Gabriel T. came out within an hour of my call and quickly fixed a deadbolt and latch on two different doors for a very reasonable price. We are having him back to install latch guards on our interior doors. He is our forever locksmith!!!!! read more

It saddens me that you don't own to your end when a bad review is published. I stand by my review...

I wanted to change my door locks at home but didn't have time to do it on my own, so I called Chicago Locksmiths and they came out the same day, within hours of the call during the estimated time, and they got it done, and had the locks already in stock in their van. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable. I won't hesitate to call them again for my future door lock needs. read more

I used to work as a property manager and Chicago Locksmiths is and always has been my go-to place for key copies (professionally and personally) and any other lock-based need. Every copy they've ever made for me has worked without fault - and at this point, it has to be 75+ keys. Stop looking at other places and just go here. read more

Chicago Locksmiths changed out my mailbox lock, fast and safely given the current state of pandemic. I messaged through Yelp on Memorial Day Sunday and they got back to me within 2 minutes! They gave me a quote which actually turned out $15 less than the estimate and pre-screened to ensure I was safe enough for them which means they are likely going to be safe enough for me (and you). The tech came within a hour and changed out my lock fast. I also liked that they checked my ID just so they new I was the owner of the place and wasn't just someone asking to pop a mailbox lock. Great job and came with three keys just so I have less of a chance of losing them again. read more

Great service! Arrived on time and within minutes their work was complete. Decent pricing, and the locksmith was able to reduce the price if paid in cash. Was even given tips on how to prevent another lockout. read more

Richard came over to do a re-key for me in August. He shaved down the door latches so they would work again, he gave me a lot of good advice and he even killed a spider for me! read more

They first quoted me 40 service charge and 65 for starting the minimal lock over the phone. The guy comes he wants to charge us an additional 40 just to rekey. I told him thats not what they quoted me. He was telling me No-one at the the place would quote me that and basically calling me a liar and calling me "woman". I said I didnt want anything done after all. He didnt have to be rude. If he would have been nicer then maybe I would have paid all the money he later said. I just don't appreciate being talked to the way he did in my own house. Chicago Locksmiths however later called to apologize and refund the service charge money and offered to send a different tech. So I will consider Chicago Locksmiths in the future. read more

Although I'm not particularly psyched about having to get new locks, I am pretty psyched about the experience I had with Chicago Locksmiths. I was in such a hurry to get them replaced that I googled "locksmith" (didn't even have time to Yelp!) and these guys were the first to come up. I put in my info for an online quote and received a phone call back in less than 5 minutes. Tory, the locksmith who assisted me, got in touch once I said I wanted to go forward with the work and explained that he would be right over after he finished at the emergency lockout he was handling. He was at my house less than 90 minutes after my first call. He gave me a good assessment of my interior deadbolt (I was worried it wasn't very secure) and explained why he recommended an upgrade on my doorknob and deadbolt. I quite honestly don't have any idea what is a reasonable price for locksmith services or parts but I appreciated his knowledge and professionalism. If you find yourself locked out or needing new locks, give these guys a call! read more

Robert was GREAT, fast and efficient. He knows what he's doing! He came in a timely manner, and he even put air in my tire!

I needed to get the locks changed on a new house, and Tory was very helpful in talking me through all the options. They were also very flexible when it came to scheduling unlike some larger companies, and Tory was always very quick to respond to emails or texts. He did a great job replacing the locks, and I was extremely satisfied with their service from beginning to end. Should I ever need additional locksmith services, I will not hesitate to use them! read more

went to this place because it was close by my house, really great service, frank was such a great help

Call these guys....ALL THE TIME for your lock needs. At a temperature of 3 degrees this morning, a key shaft broke off in the lock of our rolling security door due to the barely moving inner door locking arms . UGH!..I called 24/7's number and the wonderful Marcella (sp?) got my information and had Tory, one of their techs, call me within 10 minutes I described the situation to him and he was here in 20 minutes. He pulled out the broken key shaft, loosened up the lock and we were GREAT TO GO. Thanks Tory for your patience, diligence, expertise, and quick repair! You guys are a great team! On behalf of my office and employees THANK YOU VERY MUCH! read more

Fixed an intercom and an exterior front door that wouldn't properly latch - very happy with the service

Last night, I was locked out of my car. Luckily, I found these guys. Within 20 minutes, Rich arrived to save the day! He found a way into my trunk and car door without doing any damage to my vehicle! If you're in dire need of a locksmith, Don't hesitate to call this company! You won't regret it =] read more

