Loveeeee Cheng Chopsticks! This is your typical hole-in-the-wall, no frills type of joint that serves up some incredible Chinese food. The staff here is friendly and quick. I'm not sure if they're family owned but they're running this place greatly. I've gotten numerous things from here and while there are some dishes that are better than others, in general the food here is a 5/5. I recommend their chicken fried rice, cashew chicken, chicken & broccoli, and egg rolls. This place is affordable, delicious, and my go-to spot for Chinese food. Average food, decent price for lunch special ($11). You definitely get a lot of food for them price, but the flavor is just okay. I did enjoy the fried rice and you get a free water, but the beef and broccoli and the egg roll left much to be desired. Staff was lovely. Dissatisfied with the hot wing. I almost want to throw them away. Don't buy these. I tried to add sweet chili, sauce but still no bueno. I ordered Orange Chicken & General Tso Chicken. I don't like leaving bad reviews to small businesses but had gone here a month ago and well I tried to purchase some food and when the cashier told me to pay for the food I had inserted my card into there machine than she began saying it declined but i know it couldn't have declined because I transferred the amount of the money she said I needed to pay so I asked her if we can retry but she refused to allow me to do that and basically told me to call my bank which I did and my bank told me the money I paid for the food had disappeared from my account so I ended going back telling the cashier that it was already paid for but she started to want to argue about it so I left and decided to just have my bank refund me the money which toke me 10 days just to recover my money back from this place so don't ever go here if you plan on to ordering here read more

Makes me really sad because I love crab Rangoon's so much but these are the worst I have ever had in my life. They even stink they taste so bad. You just cannot simply eat it, it stinks. I also ordered 4 veggie egg rolls, they had meat in them so I could not eat them. Let's just say my stomach is TORE up. Also this is not the first time I've had an issue with the crab Rangoon's. Cheng Chopsticks in Logan Square has pretty good food at pretty good prices. Some items are a bit better than others so let's break it down. Crab Rangoon ($3.45 for 4 pcs) - Pretty darn good. None of that half filled dough encasement here. They have a lot of cream cheese and are ooey, gooey, goodness as far as I'm concerned. Orange Chicken - Most flavorless of the dishes I tried. It wasn't spicy in terms of heat or any sort of real taste. I'd skip ever getting this again because I want a little heat with my orange chicken! Sesame Chicken - This dish was average to me. Liked it, didn't love it, not the best sesame chicken I've had, but not the worst...so...very middle of the road. Sweet & Sour Pork - The best of the meat dishes but the lunch special didn't include a lot of meat. Mostly veggies. Great flavor in this one though and would order it again, just may ask for less veggies. Vegetable Eggrolls ($3.75 for 2) - Loved these. Pretty standard in taste and size, exactly what I was looking for when I ordered them. Shrimp Fried Rice - Standard and solid. Their lunch specials come with an eggroll & a drink for $7 which is a great deal. All the chicken dishes use white meat which is lovely. They pack a good amount of sweet & sour sauce, napkins, silverware, pretty much everything you need and they aren't stingy about it. I wouldn't rush to order from Cheng Chopsticks again and would probably try a new spot in the future. However for cheap eats that are decent, it's a good option. read more

Pretty standard but staple neighborhood Chinese take out joint. They do Lunch specials - around $6.75 before 3 pm and later $8 but comes with a choice of rice/shrimp fried rice, 1 egg roll, an entree and a pop. It served me for 2 meals and I still had leftovers which I think was too generous. General Tso's chicken was better than Orange chicken which lacked flavor in my opinion. Egg rolls were not great. I'm new to the area and there aren't too many food options on this part of Armitage within walking distance. Usually I'll try any restaurant out until they give me a reason not to. What a pleasant surprise this place was. Get the general tso chicken dinner special. It's sweet, spicy, crispy, and comes with a huge portion of fried rice. Lots of flavor, and they tend to go light on the extra sauce (which is nice, extra sauce is extra sugar). Easily a go to on a takeout night. I haven't tried much else there other than the chicken dishes (dietary choice), but I've heard great things from other people in the neighborhood. The customer service is really good and very friendly. My girlfriend liked the egg foo young too. I hardly ever write Yelp reviews, especially for restaurants. But I finally felt it was necessary for Cheng's. I've ordered delivery from Cheng's multiple times now over the course of about a year. They deserve this 5 star rating for their consistently good quality, and insanely fast delivery. It's not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination, but for what it is (cheap, fast, chinese delivery) they do it right. And they do it right CONSISTENTLY. I usually get the sesame or General Tso's chicken dinner combo w/ fried rice. Portions are HUGE, and the chicken is GOOD quality white meat, texture, and flavor. The price value of their dinner combos is unbeatable. I only live about 3 full blocks away, but even so, their delivery times are insanely fast. Literally took 10 minutes from my call-in order to delivery at the door. It's a little off putting how FAST they are. My only complaint is that I wish they were open later. read more

This is one of those times I wish I'd consulted my bookmarks before reordering. Had I done that, I would've seen this note: "shrimp with hot garlic sauce - not spicy at all" So far, this is the best Chinese place we've tried that delivers to their house. It almost checks all of the boxes to make it our go to spot. * They deliver to our house and rather quickly * They have good crab rangoon - bonus points for offering 4 or 8 * They have different size options and small will last me two meals Where they fall short is in two areas heat and delivery. The shrimp with hot garlic sauce is on the GrubHib site as being a spicy dish, but it is not remotely spicy. I love a good spicy garlic sauce and this is the one aspect of the dish that always disappoints. Otherwise, there is a good amount of shrimp and veggies and the veggies aren't overcooked and mushy. My complaint about delivery is that twice now, they've called instead of coming to the door. If I'm paying a delivery fee and tipping in advance, it doesn't seem unreasonable to have them actually come to our door (even after I put in the delivery instructions to ring the doorbell). Tonight we didn't even see the car on our street when we got the call. I'm not sure this is the best we can do, but it gets the job done. 3.5 stars. read more

An unfortunate experience. Pre-ordered our food to arrive at 7:00 as my wife and I were biking from a get together. By 7:20 our food had still not come, so we called grub-hub to see what was going on. They said our order was picked up 10 minutes ago and would be there in 10 minutes. 7:45 rolls around still no food. We call again and state that we'd like a discount because we are now going to be eating food that will be at least 45 minutes old. They tell us we cannot do that, that we can either cancel or order or just continue to wait. So now I'm going to have to wait another hour if we ordered food from somewhere else. We made packaged ramen instead. Both parties are at fault here and I don't think I'll order from here or use grub hub. read more

I can't believe I have not written a review for Cheng's yet! They are right around the corner from my house, and a fabulous choice for fresh Chinese. I usually get the chow fun, which is perfection with a couple squirts of sriracha. Their egg rolls are also out of this world, some of the best I've ever had. Very mediocre Chinese food. I ordered Sesame chicken and the sauce was not good and the texture as well was very questionable. It didn't taste like chicken to me. It's funny too because I have a friend and a roommate who both like the food but I've gotten it twice and it was the same both times. Off flavor and off texture.
