Matt did a great job being that he can do it end to end. He did the welding and installed my preferred lock. He also made it look seamless. They were by far the best option and delivered on something that others couldn't. I would highly recommend Chicago locksmiths. read more

Locking myself out of my house in short sleeves, fuzzy slippers and no coat in the middle of a Chicago winter was not my finest moment. Thankfully, Chicago Locksmiths answered the phone ASAP and had someone out to my house in less than 20 minutes. Richard C. was fast, professional and got me back in my house in no time. The price was substantially less than I was anticipating, which was a pleasant surprise. You couldn't ask for a more painless experience. I will definitely call these guys in the future, but hopefully for something pre-arranged and not because I locked myself into my back porch. Again. read more

Jenna was super friendly and kind! She was also knowledgeable and answered all my questions- not only that, but the keys always work PERFECT! Have been coming here for years!! read more

Easy to book, fast professional service. Called and got an appointment for the next day no problem. Would gladly recommend Javier, he made recommendations and executed a full house rekey with new locks added. read more

Great and easy! Recommend Jacari! Smooth process. They came out within 20 minutes and helped me out.

Very impressed with these guys . Had to come in to get an extra set of keys for some upcoming contractor work in my unit. One of keys was a much trickier one to cut. They patiently went through a couple of iterations to get to the final version , but successfully got me to the end result . The key tech is very experienced and knew exactly what he had to do. Great service and friendly too and convenient hours of service. Don't have to get keys often but will go to them in the future! Great to have them serving the bucktown/wicker/Logan area read more

I wanted to change all the locks from our new house and based on the excellent reviews I called Chicago Locksmith. I'm very happy that I did it! Booking the appointment was easy. Ryan came on time, was polite, and addressed my concerns. I asked him about what was the best thing to do (if rekeying or change the whole lock), he was very honest and explained why he recommended just to rekey. I highly recommend this company! read more

I googled this place out of random since I was SOL with my keys in my trunk and no spare. The man who answered was extremely friendly and prices were unbeatable. I was eager and ready, I then got a call from brian the lock smith confirming and letting me know when he would come. He came within the timeframe he said and opened my car within 5 minutes. Instead of trying to open this up myself I will just call Brian if it ever happens again. Excellent service !!!! read more

I would give them 100 stars if I could. I have been in their location to get copies made, but they also very recently came to my aid in an emergency/urgent situation when I was locked out of my home. Steve and Milan were efficient, helpful, and most importantly under the circumstances, very kind. Not only did they get me access to my unit initially, but another team member returned the same evening to change all my locks after I contacted them. They will continue to be my first call when I have any lock/key needs. read more

Stopped in to get some high security keys copied, Bobby was done with the first set before I could even remember how many I needed of the second. Have had Chicago Locksmiths come out to assist with a car lockout before, always timely and the people are so nice! read more

Super fast response! Locked myself out was back inside within 15 min due to their speedy response.

Great service. Javiar was great!

The owner of the company reached out to me almost immediately to apologize for the situation and make it right. I appreciate this gesture. It shows they care about customer service. I called Chicago Locksmiths when I was locked out of my house after the door accidentally slammed behind me when I stepped out to grab my mail. The dispatcher was very understanding of my situation and said someone would call me within five minutes to let me know the ETA which would be around 20 minutes. I have a special needs dog and he was in the house still in his wheelchair as we had just gotten home so I was very worried. Given this I called another company as well because I didn't want to risk his safety and well-being in case there was an issue. That company called me back within five minutes with a 35 minute ETA. Since the Chicago Locksmith dispatcher told me 20 minutes I cancelled the other locksmith. I didn't hear from Chicago Locksmiths so I called the number back. The phone rang and rang and said I was the next caller but no one ever picked up. After multiple calls, I called another company who came in 15 minutes. It wasn't until 9:41 pm that I finally heard from someone to "confirm" they were coming. The original call was at 8:28pm. Do not rely on this company if you are in a bind. read more

Just closed on a commercial building and the keys the owner left didn't work. Called Chicago Locksmiths and they were out in a day or two to take a look. Jose fixed one of the doors and took down information to get the parts needed for the remaining door. He did a good job at explaining options and was an all around nice guy. There is a reason this company has 650+ reviews on Yelp...and most are 4 star. read more

Fantastic experience! We had an emergency need arise relating to our front door pop up in the early evening and I did not think we would be able to schedule an appointment until the following day. I submitted a request via Yelp and received a response and quote back within a minute. They were also able to send someone (Skyler) over that same night. On site, Skyler quickly identified the issue and thoroughly explained (incl. pros & cons) on our options in regards to working through a repair or total replacement. After those discussions, he quickly completed the project. Will definitely recommend to friends and keep in mind for any future projects! read more

Chicago Locksmiths did a great job, and quickly, and when they gave me keys, I somehow lost them by the next day. My wife was furious with me, and I called these guys and the locksmith still remembered the code he'd used on my keys, and brought out a new copy! Didn't charge me an extra dime. That's service. read more

Mykell came out and dealt with a fun of getting handed a bad set of keys at our home closing and not having any keys to extra spaces in the home. He was quick, courteous and did a great job. read more