I have honestly NEVER been more disappointed in a service. Things started off really well, with the company being able to meet evening hours on a day that worked perfectly for me. They even offered 20% off services for new homes. How perfect! As everyone knows, buying a home can by a very stressful process. Something like having the locks rekeyed (a total of 4 locks) should not have taken over 4 hours. The "locksmith" had to postpone service an hour due to traffic (arriving at 8pm). Fine, traffic happens, I get it. But what happens next is beyond words. While attempting to rekey the locks, two deadbolts were successful, but the two doorknobs were "falling apart" due to the door "being messed up." The "locksmith" then informed me that he would have to install two completely new doorknobs, thus increasing the price of my service by at least $70. Ok, I suppose now that the doorknobs have been destroyed I have no choice but to agree. The doorknobs were then installed, but when inspected, they were not the same style of doorknob that was previously installed, nor what I was aware was being installed. When I alerted the "locksmith" that these were not the doorknobs of the style I am accustomed, he informed me that no such type of doorknob exists. He then called his supervisor and was, in fact, informed otherwise. How one can be so certain a product in their field of work does not exist, even when it was right in front of their face not an hour earlier, is beyond my comprehension. Alas! The "locksmith" does not have this new-fangled, fancy doorknob with him. He then returns to the office to obtain it. He then returns and does not have the right latch because "who ever cut this door doesn't know what they are doing. this is standard." He then calls his supervisor, once again, and is for the second time, informed that they in fact have the exact latch he needs in the office. The office he just left. Presumably next to the doorknob he was grabbing for install. The "locksmith" returns for the final time, it is now past 11:30pm and I am the bane of my brand new neighbors existence. He then installs the front door knob and the style of knob is still not what I was looking for, nor was it what was previously installed in the unit. The back door was then installed and the door knob was installed upside down. The "locksmith" then said he would return on his day off tomorrow to adjust this, We shall see if this actually happens, my bets are he bails. I finally was rid of said "locksmith" at approximately 12:30am. Yes, that is correct it took 4.5 hours (5.5 hours if you count the hour delay) to rekey 4 locks improperly. I am completely dissatisfied. To ice the cake HE CHARGED ME $270!!! When I asked him if he had applied the 20% discount, he responded with, "well I charged you $70 instead of $100 for the commercial knobs." SERIOUSLY?! This company deserves to go down in flames. DO NOT HIRE THEM. For the record, I will be hiring another company to come in and completely replace the garbage that was installed. read more

Fast service and high quality keys! I always have to go back and have them redone when I do them at Home Depot. Plus they don't have the mover building keys. In and out in 15 minutes for 12 keys! read more

As we all know getting locked out is stressful and frustrating however this company made it a breeze! Very reasonably priced, we had DJ as our tech he was amazing so professional and quick he got the job done in no time! We were so pleased with the service all around 10/10 would recommend! read more

I managed to lock myself out of my apartment and Chicago Locksmith was able to quickly come to my aid. Both the locksmith, Tory P., and the woman I spoke with on the phone were very professional. However, they gave a quote of $50 on the phone and then after opening the door, told me that the lowest rate available was $120 and I'd have to leave a 5-star Yelp review on the spot. Yes, they will professionally open your door, but the quoted rate isn't even close to real and you should expect to leave a 5 star review to get a discount. read more

I called Jorge and he was there in under 20 minutes and had my key in about the same amount of time. Quick dependable service, and now I can enjoy the rest of my Chicago trip. read more

My husband and I had the locks to our house rekeyed and one of our gate locks replaced by Chicago Locksmiths a couple weeks ago. The response was quick - we called to schedule an appointment and they came out the same day. Mike was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and went through all our options with us without pressuring us into choosing any particular option. He told us the pluses and minuses of rekeying versus replacing all the locks and helped us make the best choice for us. Since we have many gates and doors that needed to be rekeyed, it took a few hours, but everything turned out well and we were highly satisfied with the process and results. Thanks Mike for all your help! read more

Chicago Locksmiths have been so easy to work with! They are so professional, I used a few locksmith company's before for the same scope of work, rekeying and installing, duplicating etc. also couldn't be happier with the quote I got. read more

Isaac came and re-keyed our doors a few weekends ago. Amazingly quick and professional. Did a great job. Highly recommended!

HORRIBLE service, overcharged us $200 and refused to credit. They billed for 8 re-keys but only installed 5 locks. The tech they sent was lazy, took over 4 hours to do the job all the while sitting as much as possible, drinking our water, smoking our cigarettes and even walked off with a pair of pliers! HORRIBLE customer service when we called to complain about the overcharge. The only thing they offered was to send the same tech out to try and prove he did 8 re-keys (he couldn't). He stood there yelling at me, "Blame your husband, he said he didn't care how much it cost". This was AFTER he quoted $600 and then charged $860.00. read more

I called Chicago Locksmiths to change the locks on my new condo and the process was quick, easy and completely painless. Jon called me about an hour and a half before my requested appointment time and then again when he was a half hour away. He was friendly, knew what he was doing and worked quickly. In total, the process took 15 minutes. I will definitely call them again and highly recommend their services! read more

Called Chicago Locksmiths when I was locked out of my garage and they promptly answered my call in the early hours of the morning and had dispatched a technician in less than an hour. Thomas Dean was extremely professional and courteous and although he was not able to open the door (had a latch guard on it), one of the neighbors came by and opened the door from the inside. Thomas then proceeded to tighten the doorknob (free of charge) as it was coming loose, and did not charge me for the lock-out. Very professional service and fair to the customer. I would definitely recommend Chicago Locksmiths and would use them again in the future. read more

After the Homeless Despot made us 4 unusable keys, I decided to try Chicago Locksmith (their name was on the key that I was copying!). On the way there, I said to myself, "man, I hope they have keys that work." Upon arrival I was greeted by a giant sign that reads, of course, "WE HAVE KEYS THAT WORK." They read my mind, and made 4 great working keys. Promise kept. Thanks a million. read more

No longer do I have to worry about my lock getting stuck at an inconvenient time. Thanks Stephen and Chicago Locksmiths! read more

I contacted Chicago locksmith this morning with a few questions about my car key which wasn't being recognized by my car. I'm pretty vehicle illiterate so I needed guidance and advice on what to do. Carlos and Shai were so much help. They recommended I come in and change out my battery in my push to start remote and see if that worked. It took all of 5 minutes but they were beyond helpful and even walked out to my car to make sure it was working. I've used this company before when I needed to get a copy of a key that no place seemed to have since it was for an old door/lock and they were so responsive and helpful then as well. They really seem to care about the customer and I would only ever recommend them if you're in need of a locksmith. Thanks guys for all your help today!! read more
