Noah was great! He called within 10 minutes of me entering the request & arrived within a half hour. He was friendly & very fast! It did cost me about $240 for two locks on my apartment door (locked myself out) so that part wasn't too fun.. but if I had to hire a locksmith again, it would definitely be them! read more

Top quality and very professional. Had a consult and they repaired and installed locks in my business. Great result, speedy, and fair price. Would definitely recommend. read more

Fair pricing and professional approach. They were also very reasonable when our door strike turned out bad as well - replaced onsite, and Slava, the tech who serviced us, was really friendly. read more

Fantastic experience - Garrett was amazing and went above and beyond. Great service, and while I'm not exactly a key expert, they work great. Will be going back if I ever need anything else. Highly recommend! read more

I can't recommend Chicago Locksmiths enough. I was locked out and my technician, Moe, was here within 30 minutes! Moe was AMAZING. He spent a long time working, and also provided a thorough explanation of everything he was doing. He was incredibly respectful and kind, and even went above and beyond to discuss the locks in my apartment in general, with recommendations for improved security. If I have any other lock or key-related issue (which I hope I never do), I would call Chicago Locksmiths immediately. read more

I locked myself out of my unit. Javier did a great job unlocking my door even though it was a complex lock. Highly recommend!

Robert, my locksmith, was very knowlegable, maticulous, and a good young man. Thank you Robert for a well done job!

We tried to install a new door handle on our front door. We ran into an issue with the latch not working correctly at the top. When we installed it we used the bottom existing hole, and there was no issue. As you can see in the picture there is now a new random, not needed, additional screw. It looks ugly. The tech didn't ask if he could install it like that. He just did. How did he think this looked alright? Why didn't he bother to ask us. The tech was nice, and the rest of the work was good. He was late though, and now we have an aesthetically ruined door. Thanks! read more

Mike and Melissa really helped us out this evening. We called after removing the locks from our new home and then realizing that hardware stores don't re key locks anymore. My husband called and talked to Melissa who was super helpful and said someone could re key early tomorrow. We dropped by expecting to have an unlocked unit overnight, but Mike offered to do it while we waited. The whole process was quick and the prices sure as heck beat buying new locks. He also explained to my husband how to easily put the locks/knobs back on. We really appreciated the thorough and speedy help all around! read more

Miguel was fantastic. My new locksmith from now on! If you are in Chicago check them out.

Lifesavers. Had 2 back to back trips with just 1 day at home in between. Mail key fell off during the first trip, called 247 Locksmiths at 3pm after landing and Gus was at my door by 4pm. Got it taken care of in no time! read more

Lies. The place is full of lies. I normally only come here to write positive reviews so for me to want to write a negative one means something. First of, I call in and explain to dispatch my situation. She tells me she'll give me a call back, saying she'll speak with a locksmith in my location. After waiting 15 minute I decide to call back. She apologizes and then proceeds to give me a quote, $125 to be exact. The price is the price, i'm fine with that. However, if i'm paying $125 I do not expect to be waiting for more than 45 minutes. This is reasonable right? I explain that to her and she says it won't be no more than 30! I rejoice and say that's fine hoping in the next 30 minutes I will be able to get into my van. She tells me that a locksmith in the area will call me within the next 10 minutes with an ETA. Ok, cool. I wait about 20 minutes, no call. I call in to the dispatch once again. Again I get another dry apology. She assures me that I will receive a call in the next few minutes. At this point I have been locked out for an hour. The locksmith calls and I explain to him I was told he could be here in 30 minutes. Can you guess what happens next? Another lie! He tells me he's an hour and 45 minute away. I tell him never mind. I wanted to call that lady back and give her a few words, but I remembered not everyone is all together in their head. After being locked out for an hour and a half, I called another locksmith who got there in 15 minutes and charged me $90. :) read more

I needed my passport for some upcoming international travel; only to belatedly discover the key to my personal safe was missing. Oh shit. Mario's team had him on his way out here within about fifteen minutes of me "requesting a quote" from a few Yelp companies (good job undercutting your competition on time, guys -- didn't even give the other companies a chance to get back to me ); he showed up in around an hour, and proceeded to crack my safe in ... about seven minutes. Now, I can't exactly say I'm *happy* with the service ... but only because now I have to find a new brand of safe, that Mario *can't* crack in less time than it takes me to make a sandwich. Smoothest experience I've ever had with a locksmith. Give'em a call. read more

Unfortunately, I found myself locked out of my place on a sunny cool Sunday afternoon in February. What should I do? Well first off, don't panic!! Which was I believe my first inclination. Well people, this is exactly where yelp becomes invaluable in your life. That is after you have taken a few deep breaths! I grabbed my phone and simply punched in locksmiths with the highest ratings and wallah!!! I spoke with I believe was a dispatcher and was told that lock tech would call me shortly. Roughly 4 minutes later a tech called and said he was 25 minutes away (Hip, hip, hooray!). The tech showed up and evaluated the situation and said it won't take him long. He expressed empathy for my situation. He was friendly and efficient in the process of carrying out his work. read more

Stop!! Don't look any further! Amazing Job! Walter did what 3 other places couldn't! When I smashed my trunk lock with luggage that was too big for it, Walter made a custom key that unlocked when other places were unable or unwilling to help. I'd give 6 stars if it was an option! read more

They came out twice to measure the channels for my lock but didn't get it done. They said possibly $1600 per channel but no guarantee it would fit and I would have to pay upfront. Only reason why I gave them one star was because they didn't charge me anything. read more

