My family and I had the pleasure of dining at the Storming Crab restaurant in Springfield, MO yesterday, and we were absolutely blown away by the incredible experience we had there. If you're a seafood lover like us, this place is an absolute must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of our time there. The restaurant's interior is cozy, with a nautical theme that instantly transports you to a coastal paradise. Storming Crab boasts an impressive menu filled with an array of mouthwatering seafood options. This was our first time here and we were hooked as soon as we walked in. Our excellent waitress, Ashley, warmly welcomed us and introduced us to a culinary flavor explosion - the seafood bread that would forever alter our dining experience. The garlic-infused, buttery, and delightfully cheesy crab bread was nothing short of a revelation. Its taste was SO good we had to order more. After finding out it was our first time eating there, Ashley gave us a recommendation to select one of the dinner combos. First, you choose your combo of seafood, that all come with sausage, potatoes, and corn. Then, you choose your boil flavor from their 5 options of flavors. Finally, you get to choose the spice level, so you can have it as mild or as fiery as you desire. For our appetizer we indulged in a half-dozen of the freshest raw oysters available. These pristine shellfish arrived on a chilled, circular platter, nestled on a bed of ice. Alongside them were carefully presented accompaniments, including wedges of zesty lemon, piquant horseradish, fiery Tabasco sauce, and a tantalizing seafood cocktail sauce, enhancing the oyster experience to perfection. We opted for the "#6 Dinner combo," a delightful medley of snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, and corn. We decided to add a pound of crawfish and black mussels, along with a half-pound of extra sausage, that were all seasoned to perfection with their signature crab house Cajun sauce. we went with the mild spice level, and it was just the right amount of kick to elevate the flavors without overwhelming our taste buds. Each seafood item was impeccably cooked, tender, and succulent, making it a seafood lover's dream come true. What truly sets Storming Crab apart is their unique dining experience. Forget about traditional utensils - here, you're given bibs and gloves to dive into your seafood feast with your hands. It's messy, it's fun, and it adds a delightful element of novelty to your dining adventure. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, and I was thoroughly impressed with the value for money. The Storming Crab Feast could easily satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. In conclusion, Storming Crab in Springfield, MO, is a seafood lover's paradise. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and unique dining concept, it's a dining experience that you won't soon forget. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving some mouthwatering seafood, Storming Crab is the place to be.

Food was good. Had the boil with shrimp, lobster, and snow crab. Lobster was a little overdone but good. Service was good.

Dinner Combo #7 with an order of Green Mussel (crab house cajun + garlic butter seasoning with medium heat)

Storming Crab is a quick cajun fix in 417-land. Finding decent cajun-seasoned seafood is difficult out here in the Midwest, but Storming Crab was a nice surprise! We ordered the Dinner Combo #7, plus an order of Green Mussels, with Crab House Cajun and Garlic Butter flavors and medium spice. The 3 of us finished every single bite of the platter! We asked for Super Hot spice on the side to dip our seafood in and it was a good level of spice. We'll come back to try Sam's Special next time. The only con is the sauces are VERY oily. If you LOVE garlic, get the garlic butter seasoning; otherwise, it may be too much for other's. For starters, we ordered a half order of Raw Oysters and they gave us complimentary Seafood Bread. The Raw Oysters came with Tabasco, a marinara sauce, and ginger-wasabi. It tasted fresh and tasted best paired with Tabasco, marinara, and a hint of lemon, but the ginger-wasabi had too much kick. Though every bite of the Seafood Bread was great, it's very oily and heavy. We'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I do like the dry rub season seafood boils . The rub is too oily for my liking. It is pricey. Service was always good.

Very good place! Good flavors too. A bit on the pricier side but it's seafood! Definitely recommend it!

Gracey and Bruce were our servers. Both were great. Gracey immediately removed trash ( which is a rarity now days). The service reminded me of a cruise vacation from several decades ago. My wife and I shared the trio ( salmon, shrimp and chicken tenders) plus baked potato, steamed broccoli and a salad. Our bill was a bit over $20 plus tip. The only thing I wish we would have changed is we would double up the shrimp instead of the chicken. 3 at our table raved at the sirloin. My father in law said his baby back rips were wonderful. Everyone raved at the food and the service. My only warning is get there early--- don't expect to walk to table at noon. We got there when it opened at 11am and they accommodated our group of 8 immediately. My brother in law drove back for a return trip a couple days later ( I had to go home). My opinion is since Covid most places don't do good service anymore. FD's does.

I had the fish & chips and they were amazing! My wife went with grilled shrimp, and she loved them (I also had to steal one). The restaurant was ultra chic, clean lines and lots of glass to bring in light. Very cool. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. And finally, the price was really reasonable. Great dining experience, and if I could rate it higher, I would!

I never had anything this good the wait was a little long but that's alright i was sad about not seeing any lobster in the lobster tank as someone who's never been to red lobster before was looking forward to it

This most recent visit was a rather disappointing 2 star review instead of prior solid 5 star reviews standard of locations on the West Coast. I am wondering if it is just a MidWest thing but there should be consistency across the board. The first notice was the cheddar bat biscuits were a different consistency and not a speck of cheddar. They were tasteless and really seemed to resemble a flavorless Bisquick biscuit. I asked for a fresh basket and the next batch was the same flavorless biscuit taste, even dunking them in my shrimp scampi juice did not save them. I ordered the classic seaside shrimp trio which is shrimp scampi, shrimp linguini and waltz traditional fried shrimp. There was very little shrimp in the pasta, a lot less than portion of pasta as before as well. The prices have increased by 40% but the quantity and quality has decreased by the same. I had a rude awakening as now RL is charging for a side dinner salad that used to be complimentary with meal. The only thing that was really good was the Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, they were tasty with the dipping sauce so very fortunate for that. We won't be back to RL for many reasons. I did provide some low-key quiet feedback of our meal experience on the way out but the Manager didn't respond as if he cared as he stated "I have been a manager for 5 years now and nothing has changed".

Great Friday night dinner. Service was very good. Food was very flavorful…read more Plenty of parking. Service was good. Standout for me was the food was all delicious. Meal starts with popovers which are a unique and they were warm and good. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and the sauce was delish. The crab cake was amazing, so much crab and flavors were great. When they serve the steak, they ask you to cut into it before they leave. Out of five, two were slightly off but we didn't report it. A medium was medium-, almost medium rare. A medium rare was medium+. However, the flavors were great and still enjoyable. The cheddar jalapeño mashed potatoes were noted as a highlight of the sides. The Brussels were good as were the mashed and the baked potatoes also looked good Plenty of desserts and the surprise birthday wishes and brownie lava like cake. The smores brûlée was unique and tasty. The key lime cheesecake was massive and it was noted as good. They also have these cool Italian mints. Great meal, I will be back.

Meatballs: Excellent. Bacon wrapped dates: Always a great appetizer. Watch how many you get, as the very sweet balsamic reduction is a lot of sweet to have. Calamari: Very good option to choose. Wedge Salad: Pretty good, but wish they had chopped up the bacon and onion. Bacon however, was darn good...just not much on it and done as a strip. The misses tonight - I mean major misses: French Onion Soup: I'm a salt person but this was majorly majorly over salted. Tonight, the salt level was ridiculous. T Bone steak: Underwhelming. The steak was hardly seasoned and beef flavor was meh. Lastly, the server tonight was excellent. Her parents obviously taught her how to communicate and excellent eye contact and general personality. The kitchen majorly miss-timed some of the service to our table. For instance, the side potato dishes came out, at least 15 minutes after our entrees. But, this place was running full tilt and it was a full house.
