FD's is our favorite restaurant. We dine there often. They serve very good food and have a wonderful and varied menu. Their prices are inexpensive for the quality of food that is served. First time in years for FDs for us. We were a party of 4 who were celebrating a birthday (but we didn't tell.) The hostesses were super friendly at the front desk and they had their hands full with the Sunday crowd. Once we were seated our server Jason(I think) did an absolutely exceptional job taking care of us throughout our leisurely lunch that started with the Triple Dip. Two of us ordered FD's Trio that included grilled, fried and crab stuffed shrimp, and I added some salmon to feel healthy. Our other party members had the chicken tenders and Hawaiian Chicken. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and again our server kept our drinks full and lots of fun banter. Menu prices are very reasonable as well. As far as ambiance and decor, honestly nothing really stands out. The dining rooms are nice and have lots of light. Unfortunately it's really noisy with a big crowd. The parking lot was crazy tight as it shares one with the next door Texas Road House, which we don't prefer. Overall, an excellent experience and it's definitely a new repeater for us. read more

Boring run of the mill chain food. It bored me. I ordered a steak, got gristle (90%of it). Was berated by the server because I didn't say anything. (*the server was slammed and didn't come back after dropping off the food until the check). The cook/owner then came out and berated me, asking why I didn't send it back. He clearly saw the tried but uneaten gristle on my plate. He didn't care. Have not been back and won't be back. read more

Everything about this restaurant is first class (service, food quality, atmosphere) with surprisingly low prices. We had lunch here at noon on a Monday and just got in before a line started to form. There were 4 of us and first time here for all. The menu is broad enough for all to be happy - seafood , chicken , salads, pasta, and beef. I had the cedar planked salmon with bourbon sauce and it was amazing. For sides I had a baked potato and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo tasted like I was fine dining in New Orleans. In fact if I get the chance to dine here again, I'll have a bowl of gumbo and the side salad. It had plump sautéed shrimp on top and was perfectly seasoned with spices. We shared a piece of Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream Sunday for dessert. This restaurant does everything very well! read more

Very impressed with this place. The appetizer was excellent, and the meal overall exceeded my expectations. The biggest surprise was the price--you get incredible quality for what you pay. The food was fresh and flavorful, the server was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. It was absolutely packed at 1:30 on a Monday afternoon, which speaks for itself. What a great place to eat! We are new to the area and were looking for a good place for seafood. Found FD's Grillhouse and boy, were we in luck! I had the fish & chips and they were amazing! My wife went with grilled shrimp, and she loved them (I also had to steal one). The restaurant was ultra chic, clean lines and lots of glass to bring in light. Very cool. Went in Oct 11th @ 10:30 to place a to go order and was the first to order, placed order at the bar. 10:45 saw orders being placed on tables. 10:48 asked if my order would be brought to bar? Bartender said "oh I see it and guess they aren't going to bring it to the bar. I'll have to go get it". So I wasn't sure how long it had been sitting there so I told the guy at the front it's probably cold by now. He said it hasn't been there over 4 minutes. How on earth would he know its been 4 minutes? Really dissapointed in the service there. We're in town on a medical visit and have been trying a few places close-by to feed us during our stay. Being from the Nashville area, we were unfamiliar with FD's Grillhouse. I pulled up the menu online, saw the reasonable prices, saw delicious looking food, and proceeded to order. From what I could gather in the waiting area, the restaurant appeared clean and well staffed. I had little interaction with the people, but those I spoke to briefly were professional and nice. The food was a little delayed, but that is always to be expected for takeout. Overall satisfaction for the food was positive. In fact, my wife ordered dinner again the next day while I was laid up in the hospital and again on the day of my return. Thanks! read more

For what this place is, it's a good place, good value and an overall good experience. I always say...this place and Cheddars...you get an entree...which is easily at least $4 more anywhere else. And this place gives you an ample portion size. Food is overall always good. Are these the greatest stuffed and grilled shrimp I've ever had? Well no....but they also have a $15.95 price point and come with two sides. And....overall, the food has a very good taste....despite (not) being colossal sized shrimp. read more

We used the waitlist and only waited about 5-10 minutes versus the 30-40 on a Saturday evening. The fried pickles are a must. Perfect flavoring, the coating was great. Ranch was nice compliment. I've had the ribs, the salmon, and the chicken fingers. The chicken fingers are great, cooked well and flavorful. Not too dry or greasy. The cole slaw is one of my fav sides. Not too much vinegar, great balance and consistency. The salmon is also good if looking for something healthier. The broccoli didn't have much flavor so definitely on the healthy side. Great meal. I've been to FD's Grillhouse 10+ times, both dining in and to-go, and it's one of the most consistently well-run restaurants in Springfield. The food is always good, the menu is well put together, and everything comes out prepared the way it should. You can tell there's a strong operation behind the scenes -- it feels clean, organized, and reliable every time. Service has always been solid, and overall it's just a place I don't hesitate to recommend or return to. The only drawback, and it's not a dealbreaker, is the dining room acoustics. It's a beautiful space, but when it fills up, the noise really carries and can get pretty loud. That said, it's still a go-to for me and somewhere I'd happily eat anytime. read more

Wonderful 1st visit to celebrate 35th Wedding Anniversary. Used the waitlist option on Yelp and only waited a few minutes after arriving ahead of others waiting for a table. Started with the fried pickle appetizer and it was delicious. Glass of moscato enjoyed the fruity flavor. Both of us had the cedar plank salmon- which was fantastic. Comparable to any salmon dish I had living in Seattle. Great waitress who though busy did not neglect checking in. The restaurant was full and a bit noisy, but food and prices totally made up for it. We always come back. It has become our go to restaurant for good food at a reasonable price. Conveniently located near SMG. We like to dine in the bar area. We always get the firecracker shrimp and usually the salmon quinoa salad. We have tried almost everything but these two are favorites. My fiancé and I stopped here on our way back home from our getaway weekend and it was extremely busy, but we got attended almost right away and received our food almost right away as well. As an appetizer I had the Crispy Pickles, which are lightly fried pickles served with house buttermilk and the Triple Dip, which included black bean dip, homemade queso blanco and fresh salsa with warm tortilla chips. If I could have just the crispy pickles as my main dish I most definitely would!! For the main dish I had their FD's Trio, you can pick any 3 main dishes out of 6! I had the Chicken Tenders, Grilled Shrimp, and the Fresh North Atlantic Salmon. When the plates arrived, it looked very presentable, but it didn't look like it was enough to get me filled up... I... was wrong. I had about three bites in and I was full!!! I was disappointed in myself because the food was so amazing!! And we weren't even close to being back home, but the food so was soo good we took it to go. The food here is always soooooo good! And the best part is that the prices are so darn reasonable. This place is always busy so pack your patience but it is worth the wait. I love their trio plate. The salmon, cod and stuffed shrimp are my norms and they are da BOMB! One small problem is that they have so few desserts but for me, that is really a positive since it keeps me from eating any sweets lol. I selected this restaurant from an online search as we do not live in Springfield. The menu and the environment looked really nice. Wow - apparently everyone in Springfield feels the same way! The line was out the door! Good thing we used Yelp to get on the waiting list. Service was quick and friendly. Their house salad was unlike anything - delicious glazed walnuts, and green apple slices and sweet cornbread croutons were a fun surprise. My husband got the combo of battered chicken, cod, and grilled salmon with fries. All absolutely delicious. The batter was unique - light, crispy, and has somewhat of a cornmeal texture. I got the fish tacos. Came out as a fish burrito - not exactly what I expected, but still nice. The Keylime pie is a must try. It was the most tart Keylime pie we had ever had.
