As a local, I haven't been to the Chateau Grill/Atrium in about 7 years because it can be pricy but usually the food and service match the cost...this time was disappointing. Not only did it take about 10 mins to recieve a greating and water, but after ordering and waiting for soup, salad, and a gyro for 25 mins, we ran out of water so i kindly asked Tyler (not our server) if we could get some water because i havent seen our server since ordering and he side eye glares at me! So rude. Definitely wont be coming back anytime soon. On a positive note the soup and gyro were amazing. Salad was subpar for 13 bucks. read more

Omg the service was amazing!! First the valet was "full" but they let us park our car right in front. The concierge here escorted us to our table, even helped us get a table for V day!! The hotel reminded me of many I have stayed at where the rooms surround a large atrium with water/outdoor sound echo throughout. They have a glass elevator, if you can get the picture. We didn't get a view of the lake, which would've been ideal but we had a view of the atrium and the concierge let us go take pics from the private room beside the main dining room, until we froze everyone out (for a few min), sorry! Had to get that selfie. Anyway, the food was great. I had the chateaubriand. C had the prix fixe menu which had the filet and scallops. TRUST THE REVIEWS! THIS PLACE IS *THAT* BAD! We came here for Father's Day, hoping to treat our Dad to a nice dinner. What we received instead was the weirdest dining experience I've had in at least 10 years. The Food: It was incredibly overpriced, and incredibly bland. We all ordered the prime rib, medium rare. When the cuts of meat came out, they are closer to well done than medium. Tough, flavorless, all for the low low price of $55. Our server was the most awkward yet hostile waitress I've EVER seen, and I was a waiter for 4 years in college. My brother ordered a beer, which was delivered with a glass. He began to pour it himself, when the waitress (name starts with an S) INSISTED she pour it for him. I am not exaggerating when I say she proceeding to pour the beer for 45 seconds, incredibly slowly, that left the glass half beer and half foam. My brother said he thought he was on Punk'd because he couldn't believe a waitress would do that. More on the service, it being Father's Day, she made a "joke" about other new Fathers around the table, looking at me and my 3 brothers. Not two months prior, my wife miscarried. I realize I am probably sensitive to this topic, but it was such an awkward introduction that it set a horrible tone for the rest of the meal. I can't stress enough how bad the server was. It felt like she had contempt for us, or some unresolved issue bothering her while we were there. At various points she just stood by us while we talked. I think she *thought* she was providing white glove service, but her lingering and interupting was strange and incredible off-putting. We got two appitizers: mushrooms and shrimp. 3 mushrooms cost us $16. 3 shrimp cost us $19. We ordered a bottle of wine. Was supposed to be the 2020 vintage, of course they bring out a 2023 vintage instead. The Wedge Salads! Holy cow, honestly a horrible salad that doesn't even come in a wedge shape! Zero bacon to speak of, a staple of any wedge salad. The tomatoes used were clearly cut for a different purpose, probably tacos. $15/ wedge salad by the way. The decor inside was incredibly depressing. It seems like time has past this place by. Electric blue water glasses with old lady furniture everywhere. I am convinced the only people that enjoy this restaurant and food are people that come to Branson for vacation and have no "fine" dining in their hometown. This is a poor knock off of a "fine dining" experience. You could not pay me to return. Our mean for 6 people was $600, and it was the worst meal I'd had in months. Ridiculously overpriced for boring food. Ordered a Caesar salad and had to hunt down the slightest bit of dressing to coat the lettuce. One of our party ordered the New York steak and it was average. My filet was delightful but drowning in sauce and my loaded potato was cool with little to no "load". Another of our party ordered the risotto and it too was cool and seemed to have been sitting and waiting for awhile. The only plus side was our waitress, Sandra, who was awesome. We had visited here prior to Covid. and had a much better dining experience. Billed as fine dining we found the plates service to be more in line with an average banquet catering meal. Everything aside from the tomato bisque was over cooked, under seasoned and way over priced for the quality. The crab cakes are more breading than crab; somehow the shrimp cocktail is flavorless. Thea seafood risotto is over cooked. The actual seafood is way over cooked to the point it is so rubbery it's not edible. The salmon was fishy and overcooked. The cocktail program is non existent. I was very hesitant to follow through with my reservation based on past reviews but... IM SO GLAD I DID! food, new menu and amazing. Service, impeccable. Sandra was knowledgeable, gracious, friendly, helpful. We had fresh focaccia bread delivered prior to our food order that was warm soft , served with an amazing olive oil with parmesan. I had the Caesar's salad which could have been a meal it was so big, served with a giant crispy fried parmesan crisp. We ordered a filet and scallops surf and turf special....AMAZING. Ordered medium and cooked as such. Tender delicate amazing. We also ordered the chicken and cornbread waffle also amazing. I was pleasantly surprised and proven wrong from prior reviews. The chateau Grill unfortunately did not live up the expectations that are set upon entering the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and has a certain charm so I naturally thought their grille would be the same. It is beautiful but the food did not live up to the beauty at all. We went for dinner and thought the food would be spectacular since the entrees averaged at about $40 a piece. We were very wrong. We ordered the crab cakes, the pork loin and the coq au vin. The crab cakes: very very fishy in flavor. They came recommended by the waitress but I have never had crab cakes that tasted so fake. The pork loin: the pork was cooked very well and was about the only good thing on the plate. The mashed potatoes were decent but look unappetizing. The broccoli that came with both entrees looked like it was steamed in the microwave and came with no seasoning. The coq au vin: flavorful chicken but served with the same disappointing mashed potatoes and broccoli. The big takeaway: the sides need big improvement and we would not recommend for how expensive it was. We also ordered wine. The white tropical mango was very sweet and very good but a cheap bottle you can buy at the store. The same went for all the wines they had listed on their menu. One of the worst meals I've ever spent $1000 on. The steaks were tiny, The fondant potatoes were like hockey pucks, as was the bread. The pork chops were extremely dry. I should've known better than to order lobster or crabcakes so far from the East Coast but I didn't. They have a nice view, but they don't make any attempt to seat you near it. The tables and chairs are very hotelish not like a nice restaurant at all. In fact, the breakfast buffet equipment is set up permanently in the restaurant. read more

