Arrive early Latte

We stopped by for a coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere and setting. Really neat little shop, coffee was great! Would recommend, we did not try any food so not sure on that side of things. Be worth a trip

I don't live in Springfield, but I've visited constantly for years. And I've never taken a trip without at least one stop at Traveller's House. They're consistent, which is only a virtue when you're good to begin with. And it has ALWAYS been good. First of all, it's a coffee shop. So how's the coffee? It's solid. Not the best, objectively I've had better coffee from some of the downtown competition. But it's made with its own degree of love and passion that results in quality. A cup of joy rather than a regular old cup of joe. The baristas have all been incredibly nice, rivaling that of Chick Fil A service if not topping it. I've also met the owners a few times, who are humble and always try to invest in their employees and customers alike. I've been surprised that the owner has recognized me a few visits in a row with months in between. It's a genuine place that makes me feel more welcome than perhaps any coffee shop I've experienced. There's also good food, pastries, and some creative drinks such as the "arrive late" and "arrive early". They're happy to make accommodations and customizations as well. The vibe is cozy. Still leaning towards cafe, but there's a few cushioned arm chairs and a couch as well, and if it's a cool day you may be blessed by the fireplace. Always a warm welcome. The music has sometimes been Christian or faith-inspired, sometimes just smooth jazz or acoustic. Today in particular, it's Michael Bublé. No complaints there. WiFi is somewhat of a weak point. But it's a fantastic place to meet up with people, enjoy a date, or simply have some you-time. So long as you don't need intense internet connectivity. I'd give the coffee and food a solid 4 stars. But the experience as a whole is easily 5. Heart and soul shan't be overlooked.

I don't get it. This place is very popular, but the food is average at best, limited, and slightly pricey. There are no salads and def. not a healthy option place. But - this place does have a conference room and lots of indoor seating, It's cute inside, but no different than any other coffee shop with non-padded seats, but there are couches. I had to go out of my way to hang out here and unless I'm in the neighborhood - I couldn't justify it. They do have lactose free options for drinks and lots of drink options that include bottomless coffee. The trick is to get lots of their yummy drinks, but pass on their food. There is limited outdoor seatings, but a few tables. All and all, good place to pick up coffee if you live in this hood and get your loyalty points/annual membership.

Great local , low key coffee house. The lavender vanilla latte is my favorite. The quiche and breakfast sandwiches are great, too.

Loved our stay in the mansion! My daughter booked it and I didn't know what to expect…read more The place has a really interesting story and the owner has put a lot of love into its restoration and operations. Heck, she even had Brad Pitt's dad help with wallpapering! The place, obviously, is not a chain hotel and if you are expecting things to be like a chain hotel, you might not be happy here. But if you are reading the reviews you probably already know this. We stayed on a Friday night, so we were there for the weekend breakfast, which I enjoyed. We had not heard ANY sounds from other guests at any point during the night, so were surprised that other people were there at breakfast. A guest at the other table said to us that he was surprised to see anyone else was here as they had not heard us either! It turns out that their room was very close to ours; and there were guests in other rooms as well! Wish all hotels were that quiet! Because of the historic nature of the building, it seems it might be inaccessible to people with mobility issues. Our room (the Chapel suite) was pink and frilly and not really my style of decor - but it's not like I'm moving in! It was definitely a change from usual hotel decor, which is never to my style either! It's a pretty large place and is not as cozy as a small B&B. But it's very reasonably priced compared to those. Beds were quite comfortable, more so than most hotels in my experience. We had reserved 2 nights, but had to cut our vacation short due to weather predictions on the route home. They were completely understanding and didn't charge us for the cancellation of the next night. Will definitely stay here again!

A very cozy and unique place for a reasonable price! The breakfast was also great! I would stay…read moreagain!

I ordered a bad bunny energy drink and a breakfast burrito with hot sauce on the side. Nobody I spoke with was particularly friendly and they did not give me a straw when they gave me my food and drink, but I thought maybe she might have been coming back with it because she didn't say anything, just closed the window. She did not come back, just wasn't in the mood to return my politeness, I guess. Eventually, another person came to the window and gave me a straw when I told them what I was waiting for, but I talked to 3 different people and perhaps they were just rushed that day or something, but every interaction left me feeling confused and going "Oh....Okay...?" The drink was okay, though not very good and I would not order it again. The burrito had ingredients missing, like the cheese, guacamole, and cream sauce. There was plenty of meat, potatoes, and onions, plus a bit of egg, but their menu listed other ingredients (what I listed above). Also, the hot sauce I asked for was not hot sauce but some sort of cream sauce (perhaps the sauce missing from inside the burrito!) This was one of the places I was most looking forward to trying upon moving here, but I was quite disappointed between the not great customer service, food missing ingredients, and drink that was just okay.

Because the coffee tastes like SOY SAUCE MOTOR OIL. This happens to every new coffee shop in Springfield because they don't train there people. My friend even told me they don't clean the Porto filter between shots and you can tell in the taste of the espresso. I really hope they fix or get better training for their staff using the equipment. It sucks when you want to support a business but things like this happen and make it hard for me to keep coming back because I don't want to waste my money on soy sauce rancid tasting coffee that cost $7!
