The European is always a favorite of mine! Everything I have ever had from them is so good. They always have a fun seasonal drink menu which is typically what I order from. Their sourdough toast is SO GOOD. I recently tried their macarons as well which were delicious and the perfect texture. But the coffee and cake were nice. I recommend the caramel brûlée latte (5/5) and the Dulce de Leche Latte (5/5). The chocolate malted latte was meh (2/5). The chocolate mousse, and the tiramisu were very good (5/5) . The Chai Opera cake was dry (2.5/5) but the Mocha opera cake was much better (4/5). The caramel chocolate eclair was interesting, but not a must have (3/5). I wasn't a huge fan of the Ferrero Rocher cake (2/5) either, but everything was fresh. Everything is homemade. The chocolate malted latte was absolutely amazing, the espresso was smooth, it wasn't too sweet, and the malt was subtle. I'm not sure what downtown Springfield did to deserve this gem, but I'm here for it. I have been stopping here every time I'm in Springfield, since 2020. This is my favorite bakery in Springfield because they have so many options for European treats that are all baked in house. The cases are always stocked with cakes, cookies and more. I love that some cookies are bite sized and dainty. My favorite thing to do is get a mixed box of cookies and let my kids try a variety of flavors. The Italian wedding cookie is always a hit. For drinks, I have tried the matcha, blueberry lavender lemonade, and chocolate malted latte. All are delicious, the ambiance is peaceful, and the charm is undeniable. We have had 3 trips to the cafe and all were satisfactory. Twice for desserts before a movie. Service was friendly and efficient. Coffee was especially good and apple desserts have we think real sliced and cooked apples. In a flaky crust. The other desserts are quite pricey so we have not sampled them. They have a nice lower priced selection though. ( not saying they aren't good or worth the price but 8-9.00 for specialty tarts etc is more than we care to pay). Breakfast food was great and priced about the same as any other fancy place in town. Atmosphere is nice and new corner location affords for some people watching on the square as well as a patio during nice weather. One of our new favored places. Some of the best macarons I've tried! The staff was super nice as well. Some of the pastries were a bit overpriced, though. We also had someone in front of us in line purchase tons of pastries and bought all of the ones that we wanted to try, although they can't do much to prevent that. The Apple streusel was very messy and flakey and, while I enjoyed it, it wasn't worth it for the amount of mess it made. They also don't have many drink options apart from coffee and tea (some cold/iced/frozen drinks would've been appreciated!) I didn't necessarily have a bad experience here, but there are just other locations downtown that I'd prefer to visit with a larger menu and better atmosphere. I am a flight attendant who loves food. Let me tell you, this place is a gem. Definitely worth it I have tried almost everything in their dessert menu and 2 drinks within my two trips and here's what I found. Food- aesthetically pleasing. The food tastes as good as it looks. On my two occasions I have gone here, all of the food stayed consistent. The cakes are the star because of how yummy it looks but the macaroons are to die for. I have tried many bakeries since I love sweets and this is one of the best macaroons I have tried. The drinks isn't dissappointing either. Even the weird combinations such as lavender and blueberry work together in perfect harmony on my tongue. Definitely recommend their food. Inside the place: It's a mix between cozy and fancy which I like. I have seen people hangout with friends. They have chess that you can play which is always a plus. You can also take aesthetic pictures here with your food on Instagram. For my more practical people, it's a good place to chill. Even if many people hang out here. It's still a quiet place. The desserts that are most popular are always out (we came at 11am) & when we asked they let us know that what they have out is it for now but they will be restocking at 2-3pm. So we came back around 3:45pm & yet again the passion fruit dessert was out. Upon asking the gal said whatever is in the case is what they have. When we let them know we live 35minutes away & tried calling twice before coming in but the phone just kept running with no answer -- all of a sudden the gal said one second let me ask. Comes back to let us know they will be restocking the case in about 15-20 minutes if we'd like to wait. We again waited... & magically within 5 minutes 5-6 passion fruit desserts appeared in the case. Nothing else got restocked. When people are willing to pay $7.50 for a single dessert & you just keep them out back? Why? For what? For your next "restock"? This was our fourth time back in the last year & every time we think maybe it's just that one person who isn't nice but it can't be a coincidence that it's such bad customer service every time we've come in. read more
