi Trios were delicious and had good portions. The service was excellent. The restaurant is not large so there are limited tables. I highly recommend making dinner reservations. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table. They also have a weekday Happy Hour.

What a gem! We were served complimentary chips and spicy dried red salsa. For appetizers, we shared a bowl of elote. It was made with real corn from the cob (not canned corn). It was good. I ordered pozole (red). The meat was SO tender. The portion was also huge. The tortilla it came with, I'm not sure if it was homemade but it felt like it. All the food comes out super quickly, and the staff was really good at checking in on us. They were also super friendly. I would really love to come back!

First time. Very nice place. I had the Chili Verde. Chips and salsa were good. Wish you got more than one tortilla because it was fabulous. I'll be back

Service was slow but the waitress was super friendly and attentive with refilling water. The food was delicious and it came out very quickly. I had the steak fajitas and it had flavor with the veggies. It was quiet for a Sunday night. I love the interior decor like the lights hanging on each table set and the antique paintings on the wall next to the bar where we were seated. Got this restaurant off my bucket list of places to try.

The restaurant itself is very beautiful and the service here was great. We had a large party of about eight people and they let us make reservation. We were seated promptly. The strawberry margarita was quite delicious However, sadly the salsa was rather lacking and the Pollo especial was rather flavorless, even though it still was spicy it did not taste like much. Not my favorite meal - also was a little bit pricey. Happy hour ends at five so you have to get here early if you want to get a good deal on anything

Hubby & I had dinner here last night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us right away. We opted for inside. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly & on top of it. I really wanted to love this restaurant. Hubby ordered a beer & I ordered a red sangria. His beer was good & cold. My sangria had a good taste, but was a little weak. You get chips, mild salsa & spicy salsa. I did not like the mild salsa. It tasted like tomato sauce and chili powder. Hubby said the spicy salsa had a back heat that was pretty spicy. Hubby ordered the chicken fajitas with black beans. That's normally what I get, but I had read they were bland. I warned him, but I tried them anyway. He confirmed they were bland, but not bad when paired with the rice, beans, etc. You only get 1 tortilla, but you can get 2 at no additional cost if you ask. I had the chicken burrito chimichanga style. It comes with chicken, refried beans & guacamole. I added sour cream. It comes with rice & your choice of beans. It was good, but lacked flavor. We both liked the rice. It had a good flavor. Both beans were good as well. There's no reason to return especially for the price & lack of flavor.

Beans. No just the carne I ordered.

Food is good but they never get the my order right. Carne asada burrito just meat and pico. They always add beans. If I wanted beans I would ask. Eat there and ask for just Carne it happens they add beans, pick up it happens, and how do you check before getting home? Take a bite before you leave ????

Found Isabel's Amor on the seed oil scout app with a rating indicating that they use only lard, not seed oils. Decided to give it a try, loved it, went back several times, and have loved everything so far! My favorite is a Carne Asada plate with refried beans. The salsa that comes out with the chips is like red chili if you're into that! The service is always extremely well mannered and helpful, prices are reasonable, and quality of food is consistent.

I have visited Isabel's Amor twice, and both experiences were good. My initial visit was on Cinco de Mayo, where my husband and I went with a few friends. The restaurant featured special offers and performances that day. My second visit was months later when we had family in town who requested Mexican food. The space is warm and welcoming, with seating options both indoors and outdoors. They were very busy on Cinco de Mayo so service was understandably off that night. Service was much better on my second visit. Between the two trips, I had the chance to sample several items, including a spicy margarita, street corn, shrimp ceviche, and the pescado del mercado. The drinks were great, and the food was delicious. I ordered the pescado del mercado on both occasions. During my first visit, the fish was somewhat bland, but it had more flavor the second time around. The entree portions are pretty big; most of our entrees came with rice, beans, and a salad. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert on both visits, but I will definitely save room for it next time!

    Do they take reservations?

Do they have a back room or similar for big parties (ten to fifteen guests) that want a little more space? If so, is there a minimum order for that room/area?

They have a fairly large patio area that’s very nice. I’m pretty sure they can fit your party inside also. We love this place!

A Birthday Dinner Done Right at Origen in Gilbert!…read more I made reservations to celebrate my wife's birthday at Origen in Gilbert, and from the moment we walked through the door, it felt like we had picked the right place. First, the decor and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful. Origen has that perfect balance of upscale elegance and warmth. The wood, lighting, textures, and Mexican-inspired design create an atmosphere that feels sophisticated without feeling stuffy. There is clearly a lot of attention to detail throughout the restaurant, and it makes the entire experience feel special. Add in the live saxophone music and energy of the room, and it feels like you're going somewhere for an experience--not simply going out to eat. Then came the food. Origen does a fantastic job combining modern Mexican flavors with a steakhouse experience. The menu has plenty of choices, but everything feels intentional and elevated. The flavors were bold without being overwhelming, and the presentation made each course feel like part of the experience. From the appetizers to the entrees, we were impressed with the quality and attention to detail. And if you're a cocktail person, don't skip the cocktails. The drink menu is creative, and the cocktails aren't simply colorful drinks designed to look good--they actually have flavor and character. The mezcal-based options especially fit the restaurant's Mexican-inspired concept beautifully. It's the kind of cocktail program that makes you want to try something different instead of ordering your usual drink. But honestly, what made our night was the service. Our waitress, Ash, was phenomenal. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and--most importantly--knowledgeable about the menu. She didn't just read descriptions to us; she took the time to explain the dishes, answer our questions, and make recommendations based on what we were interested in trying. That made ordering much easier, especially with a menu that has so many interesting choices. But what really stood out was how much care Ash took to make sure my wife had a great birthday experience. She paid attention to the little things. She made my wife feel celebrated without making the evening feel forced or overdone. There was a genuine warmth to the way she interacted with us, and you could tell she understood that this wasn't just another dinner--it was an important occasion for us. That matters. Anyone can bring food to a table. Great hospitality is about making people feel seen, welcomed, and taken care of. Ash absolutely did that for us. My wife had a wonderful birthday, and as her husband, that's really what I wanted most from the evening. Origen gave us the beautiful setting, great food, creative cocktails, and atmosphere. Ash put the personal touch on the experience that made the night memorable. If you're looking for a place in Gilbert for a birthday, anniversary, date night, or just a night when you want to dress up and have a really good dinner, I'd definitely put Origen on the list. And if you're lucky enough to have Ash as your server, you're in good hands. Five stars from us. We'll definitely be back.
