I visited this restaurant for the first time since moving to the lake. We arrived by boat and were immediately seated. The waitress Stephanie was friendly and attentive. We ordered our food and it arrived fairly quickly. Stephanie suggested we try the blueberry muffins which were fresh out of the oven. Great recommendation on the blueberry muffins they were delicious. We will most definitely be back soon. read more

What's with the bad reviews? This place was so cute!! We had a big group staying at a condo for a wedding and this was walking distance for breakfast. We walked in and they had no issue seating us. They were so sweet and even interacted with all the kiddos. Service was quick and helpful, they have a standard breakfast menu, something for everyone. A couple of us ended up with sandwiches which were easy, and my husband got a country fried steak which he thought was bomb. I didn't have anything that I didn't like. If you like breakfast food, you should like this spot. They were also so nice to pretty much offer unlimited fruit to the little ones. They also have food to feed all the animals which is awesome - so many fish, birds, and turtles! Great spot for a good breakfast. read more

Service staff seemed stressed and unhappy. Running around. We waited to be seated per the entrance sign. Eventually asked to be seated. Our party was split between two tables. Happens, we understand. But there seemed to be solutions (especially since we called ahead and they knew we were coming) that they weren't open to. Again, we get it... Waited what seemed like an eternity for drink orders to be taken. Watched several other parties, one fairly large, leave before ordering out of frustration. Not in a hurry and assuming trying to get in anywhere else on a Saturday night, well after 6 at this point would take just as long, we stuck it out. Finally, time to take orders - kids start to excitedly order pancakes. All-day breakfast, ya know?! Nope! Joke was on us. "Oh, we're not doing breakfast anymore." L. o. L. Today? Ever? It wasn't clear. Managed mini-human melt downs and got alternate orders in. Took. Forrrrr. Ever. Drinks were never refilled even upon request and reminder. Appetizer ordered never came even with a reminder. Sweet tea was so watered down it was not drinkable. Observed around 7 staff doing very little. Lots of people standing around and not much else. One younger staff member was on break on her phone in the dining room. Talking to another staff member or vendor perhaps as he was in a different uniform also on break in the dining area. Another staff member called to her from the kitchen. She was so annoyed. Young gal later snagged some dessert from the display and enjoyed it just beyond the kitchen. Yolo. Treat yo'self, sis! The back and forth was... entertaining? Maybe mystifying better captures it. Paying for our meals was also chaotic, as expected. But the geese and turtles just outside - so fun! We have been going to this Cafe for 8 years and always loved it. I know it has changed hands and they can't seem to get it together. Partly could be finding good help due to COVID. When you first walk in you have to stand and wait to be seated. They keep walking past and no one ever acknowledges you and you can stand for 20 minutes. Most people leave at that point. We should have today. But this morning I was willing to wait because the food has always been worth the wait but not today. We sat down and waited another 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. From the time we walked in the door till we received our food was an one hour and half. My country fried steak was burnt and my hashbrowns were not done and the gravy looked very sketchy. Needless to say I won't be back. Makes me sad because it was a nice morning boat ride to breakfast. read more

A family of 9 of us went for breakfast on Labor Day 2023. We arrived at 9:30 AM. Our order, 9 breakfasts was placed after waiting some time to even get coffee brought to our table. An hour and half later the waitress came to our table and informed us that it would be at least another 30 minutes before they would start preparing our order. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The waitress did her best to explain. We walked out when the Waitress said she would have to get the manager's approval to cancel the order. They food may have been the best in the world, but we're never able to taste it. I would not return and would NOT recommend this place for a good family breakfast meal, they really didn't want our business. read more

Honestly this place makes me so sad. Every year my family and I come to Indian point to stay in the same condo on the lake. We love to eat at the floating cafe because of the usually yummy food and lake atmosphere. However, the past couple years have been very different. The service is terrible, and the owner obviously does not know how to staff, even though the dining area is fairly small. They do NOT know how to handle the vacation crowd. Today we decided to give it another chance and were yet again disappointed upon showing up and couldn't even get greeted or told a wait time. If you're coming to eat at this place during the summer/busy hours just don't waste your time and go somewhere else! This cafe was super unique the staff was so friendly. My kids loved being able to feed the fish right outside. Such a neat place!