I needed my house keys copied. Normally, I'd go to Home Depot or Menards since it's cheap and easy since I'm getting other stuff anyway. This time around, I went to Menards. My location no longer has a human cutting keys, just some weird robot machine. Of course, I was psyched about this machine because I figured it'd be quick, cheap, and amazing since I didn't have to talk to anyone. WRONG. Each key that I made did NOT work in my locks. WTF. Enter Chicago Locksmiths. Naturally, I Yelped the best-rated locations of locksmiths and Chicago Locksmiths came up #1. I was worried it'd be expensive but, since I'd already spent money for literally nothing, I figured nothing could be worse. My experience was far from terrible! Chicago Locksmiths is open every day of the week until at least 8 p.m. I showed up and no other customers were around so I was helped right away. The guy who took my keys looked at my house key and realized it was a bit "weird" so he had to cut a key twice just to get a good copy. I was so glad he actually scrutinized and did the work over again since the copy he made worked perfectly. I was totally happy with the copies I got since they all worked in my locks. I also happened to ask about mailbox keys since I needed mine copied, as well, but Chicago Locksmiths couldn't do it because it was a weird key. I was disappointed but the guy then explained that I could change my mailbox lock super easily and he'd copy the keys for me for free (for buying the lock). I was apprehensive since it seemed like a lot of work for a person (me) who knows how to do nothing handy, but he assured me it would be easy and so I went for buying a new lock. He threw in three copies of the new key for free since I was already paying for other stuff anyway and I went on my way. I paid about $18 total for my key copies and the new mailbox lock. Good deal. The mailbox lock ended up not being that hard to install myself and I had three shiny new keys that worked in the new lock, courtesy of the nice guy at Chicago Locksmiths. I've come back here once since my first visit and I've been equally satisfied. The copies of my keys have been perfect and I've had no issues opening anything (which is not the case with keys I've had copied at big box stores). Yes, Chicago Locksmiths charges like $.50 more per key copy than a big box store but that extra money is worth the stop here to work with a knowledgeable locksmith. read more

Ben provided really superb service for us. He fixed our lock handily even though a previous person had told us it was beyond fixing. He was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Great service, on time, and a job done right. I was scheduled quickly for the following day after contacting them via phone. Stephen the locksmith called a day before and the day of to confirm the time. We ended pushing up the appointment by 30 minutes which worked for both parties. Communication was key and they nailed it. Stephen did a thorough job in execution and explaining what needed to be done to re-key the locks for a new tenant. No need for new hardware. All five locks were changed within about one hour and as a bonus a single key works for all the doors, simple. Each re-key ran $30 a lock and a service fee of $40 for the house call. Mention Yelp and you get 10% the total bill. Job well done. read more

I was so lucky to have two technicians Bobby and Nate. They know what they're doing and provide friendly service! Thanks, guys!!

They came out the next day, assessed the situation, provided a great solution on the spot at a reasonable price. Will definitely use again

I had to have my locks changed on a short notice, and the guys responded in no time. One person came within an hour, and did a great job, considering that my doors and locks are pretty old. Affordable prices, much cheaper than I expected. Overall, I'm very pleased with the service. read more

Needed some keys duplicated and I was in and out in probably 5 minutes. Fast and friendly service, would use again.

Mike, thank you thank you thank you!! Got locked out at 8pm on a Tuesday and he showed up 20 minutes later to MacGyver his way into my Fort Knox of a front door. And somehow, it's no worse for the wear. Extremely reasonable price considering the hour! Much lower than I expected. Would call them again in a heartbeat, though I hope I don't have to anytime soon;) thank you again. Feels good to be inside. read more

Chicago Locksmiths - Company information - Security Systems Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Called for a locksmith and was told the price would be $100 and an hour wait to get inside my car after almost 2 hours hours the driver calls me, he had a hard time finding the address which was reasonable since the entrance was small and close to an intersection, but what was off putting was the fact that he was getting frustrated over the phone with me and right before he actually found the place he said "well I don't know what to tell you, I cant help you" in a condescending tone. I almost had to plead with him to not leave me hanging He did the wirehanger through the door trick to open my door and somehow my bill jumped to $128 with a $4 service fee for using a credit card (total $132), I don't know if the extra $28 was a getting lost frustration fee TL:DR $132 and 2 hour wait for this service, if you can find someone with better rates I would use them Edit: 3/28/14 from 2 to 4 stars after I left this review Chicagoland locksmiths reached out to me and helped clear up the overcharges from the past service I had, they were very helpful in rectifying the situation and showed that they care about retaining customers. I am glad they listened. read more

This establishment is a class act. I've had an issue with my patio door in my condo for months. I've had countless locksmith services be unreliable. In desperation I posted on NextDoor and had a neighbor recommend Chicago Locksmiths and told me they'd be quick to respond. Within an hour I had a response. Skyler came out to inspect the door. He was very professional. My door is complex and unique and he couldn't fix the problem. But he was thorough and honest and gave me advice that helped me finally get it fixed that week. If you want a trustworthy locksmith service, this is your company and I'm certain they'll be able to fix the problem quickly for most locks. But in the rare event they can't, like mine, you get someone like Skyler that tells you how you can. Thank you. read more

I own a business in downtown Chicago. I have used these guys a couple of times. I love great customer service at a very fair price and these guys for the second time have been fantastic to work with.
