New to us bakery, found based on the excellent reviews. Stopped by to pick up cakes for a birthday celebration. BEST CAKES EVER!!! We had a white cake and a strawberry cake. The flavors were amazing, perfectly moist, and the icing was just the right amount of sweet...so good! Cutest little cakes, friendly staff who helped us out within a day's notice, and absolutely delicious! We are from out of town, but would definitely make the trip for any of our future celebrations!! read more

Dairy free and gluten free same cupcake vanilla and chocolate expensive 5 plus a cupcake but we're very good

We strolled in one afternoon to pick up a sweet treat! The place was very clean and had a nice display of the available flavors. We selected 4 different cupcakes and took them to go! There was a little bit of savings to purchase 4 cupcakes. The cupcakes were delicious and full of flavor! The service was excellent as well. We will be back. read more

I live only 3 minutes away and have eaten an embarrassingly large amount of urban cupcakes in the past 2 months. My favorites: 1. Strawberry Cheesecake 2. Pumpkin spice 3. Anything with a chocolate base I wasn't a huge fan of the red velvet, raspberry pearl, or the caramel macchiato. I haven't tried any of the seasonal flavors but autumn. My favorite year-round one had got to be the strawberry cheesecake. And I'm mainly a chocolate fan. One issue: the icing is wayyy too sweet. I scraped about half of it off. By the way, Urban Cup has four flavors that are gluten free (cookies and creme, classic vanilla, raspberry pearl, and double chocolate). They even have one gluten-free dairy-free option, which is classic vanilla. read more

10/10 - the best cupcakes I've ever had! In January and July I stock up on the Elvis and freeze them so I can enjoy throughout the year. They're that good. The plain birthday and banana split are also at the top of my list. Honestly, I've never had a flavor I didn't like. I order them for special events and birthdays. You won't regret making a special trip!! The shop is adorable and the employees are always kind. read more

This is a place I find myself coming back to time and time again. I special ordered the mini Valentine's Day cakes earlier this year and today I picked up my special ordered Christmas cookies. I dropped off a dozen to my mother's office and the doctors and nurses LOVED them. I took a dozen to the EMS crews at work and they were loved just as much. Very friendly staff every time we stop by. Keep doing an amazing job! read more

So many good flavors it is hard to choose favorites but the Italian with coconut cream is to die for. We also loved the caramel macchiato (nice balance of flavor to avoid teetering into too sweet) .... And the classic vanilla and chocolate cookies n cream were home runs. read more

Wish I would have been aware of the almond extract flavor in the icing. Got the cookies and cream as well as the mint chocolate and was baffled why all I could taste was almond. The cake itself was moist, they have a cute shop, and very pretty cupcakes. The extract is what made it unenjoyable for me, as mint and almond don't exactly go great together. read more

My husband and I have tried every cupcake, they're all incredible. Our favorites are the Italian and the banana split - love that they have decently priced coffee, too! a good deal on a dirty chai. read more

Any time we want the best cupcake in Springfield we go to the Urban Cup. We were introduced to Urban Cup when we moved to Springfield three years ago. We will not go anywhere else for cupcakes!! read more

Best cupcakes and icing cookies in town. Will NOT disappoint! I've tried many different cupcakes and have not had a bad one yet. Enjoy!!

It was really difficult to find this place as it is kind of tucked back off the main road. My Google Maps program started directing me to do multiple u-turns, so clearly we were lost. On a Monday they close at 3:00, and we were rapidly approaching that deadline on our last day in town before heading back to Arizona. Panic besieged our merry band as we realized we might not make it in time, and it was going to be only moments before we turned on each other. We were quickly approaching critical mass and a reenactment of The Lord of the Flies appeared imminent when we miraculously arrived at our destination with mere minutes to spare. Was the potential destruction of my marriage worth it? After snarfing multiple cupcakes from the Urban Cup I can honestly say yes, yes it was. read more

So I'm a sprinkles girly but ummm let's just talk about this carrot cake cupcake at Urban Cup... it made me do a happy dance. I recommend it and the lemon drop. Staff was amazing this past Saturday. Cupcakes are amazing and out of this world! I enjoyed getting these for my family and seeing their delight!

Best cupcake I've ever had! The banana split cupcake should be on everyone's must try list!

Really a diamond in the rough!!! These cupcakes are sooooooo good! I'm sad I don't live in the area anymore, and I had only discovered this shop a month before moving. When I visit, this place will be a priority stop! This is what my 8 year old chose for her birthday cake over a regular cake because "they taste the best!" read more

Stopped in on the search for some macarons, google stated that Urban Cup sold them. I don't know if he was the owner or manager but he came over to assist the front counter. The staff was a bit shocked that we came in for macarons. And stated that they used to sell them, but stopped after cupcakes did better. I found it extra sweet of them to give us free cupcakes due to the fact that they did not sell the macarons that we were looking for. So that being said HUGE THANKS URBAN CUP!! I had the mint chocolate chip, this was so good! Normally I stray away from cupcakes because the frosting is usually too sweet. Thankfully they use butter cream and I will definitely be back to purchase more! Coworker had The Classic, he also enjoyed his as well. See yall soon! read more

Best cupcakes EVER!! I would recommend to anyone!! They are so moist and yummy with so many different flavors !

