Service was very good. Ambiance was chill and they keep it super cold. (Not a bad thing). The doughnuts were kind of middle of the road me for me; UNLESS, you got speciality doughnuts. Then they were absolutely excellent. The coconut ones were amazing and the apple fritters were super scrumptious!!!! 100% recommend but it's only a 4 star because I felt like the regular doughnuts were a little lacking. While the Apple Fritters are delicious, possibly the best I've ever had I can no longer support this business. As I was leaving I noticed a fish with two large fish. The tank was sooooo dirty and mossy I was taken back that fish actually were living in this dump of a fish tank not only that the tank was so narrow, fish this size had no room to swim. The black and white fish was dying. His fin was droopy and these fish were suffering. I called, spoke with a female manager and told her it was awful for customers to see this abuse and neglect to fish. She assured me as wound take care of it. I can no longer give money to a business that is neglectful to animals/fish. They don't need to have fish if they can't take care of them properly. read more

Sorry to be negative but I went to St georges 6 years ago and the donuts were a lot better. Moved back in town 3 years ago and couldnt wait to go there again.But to my disapointment had less quality and left a greasy film in my mouth. They were bought out by another family and changed the taste . Because of greasy film by the middle of the day the donuts seem to fall apart and are crumbly due to the excess of oil used. Loved donuts all my life but Never received a mouth full of greasy film as these are now. Businesses are bought out by people who keep the same name but are Not the same. read more

Stopped by St. George's before I went to the airport and I'm so glad I did. The shop opens at 5am so I had plenty of time to enjoy my donut before my 8am flight. I got the Apple fritter and the original glazed. Both were very fluffy with the right amount of glaze on top. I loved that the Apple fritter had crispy edges but a very soft and fluffy center. I frequently stop at the Ozark location and it is absolutely amazing! This location not so much so. I stopped here for the first time this morning. This location is rundown and they don't have near the selection of the Ozark location. The Ozark location has wonderfully amazing Mudhouse coffee... this location has crappy extremely weak coffee, it's served in cheap styrofoam cups with paper thin cheap poor fitting lids, so I ended up wearing half of it down the front of the brand new sweater I just got for Christmas and the other half ended up all over my car because the cup holder in my car cracked a hole in the side of the cup. The doughnuts were dry and the dough was poorly mixed with dry flour lumps inside... they tasted like they have never changed their fryer oil and left a gross greasy film in my mouth. I'll stick to the Ozark location (5 stars) if I want a St George doughnut. If I want a doughnut when I'm in Springfield, I'll go to Hurts Doughnut Company (4 stars). read more

I don't know, guys. I love Hurts, but I think St. George's has stolen my heart. The quality! The quaintness! The PRICES! It's too much goodness. Whereas Hurts is a great craving filler and a brilliant way to cure an impending hangover (I assume), St. George's is the best breakfast donut place in town. It's worth rolling out of bed semi-early on a weekend for, especially if you can get in front of the inevitable line of people. Plus, their coffee is cheap cheap cheap. While the BIG donut is the size of your face and sorely tempting, the smaller ones work just fine and will only set you back one or two bucks. My personal favorite is the lemon cake donut - it's not dense at all and the icing is SO fresh and melt-in-your-mouth perfect. read more

Got donuts here on a Saturday afternoon. Just like the two stars I gave them I'd rate my experience as "Meh. I've experienced better."
