We came in as a group of five and were charmed by a space that felt clean and comfortable. It is rich with history. The menu has plenty of personality, and staff helped us narrow down several tempting choices. Service was accurate and timely. Every small request was handled correctly, from water without ice to cheese on the side. At the staff's suggestion, we shared the fried mushrooms. Five people loved them and we still had some left. I had "Bill's Favorite," a biscuit with sausage gravy paired with hashbrowns covered with a scrambled egg, and topped with cheese ($1 extra). Filling, warm and tasted okay for what it was. We love to find small, hole-in-the-wall out of the way places! Mid-Town Cafe did not disappointment. Walking in the door, we were greeted with a smile and a hello by several people. We had a group of six with a small child and we were accommodated excellently. They were kind enough to find seating for all of us together even though the small establishment was a bustling place. During our dining experience, the owner spoke and joked with our party on multiple occasions, which our family loves when we feel like one of the locals. These are our favorite places to patronize. Each of our menu items were outstanding! The Sunday special was juicy, cooked-to-perfection fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn! All of our fare was down home Southern cooking! Coming from a small town this place felt like home. You walk into a seat yourself cafe & are automatically surrounded by locals chatting about the weather, their walmart trips, and their favorite server who is gone for the week. Food was 10/10. I had a pancake platter & my husband had the Sassy Spicy Skillet & both of us loved our food. Service was great as soon as you walked in the door, drinks came out quick & food was soon to follow. The Service was really good, we had a short wait and our server brought us drinks (cokes - no alcohol is served there) while we waited. Great waitstaff and the kitchen is very fast getting food to the table after putting in the order. The owner comes out and greets folks and cracks jokes. At first look of this small country cafe, one wouldn't expect such a great place to eat breakfast, but this is the kind of place I've found great treasures of scrumptious meals in my work days of traveling the highways & byways. Wish it were closer to home! The owner and servers are so pleasant and helpful, PLUS if you're a patriot, you'll feel right at home with the decor. We drive all the way from Rockaway Beach just to eat at Mid-Town Cafe and we have never had a bad meal served to us at Mid-Town Cafe, We have probably ordered 3/4 of their menu and love it all. Sometimes we are unable to finish due to the large portions but that doesn't stop us because we ask for a box, carry it home for either a meal the next day or a late night snack before bed. The gals that serve are very sweet and attentive so, service is top notch. The cafe is decorated with photos of the local Reeds Spring along with very interesting history. We prefer the laid back ambiance were people talk to you instead of sitting around like a bunch of stuffed shirts. Mid-Town is our favorite cafe for breakfast and lunch.