As an HR Manager, these posed as the perfect treat to present to staff, for staffing recognition and/or accomplishments! These tasteful treats were received with immense gratitude and accolades! Also, what an inclusive business decision to have delicious gluten free options! The Urban Cup staff presented with kindness and grace, when questioned. Thank you, and I believe I have been convinced in returning! read more

Amazing gluten free cupcakes!! I ordered various flavors for my engagement party and they were all a hit. I am thinking in hire them for my wedding cake. Especially, when it's so hard to find good gluten free around here. read more

Cupcakes are good, but like many businesses in Springfield; they seemed very pushy. As a local, not being too far, I know of the business well. When in my uniform they're very welcoming. Today I decided to skate to get a session in and a treat for the family. With no one but one other group to serve. I felt rushed when asking the box sizes, and picking out my cupcakes. I was then eagerly checked out and sent on my way. I felt this might be an appearance thing, and slight racial problem. Springfield is not in the condition to be picky with service and help it receives. read more

Absolutely Delicious and one of a kind!! They are so Satisfying. The cupcakes are some of the best I've ever Tasted! read more

Best cupcakes I've ever had. Pricey, but worth every single penny. Amazing selection of flavors. So, so good.

Love this place! They used to be located downtown, but they've relocated to e grand st, new owners. I honestly think the cupcakes taste better now? But I came in on a Sunday with a friend and they had a buy 3 get one free! We got the strawberry cheesecake, German chocolate, carrot, and peanut. OH they're sooooo good! Light, moist! Not too sweet. One of my go to places for dessert now. They've got mini samples to try when you come in. Also, the place is very small. I think there was only one table. So, it's best to plan on getting these cupcakes to go! read more

It's a beautiful thing when you can support a local business with a clean store, an excellent product, and caring social views. I cannot say enough good things about this adorable little shop! The cupcakes are huge and worth the price and you can even pick up your local honey there! read more

This place is right across my apartment complex which is DANGEROUS! They change their flavors up frequently so I go in and buy a few every month or so to try new ones with my friends. They are so good!!!! Plus their rewards system is so good, I save $5 every few times I come in. read more

My ultimate weakness is the Urban Cup!! Beyond amazing cupcakes... if you haven't indulged ... you are missing out!!

Who doesn't love cupcakes!? These do not have an oily texture like many cupcakes I've had. The butter cream is delicious. I don't have a favorite...yet read more

Delicious gluten free cupcakes, staff was friendly, would happily purchase again. Very rich and great flavor selection

As a big fan of the former Cup and Urban Cup downtown, I was so disappointed when they closed. It was great to see updates on the business facebook page that they reopened July 2018 in a different location. I am writing just a couple of weeks after their reopening. The current location is in more of an industrial/residential area on Grand just east of Glenstone. You may think you have the wrong directions, but never fear, it's in a building with a few other businesses and it's still the same glorious cupcakes you have always loved. My husband and I split a Summer Dream and a Chocoholic and instantly agreed that yes, these are as good as ever (maybe better)! Affordable prices and *superb* quality like always. To me, the strength of The Urban Cup is how every component (cake, filling, frosting) is high quality. This makes it the absolute best because most other cupcake shops will skimp on at least one thing (i.e., dried out boxed cake mix topped with fancy good frosting). Not here! That keeps us coming back. One disclaimer: things are different here than in the larger downtown storefront. It seems they have a spacious kitchen for bulk orders (?) but there's not an eat-in area so plan to take your cupcakes to go. This was fine with us, but I felt it's worth mentioning in my opinion since we're from out of town and typically ate them in-store. read more

I am a huge fan of this place. I usually get a red velvet and confetti. They have coupons sent out for birthdays and are always friendly when I enter the store. I was glad to hear they reopened under new owners and have a store on grand. read more

It was the BEST cupcake that I've ever had. I live for that buttercream. And the service was amazing.

We love the Cup cupcakes! They are so delicious! Our favorites are Italian Cream, Caramel Machiatto, German Chocolate & Carrot Cake. Pre-Covid they had some of the flavors (as samples) that you could try (I hope they bring that back). I really don't think you could go wrong with any of their flavors, though. Sometimes, I get a dozen minis (which are a little smaller than a regular home-baked cupcake) & give them to customers as a Thank You. read more

The red velvet is definitely my fave. But the others are great as well. I got my dad a variety 4 pack for his birthday & he loved them all.

This place was amazing!! I bake on a daily basis and I wanted to try something different thats not mine. I'm so happy I found this place I got the pumpkin cupcake and lemon cupcake with lemon filling and they were a hit! The lady was super sweet and patient as I took more than 5mins to decide what flavor I should get out of the huge variety they offer. I will totally be going back for sure;) read more
