Super popular and very busy place. The staff really did their best to serve our party amongst an already packed house. It was however a very underwhelming experience for the food itself. Hands down the fried catfish was amazing - though it wasn't what I ordered. Unfortunately the seafood boil dinner was lackluster in presentation and they were out of several staple items for that night (We did get alternate items at no extra charge). I don't usually splurge on cuisine like this too often but when I do I hope for it to be nearly perfect, worth every penny and worth bragging about. The crab leg I've attached to this review was small and had almost no meat to it.. almost as if it were the last bit of crab they had left. The drinks came out very slow, had to ask a few times about drinks we had ordered and they were out of options (beers on tap) that night as well. The restaurant was really fun and full of character. But being an out-of-towner I was disappointed that I've had better sea food at chain restaurants vs a local establishment. AWFUL food. I had catfish bites, an appetizer on the menu, at $14.00, as an entree with my 4 friends at lunchtime on 8/11/25. the fish was mushy. I love hush puppies but not here - dry and flavorless. and the iced tea was nasty. I tipped since this was all the kitchen's fault and the bill came to $25 for lunch. not going back, ever. the only thing good about this disaster of a meal was the wait person, who was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteeous. read more

The portions here are so plentiful and absolutely delicious. Sometimes places with big portions lack in quality, but not here! Okay, I came here to this cute kitschy place with a group expecting there to be nothing on my keto, dairy free, gluten free, no red meat diet ( yes, I'm annoying, I get it.) However, I reluctantly ordered the chicken wings ( asked for them extra crispy with the Cajun sauce) and a side salad expecting a ho-hum meal. To my ultimate SURPRISE, these WERE LITERALLY THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER HAD in my 38 year old life!!! I can't rave enough about how big, crispy, flavorful, and perfect they were! The seafood dip and fresh friend chips will make you moan in agony because you know you've got to plow through it to get to the boiled seafood platter, the side of delicious fried catfish, melt in your mouth steak, green beans, and fried up okra. Visiting Branson for my boy's WS Tournament, had the day off & went to the lake with fam & team. Heard of this spot and we stopped to check it out. We had a large party, all hungry, and looking for a place that would satisfy everyone. Man this place is good!!! I had their own brewed beer (pretty darn good!!) as well as the chicken & catfish plate and was not disappointed!! The chicken was nice & juicy, great flavor, the catfish was also pretty good, oh and it comes with fries, coke slaw, amazing hush puppies!!! Others had nachos, taco salad, burgers, Buffalo bites, fish, etc. Everyone pleased with their food. And those margaritas & bloody Mary's are awesome - watch out for that 60oz margarita AKA "the fishbowl". All in all, great place to come eat & have a great time!! read more

TL;DR: Unusually horrendous service tonight. Destiny did great, everyone else failed her. Currently eating at Flat Creek in Cape Fair, MO. I'm not sure what's going on tonight. Service is usually prompt and the food comes quickly. Tonight, however, they do not have many customers and there was no one waiting to be seated, yet it took probably almost 10 minutes to be seated. After being seated, it took at least another 10 minutes to get drinks (fountain drinks). Our food took over 45 minutes and by the time we received it, some of it like the pulled pork was cold, and others were hard from sitting under the plate warmers. What is sad is that our server, Destiny, was doing a phenomenal job but wasn't really being supported by the rest of team it looked like. Destiny was playing hostess, serving the 3 largest tables of customers, to include our 6-top, sweeping the floor, bussing tables, etc. Meanwhile, the other two servers were only serving. At least one of the other servers saw our food was sitting at the pass for a while and she didn't bother to tell our server or bring the food to us. She just meandered around. The kitchen also did not hit the bell for our server to know the food for her table was ready. Destiny is awesome, but the rest of the staff failed her tonight. read more

My partners favorite restaurant on Table Rock Lake. The staff is very friendly. They are able to accommodate groups of all sizes. The atmosphere is laid back and perfect for a date night or to bring the kids along. We started with pulled pork nachos and they are a big portion! I had the catfish with a baked potato and it was very good. It was served with a homemade tartar sauce. My partner had the chicken tenders tossed in a homemade Cajun sauce with a side salad and homemade Thousand Island. They have a full bar available if you are wanting a cocktail or beer. We ordered a piece of carrot cake and German chocolate cake to go. They were very big pieces and can be shared. read more

They have lost their quality and service. These guys WERE amazing! They expanded to several other locations, including purchasing and expanding Billy Gails. When they did, they make the mistake many small, quality restaurant owners make. They became a victim of their own success and have lost the quality of their food and service. At best, the location in Cape fair is a 2-star location now. The others, including the Billy Gail locations are 3-star at best for their lunches and dinners. So sad to see what was one of the best restaurants we ever ate at become one of the restaurants that we now avoid. read more