The food items/ quality were consistent with a relatively low grade diner and somewhat sparse in variety, while texture and taste of the scrambled eggs were of powdered eggs; however, a chef was available to make a fresh custom omelette as well. Juice or coffee are an extra charge. Overall, don't waste time, money, or digestive juices here as the view from a window table was nothing to write home about. The $40 salmon was bland and over cooked, the chicken was so bad my husband did not eat even a quarter. He said fast food chicken was much better. The desert was disappointing as well. We have been to the Thanksgiving Brunch with family 5 times. The first 4 times were wonderful. Food prepared well and a great variety. SO DISAPPOINTED THIS TIME (2023). When we called to make reservation, we asked if they were going to have lobster tails like previous times. We were told yes, but they were not on the buffet. We thought we would just enjoy the rest of the offerings, but a lot of things had changed. Banana Foster and Cherry Jubilees were made without butter and only a sprinkle of sugar which made them dried grilled fruit on ice cream. They were much better before. Lobster Ravioli was falling apart, mashed potatoes cold, Pancetta on pork inedible. For 95$ per person we expected better quality. We will not be eating Thanksgiving there again. read more

Stayed at hotel for a few nights over Christmas so visited restaurant twice for both Christmas brunch and dinner. Christmas brunch - Sat right away, waited a few minutes for server to come over for drink order but nobody arrived so headed out to buffet. I'd like to say it was organized chaos, but it was just chaos. No clear start to buffet line, people wandering everywhere looking for plates. Eventually found the smallest plates I've seen at a buffet before, plus they were not heated. I'm not a fan of hot food on freezing plates. Eggs Benedict, egg whites were still runny which is a no no, there was a line 20 long for omelette station with young guy who seemed overwhelmed by the crowds. Was looking forward to the bacon bar, but disappointed that most of the choices we're missing. Got back to table to find server there offered coffee and champagne, he kept clearing the cutlery away so had to keep finding new cutlery each time I returned to table. Never offered drink refills. Salads were limp and bland, Turkey was nice and juicy, roasted potatoes were a little crunchy, roasted vegetables were more sweaty and boiled than roasted. Pork was dry, fish was not very nice, prime rib was ok, I only had a small piece. I enjoyed the cheese, meats and crackers. Dessert bar was disappointing too, moose was not light, airy and fluffy, it was dense and cold like it's been refrigerated. Yule log was crumbly and difficult to get a slice. There were lots of empty plates, no fudge, no flan, no cheesecake, no red velvet cake, no trifles like menu promised. These was no Christmas music either which was a little odd. $59pp for such a mediocre offering is outrageous. Dinner - Having heard good things about the grill, I had to come back and check it out for dinner. Was seated right away, however took 20 minutes for server to come over, fyi it was not busy. She apologized that nobody had been over earlier to take our order, not even Offered a water. She said they were going to offer us complimentary soup which was beef, potato and fennel. Took another 15 minutes for it to arrive and to out astonishment they were making us share a half full bowl of soup! Even provided 1 soup spoon and 1 teaspoon. I was expecting a hearty broth not ground beef, however it was tasty. My Chateaubriand was undercooked, carrots were beyond undercooked and still crunchy and whipped potatoes were crying out for seasoning. My partner had the Coq au vin, it was just a fatty airline breast in a horrible sauce, same crunchy potatoes, but has a sweet potato gratin which was nice, however half of it was that gross sauce. Having spent time in France I'm familiar with both dishes, these were a poor interpretation of these fine dining dishes. Server didn't bother checking back on us or offer any drink refills. In fact another server come and collected our plates and dropped the check off, surprised to still see the soup on the check. Sub par service all round at all times of the day and night. If you present yourself as a fine dining restaurant then you need to offer fine dining, impeccable service and you don't mind paying these ridiculous prices. Would not recommend. read more

