We went for breakfast. The food was fantastic! The restaurant is a nice size and very welcoming. The owner visited with us and we learned so much about what brought he and wife up there and we found we're close to where he originally grew up. We had the veggie omelette YUM!! Of all the years I've lived in Kimberling I've only been to Ma's a few times. So we decided to try it again for takeout but it reaffirmed why we never go to ma's. For the prices, cracker barrel is better quality. I order the "chicken fried chicken" dinner. Note that's singular folks since it comes with "one" small breast that was undercooked and chewy. The burgers were ordered medium rare and they were so overcooked they were dry and there was not a sliver of pink or juice left. The sides were about as good as KFC which is great if you love KFC but not at these prices. For 5 people and we spent $125 it's simply not worth it. read more

Went here for breakfast we waited about an hour for our food. Luckily we weren't in a rush anywhere. Later we found out the cook walked out in the middle of the rush. Ordered the fried mushrooms as a starter, they arrived in one overcooked clump, suggest a few shakes in the fryer to loosen them up. Ordered a half rack of ribs and "burnt ends" both with baked potato salad and coleslaw. Ribs, although nicely smoked were a bit chewy. my wife had our first really bad meal here today. She had their special which was a 4 bone rib plate. The ribs would not pull apart, she had to ask for a steak knife to separate them. They were very, very tough. They looked old. We won't ever get smoked meat from here again. Good BBQ houses cook just enough for the day and when they run out they're done with that item. This way the meat is always fresh. We've never had a bad meal at Ma's Place until today. They should stick with what they do best, breakfast, burgers, fried catfish, and leave the BBQ to the experts. read more

Very friendly staff, but the food was pretty yuck. I ordered corned beef & hash, thinking that it would be just that, corned beef. What I received was actually mashed spam with tiny hash browns mixed in. It was not good at all. Very greasy. Went to Ma's Place tonight and the service was HORRIBLE. We ended up leaving after sitting there for 50 minutes watching people come in after us, get waited on before us, and finish their entire meal (all while we couldn't even get a drink refilled). Finally, I asked the lady if we could get a check for our drinks and she gave me a smirk/laugh with an attitude. I made the comment "I'm glad you think this is funny." She then started to proceed to ring up our drinks, still with an attitude, and I then told her the fact that she was even thinking about charging us for our drinks was even more ridiculous. This place has the worst service of any place I have ever been. Went there this morning with the expectation of waiting. Upon entering they said 35 to 40 minutes. After we sat down and ordered we waited 90 minutes without a waitress coming by to check on us to see if we wanted refills on water or coffee. There were three other tables that got there before we did and still did not have there food. We finally got up and left.
