Totally service with a smile. This was a great little drive-thru which apparently I visited five years ago (from a previous review). It was close to my hotel. I loved my plain latte. Dark Stone's version was very heavy on the chocolate syrup. Too much for me. I could not detect any coffee flavor. I'll be honest, I this was only the second time I've visited Dark Stone because the first time was years ago, shortly after they first opened, I think. Back then, they made their iced lattes with cold brew instead of espresso, so they tasted very watered down, and I was just unimpressed. I hadn't been back since because of that and it's on the wrong side of two. For me. But I went back today to give them a chance, mainly because it was on the Coffee Fest Passport, so it was free but also because a friend who has a similar taste in coffee recommended it. I got The O.C., which is chocolate and orange, because it's one of my all time favorite flavor combinations, but it's nearly impossible to find. I got it iced with oatmilk and it was quite good! The girl that served me was super sweet as well. I'm glad I gave them another shot. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I visited for the first time this morning and had a good experience. Purchased two lattes and one pup cup. The coffee was quite good (as well as the pup cup, presumably). The barista was friendly and service was attentive, if somewhat slow. Ambience was unremarkable as this is location is exclusively drive-thru. I'll likely visit again soon. read more

I was so excited to hear a coffee shop was opening near me! It's pretty hard to find, and the only reason I was able to is because I went to Hardy's and seen it sitting behind the building. Since then they have installed a huge sign by the street. I really wanted to like the coffee since it's reasonably priced, the staff if friendly, and it's close to me, but I can't get past the taste' or lack of I should say. The coffee taste like someone watered down premium coffee to the point of no return. To be honest I didn't taste much coffee at all! I'm not sure if they are banking on people buying flavored coffee, but the plain was absolutely the weakest tasteless coffee I've ever had from a business. Because of that I will most likely never try them again unless someone just brings me some. read more

My favorite coffee spot in Springfield! If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend the little drive through window or walking by to visit Dark Stone. The staff is friendly, expedient, and the prices here are great. Almost everything on the menu is about $2, and they make a great vanilla americano. I'm a big fan of their little punch card since our team likes to stop by in the mornings or afternoons (usually, I think they open around 6am and close around 5pm). This place is awesome! I stopped by on a Tuesday morning and got a coffee. I am not much on specialty coffees so I asked for a black coffee and the waitress told me they had flavored black coffees as well. I tried the the flavored coffee for the day that was cherry and amaretto (I think) and it was delicious. Perfect balance of a little flavor but not too overwhelming. They are set up great for quick drive thru and have the friendliest staff! Highly recommend trying them for you next caffeine fix. read more

If you're driving through Springfield, and if you enjoy a great coffee, this is a must-stop! My husband and I discovered this wonderful place on our way to Branson and needed a little pick-me-up to make it the rest of the way. I told the barista what flavor I wanted, but couldn't decide on hot, iced, or frozen. He quickly suggested that the caramel mocha is great iced. It wasn't the highest priced item, which told me he wasn't just trying to make a bigger sale. That impressed me. I was further impressed when I took that first sip of the iced coffee. Wow! Not overly sweet - just the perfect balance of all the flavors. Some flavored coffees lose the coffee flavor when the other stuff is added, but not this one. He was very professional and engaging. They work directly with a roaster, so you know their beans are fresh. This will be a regular stop for us when traveling through Springfield! read more