My dining guests' meals were also good (cheeseburger/fries and catfish/potato wedges). Service was good. The wait staff was attentive to our needs and not obtrusive. Ambiance was classic elegance. Beautiful waterfalls and water gardens throughout the first floor, which are visible to a portion of the dining area. Sturdy, well-made, comfortable seating, all with arm rests. For appetizers, I had the French onion soup and my wife had the Nova Scotian lobster and shrimp bisque. Both were delicious. For entrées, I had the KC strip with mascarpone whipped potatoes and buttered carrots and sweet peas. My wife had the red snapper with wild rice and broccoli. Mine was not bad, but it didn't blow my mind. I ordered it mid-rare and it came out mid-well. My wife's was pretty good. It was all a bit over salted, though. I look forward to eating Sunday brunch here again! Although the breakfast items looked great, my focus was on the carving station and dessert. I arrived to receive the first cut of a juicy prime rib boneless roast. Delicious! High-quality meat and all the side dishes. I saved room for the dark chocolate cake from the dessert station. Yummy, worth every bite! So many fresh items, so many choices, worth planning another trip. In my option, this is one of the best higher quality buffets in the Branson area. Last year we had an enjoyable lake view meal and then ate ice cream overlooking the beautiful Table Rock Lake. We noticed the buffet area and found out about their Sunday brunch and made plans to check it out. This restaurant, located within the Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center allows us to dress up a bit to enjoy a beautiful facility and a nice meal. read more

I felt sorry for the waitresses and waiters because most places the customer is always right but at this place the costumer can't even make simple requests because of the chef. From my understanding the chef does it his way or the high way.... No sauce on the side - not side order of hash browns - no egg white omelet Bc he wants it to be the entire egg it's just crazy !!! Unfortunately it was not good- I would have rather eaten Cracker Barrel food. The wine was good but this review isn't about wine but their food. It came out cold and overcooked. (I only ate a 3rd of it because I was hungry and when asked if it was good I told him it was cold. The waiter did nothing about that)- I also didn't make a fuss either but when you are a restaurant that has class you shouldn't have to when you verbally told them it was cold....so I paid and left and won't be back. I have never been here for anything other than Sunday brunch so I cannot rate them for anything else. We have gone to their Sunday brunch many times and it is always absolutely amazing. They have an impressive spread of basically any breakfast/brunch item you could want. The seating offers a gorgeous view of the lake and you can enjoy live piano music playing as you eat. As far as foods available, I recall different types of steak, chicken, the usual breakfast fare of waffles, pancakes, and omelet bar, charcuterie, bagels and lox, potatoes prepared several ways, eggs Benedict, seafood, fantastic deserts, fondue, cereal for the kids, a variety of breads and sides, soups, salads, etc. In addition to the wide variety, the foods are well prepared with a little more creativity than your typical buffet. We have yet to eat here and not leave ecstatic about the food variety, service and atmosphere. I have probably been here 7-8 times and will continue to go every time we visit Branson. If you sit outside it is also a great view overlooking the pool and lake. This restaurant is lacking with the food though. The menu looks good, but the taste is just ok. For the price and location it should be better. It's not bad, but needs improvement. It's kind of like airport or amusement park food - it's pricey, but kind of your only option unless you got out of the hotel. read more

Ambiance is lovely. Great views of the lake. The staff do try, but it's quite clear they are not well-trained. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and were not offered a taste and then the waiter poured it in a dirty glass, then when we brought that to his attention, he brought another glass and offered to pour the wine from one glass to another, then when we declined, he left the FULL dirty glass on the table after bringing a new one. After our food arrived, the waiter never checked back on us. We order an Old Fashioned w/upgraded whiskey and that came watered down in a glass full of ice. The margarita with premium tequila was just ok as it was made with a low quality mix. The food was also "just ok" and the burger was more of a hockey puck than a burger. To the waiter's credit, he never asked us how we wanted our food cooked, so perhaps he shouldn't be held responsible for the overdone food? Overall, nice hotel, crappy grille. read more