From the time we called to the time Michael left the service was exceptional. Locked out of the house. Called another company they only wanted to drill into my locks which would mean I had to get new locks, new keys etc... Michael came looking like he was in HS. I was like ooohhh no lol. Boy was I wrong he had the best attitude, was very professional, and the nicest guy ever. He gave us options to not just drill into the locks but to pick them. He was in the house in under 5 mins. The prices are reasonable the service supurb. Even dispatch had great customer service. I called four plus places and if I ever needed a locksmith again I would use chicago locksmiths. Fast reliable service. And if I could request for Michael I definitely would. Kudos for turning my frown to a smile. read more

I needed to get several locks replaced and some rekeyed. When I called, they were professional and sent someone in a timely manner. The locksmith was professional and able to complete the job as requested, and he give me the required number of keys. He was quick and demonstrated that all the new keys worked properly. Later on, I realized I needed additional sets made so I went to the office and got more copies made. Because I had multiple doors and the keys are identical in appearance, the person who helped me stamped them to let me know which key goes to what door. Nice. read more

Chicago Locksmiths came recommended from a neighbor who loves them. Tory came out quickly and after hours. He rekeyed all of our locks to one key in about an hour. Super fast. Even though we asked for 6 extra keys, he gave us 10. Great service, quick, and reasonable. Highly recommend. read more

These guys are great. Paul took care of me when I went in for a replacement key for my motorcycle. Turns out my particular key is very specific and they couldn't make me a replacement BUT Paul went out of his way to research it and educate me on what made that key so difficult to make and he offered me some good advice on what to do from there. So, regardless of the outcome, their customer service is tremendous. I had a couple of house keys duplicated while I was there and Paul, being kind and also feeling bummed that he couldn't help me more, wouldn't accept my money. This is the kind of business worth going to. And you can take a photo with the Robin Williams mural right across the street while you're there. read more

My outer door lock broke yesterday evening and based on reviews contacted Chicago Locksmiths. From start to finish an A+++ business. The lady I spoke with was so professional and understanding. The lock was changed in no time. And he was able to key it to my same key! If you need locksmith services, look no further! Call here and ask for Jonathan if he's available. read more

Went to get standard keys copied, and am so glad I stopped here instead of the usual big orange box store I've used to duplicate keys previously. I have keys that are notoriously hard to get working copies of - they are copies, of copies, of copies, and there are 4 of them, 3 in the same style. I was in and out in under 10 minutes (less than the time it takes to find the key guy elsewhere!), and ALL of the copies work like a charm. On top of it, the tech cutting them noticed they were all identical shape/color keys, so he used different metal colors and head shapes to more easily use them in the correct locks without fumbling through the whole ring. It is such a small thing, but it makes such a huge difference. I highly recommend this location for making key copies that work, and the awesome customer service is much appreciated, too! read more

Had a late night bedroom lock out at 1am, requested a quote on Yelp, and had a quick response by 7am. Between the office and the tech, 2 quick calls allowed someone to be out in Lincoln Park 30 minutes after the response and the tech opened our lock in maybe 1 minute. All parties were very professional and took the proper precautions with COVID. read more

Very bad experience and terrible customer service! (would like to give them minus 3 stars if possible) I was there hoping to get a quick replacement of my lost car key. I showed up in the morning explained that i need a replacement key with "remote built-in". They told me yes and they can order the key w/ remote and get it within 2-3 days . I specifically explained to them before leaving the store that the remote is part of the key and not separate remote (its built-in with the key). They said they understood and will place the order so i can get it asap. I decided to pay them in full instead of paying partial since i took in consideration their good reviews in yelp. Tuesday is the day i was supposed to get my key, surprisingly l did not get a call.. so I called only to find out its not ready. They the told me I will get it Wed...wed comes... no key. Their excuse.... is there vendor made a wrong order! bogus. Finally, key arrives Thursday! Stop by to get it all set-up and they order a wrong key with a separate remote!!!! I was very upset and told them i specifically requested for a key w/ built in remote. Then they told me it does not come with the model of my car.. another bogus statement!!! I then showed the pic in Ebay that they can buy a key with remote that they can program. To make it worst they can't even program the remote and get it to work! A waste of my time!!! I left the store very upset and to top it off not even an ounce of apology was offered. The following day i found out they refunded me not the full amount ... it was $10 dollar short ( but i called so they can refunded another $10 for their mistake ... again no apologies offered) !!!! Very bad customer service.. this place don't do CAR remotes and i don't trust them and be careful with this positive reviews ! You get what you paid for for a cheap place like these guys! very unprofessional service and would lie to your face to get your money! read more

Popped in for a couple keys to be copied. no hassle, no wait, and definitely no need to go back for a better copy - both work as they should. they even stamp their name on the keys so in case there's an issue, it's a hassle free return. not sure it can be done better than this. good looking out! read more

Quick and Easy! I had to get some keys copied and turns out I couldn't have picked a better place! I got worried when I walked in and nobody was at the front desk, but a few seconds later someone walked in and took care of me. I had 7 keys to copy and brought my own key blanks to make things easier. It honestly took me longer to put my keyring back together than how long it took for them to copy the keys. Altogether I was back in my car in less than 10 minutes. It's a small shop and they get right down to business. There's two chairs in case there's a wait, but I didn't have to use them. Lots of safes and alarm systems on display and for demo as well which was neat. So far the keys I used work. They said I can comeback if I run into any problems. read more