Wow - amazing fried catfish! We're visiting the area this week and local friends invited us out to dinner on Christmas Day. My wife and I shared two meals: - Pork Tenderloin Basket with Fries - Catfish Basket with Onion Rings (upgrades) There's a bag connected to the restaurant with a large tap beer selection. We both had large glasses of Stella. The pork tenderloin was 8 ounces of hand pounded, hand breaded pork, battered with crushed crackers and fried. It came on a bun with sliced red onion, lettuce and sliced tomato. I love breaded pork tenderloins (BPT) and this one was real nice. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. The fries were coated and fried crisp. Perfect. The Catfish was the real star tonight. Lightly breaded with a cornmeal better and fried perfectly. It came with 3 nice filets. The onion ring mugs were decent. The fish was amazing! This was a bit outside of West Branson, so a bit of a haul for use but worth it! read more

When we first started coming here, the food was excellent....all of it. The last couple of visits though, the food seems to have gone downhill. Today I got the catfish (swai) and fried chicken basket. The fish was just okay. The thinner parts were pretty hard and dry, but the thicker parts were fine. The chicken was awful! It used to have a very thin coating on it and was really moist. This time, it was thickly coated (think of KFC extra crispy). It was greasy and the inside was really dry. The fried okra tasted a little stale. It was chewy. The baked beans were still really good! My husband's broccoli was pretty decent. It's really too bad, because we really liked this place and had referred many people here and brought many visitors here too. read more

Giving a four even though my rib experience was NOT good. I ordered the Cajun ribs they were very dry I took only 3bites not 3 ribs 3 bite's. I was not a fortunate as my wife and daughter on their selection. Wife's pulled pork was really good. My daughters chicken fried steak was huge and really good. Me & my bf both got food poisoning. I am pregnant and have to go to the ER. Called manager, no empathy, or sympathy what so ever. Flat Creek is our absolute favorite restaurant. We even had an amazing server named Michael, we tipped him $40 on a $60 tab and spoke to the manager to let him know how amazing Michael was and how we had a phenomenal experience When I talked to the manager, he said well if you ever decide to come back ask for Bill and Ill get you some catfish. Wow! We visited Silver Dollar City during spring break with the g-kids and on the way home noticed the sign for all you can eat crab legs. Which immediately caught our attention. So many items to choose from on the menu and a fantastic kids menu which offers even a rib plate for options. We ordered 3 chicken drummies and French fries, crab legs, salad and baked potatoes . Okay, so we had a super long day in Springfield at the Aquarium and a 1.5 hour drive South to the Lakehouse. Starting early this year and it felt great! Everyone was super hungry and we arrived about 4:30 for an early dinner. The place was already half full! And, now we know why. This all started with a referral from a fishing guide about a year ago. We started with a "Relaxer", that did the trick and a local blonde ale. Both exceptional. Son and Girlfriend wanted potato skins - man they were loaded and filling. My wife ordered the Seafood 4 Ways - far more than she'd ever eat, but she wanted to share the crab legs with us. My son's girlfriend and I got the Broasted Chicken. That's a thing in this area, but it's excellent and less greasy! Every side we had was excellent too. My son got the All You Can Eat Catfish filets. So we're basically having this awesome meal and Our server accidentally lost control of a Chicken thigh my wife had stacked too high with the table dishes and it flopped in her lap as he lifted it away! LOL, we all were feeling really "Relaxed" and we were not go to a Prom! Nonetheless, dude felt badly "Victor" and graciously brought us two kick ass desserts. Cinnamon bun cheesecake and a chocolate/cherry chocolate cheesecake! Not necessary, but so awesome for him to do. He cares! We all could not actually figure what was the best part of the meal. Mom taking one for the team for free desserts or the plates so packed with awesome food - it was good at every level. I'll be honest with everyone and just say this area struggles with good restaurants that sustain quality, service and cleanliness - 3 must haves in this industry. With all the food we had, our bill was less than $100 and was worth $150 easily. The staff and managers were on target with every level of service. Kudos to your management team. Yelpers, this gem is a bit out of the way, but well worth the drive. Be sure to ask for Victor and take one for the team, too! Crawfish were the smallest things I have seen in my life and not good. Steak was ok but they do not know what medium rare means at all. Prices are nuts for what you get as well. I stopped by Flat Creek after a float trip on the river with some family and friends. It is a great destination after kayaking/floating, and the restaurant serves huge food portions for hungry kayakers! I ordered the fried catfish basket, and I loved it. The catfish was very flavorful, and the portions were extremely generous. The amount of French fries that come with your meal is insane! You can pay ~$1 more for all you can eat catfish, but you would have to have a tremendous appetite to finish the first serving plus more! Several of my friends ordered the sirloin steak, and two of them had to send them back to be cooked more since their "medium rare" order was much more blue/rare than expected. The way that they cooked everyone's steaks seemed to be a bit inconsistent from person to person, but they were very nice and understanding when my friends sent their steaks back. The service was wonderful-- our waitress (Autumn) was very friendly and attentive. The only drawback was the septic tank smell that was very apparent outside. We had a table on the back deck, and the sewage stench was not pleasant while eating. read more