Came for the sunset view and they allowed us to keep our dog at our table. My Reuben with potato salad was delicious and my son really enjoyed his catfish. The fried pickles weren't crispy, but they were still good. We'd come back if we were on this end of the lake! read more

This is my usual place to grab lunch on the lake with friends. Unfortunately if something doesn't change it will be my last. Was told 45 minutes to get food when we walked in. An hour and fifty! Minutes later we were served. Indoor and upstair dining open as well as to go orders. Was just about ready to pay for drinks and walk out just as previous customers had done. The one appetizer we ordered for a toddler to come out first was last. The Reuben, my go to sandwich, was lean in the meat serving. My guests chicken wrap had very little chicken. The philly steaks were good. My advice to the new owners, if you cannot keep up with indoor customers, do not take carry out orders. If it gets overwhelming close the upstairs. The only people who really suffer are your waiting staff who take all the grief and whose tips are likely to be compromised by patrons. It was very hard to continue to be patient once an hour had passed. The two stars is for the waitresses who were working this nightmare. read more

We have been enjoying going to the floating café for a few years now and generally love it. Destination dining. Our last visit they may just have had an off day but the food was not that great. The onion rings that came out were burnt, not just a little, near black but they still served them. We asked for new ones. They did not argue a bit. The new ones weren't burned but were super greasy, the batter was coming off in places and we didn't really enjoy them. We also got chicken tenders and they were just meh standard stuff out of a box. The french fries that came with them weren't delicious either. In kindness, I would suggest they upgrade their oil, onion rings, and fries and charge more for better quality. People go out to eat as a treat and want good food. I know with staffing shortages and food manufacturing difficulties, the restaurant business is not fun right now. If you want to go to a place for mediocre food, OK service but with a great view of the lake this is your spot. We are going to go again as this is a favorite spot. What I love most about the place is really the overall experience from getting to boat and enjoy the lake one the way there as well as when dining outside (best when the rooftop is available however it usually is not). The food is pretty good, especially the breakfast menu, but the biggest downside to the restaurant is that it is severely understaffed in the kitchen. Every time I have gone it appears that there is only one person working in the kitchen, this has actually been confirmed by a servers on a couple of busy days, one of which my group waited for THREE HOURS to get food. The place is always packed during the summer so I know they could probably hire at least two more cooks to speed it up a bit, none of the dishes seem to take great effort to make. I really do hope this place succeeds, it's always a fun experience to boat to a floating restaurant for breakfast, even when the wait is long. The potential is there just a few minor errors solely based around the understaffed conditions. read more

Customers weren't served at all in the order they came in. The management had a bad attitude. To top it off, the wifi didn't work. There really is no reason anyone should eat here. Hard to review a place well in the middle of a pandemic but it is what it is. Went Sunday 8/23 for breakfast. Service was chaotic and unorganized although friendly and pleasant. We chose to get ours to go since the dining area was fairly busy. I ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was excellent. Good flavor and consistency. The gravy although smooth and creamy was bland and didn't add any character to the dish. My better half ordered the breakfast burrito. It was excellent. Great flavor. Large portion. Made fresh. We did have to hunt down our order as our name wasn't called out by anyone but it does seem they are a bit short handed. Over all a decent spot for breakfast on the water. Maybe my expectation was too high, everyone we talk too locally highly recommended the restaurant. We were told its great food, quick service & great for kids. 1. We were not greeted when we first got into the restaurant. The restaurant seemed cleaned, but really could have been better taken care of. The table was sticky. 2. The service was not great. We had an older blonde lady, that didn't seem like she wanted to be there. It took her over 5min to bring menus & get our drink order. We ask for some crackers for our 2yr old, and she brought one package? Seriously. 3. Not kid friendly, no drink options besides soda & water. If you have a toddler, not friendly what so ever. They do not have a kids menu, no crayons. The do give you fish food, to feed the fish but that really doesn't take up much time. 4. When placing an order, instead of letting us know the specials or telling us what is not on the menu. Basically you name off something and the waitress would say nope don't have it order something else. After 5 different no answers, we got to pick a burger. 5. The food was ok, but a gas station burger would have been better. The bun was stale, chips stale, and the fries soggy. 6. We never got a ticket, so we went to pay up front. After we paid the waitress, brought us a ticket!!! We told her we already paid and its a small small restaurant!!!! Not sure how she didn't know?!
