Very cute little corner cafe/diner. They have serval unique specialty grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu. Both that we tried were fantastic. Their house tomato soup was delicious as well. The smallest detail ended up being my favorite part.. the homemade pickle! Hands down the best pickle I've ever had. The only downside, we waited for quite a while before we got menus or really even addressed by anyone. Then it took a while after that to get our drink orders. Overall service just seemed pretty slow. However, the food made up for it in every way! I would give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe we just came in after a big rush. The owner Kenny makes each and every customer feel welcome because he's not pretentious although he is the owner. He has a special knack for his home style dishes. The food he prepares makes you want to savor every bite and when you're down to the end of the bowl you don't want the experience to stop. The food was decent, but the overall experience left much to be desired. The restaurant was pretty dirty and the staff were rather unfriendly. When I walked in, they were all seated at one of the tables and one of them said "can we help you" in a way that made it seemed as if they were closed. We went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 10 and sat at the counter. It's a little place and and not fancy, but that doesn't bother me. The menu likes great and it was hard to choose. We didn't get his name, but the guy working the counter was friendly and talked to us a little bit. He helped me choose a breakfast sandwich. I had the Cheddar Tony - pimento (made in house), cheddar, egg, and bacon on toasted sourdough. It was cooked perfectly and it was very tasty! My husband had a bowl, the Downward Spiral. We had an unexpectedly lackluster experience at Druff's. As the top rated restaurant on Yelp, we had somewhat high expectations that simply weren't met. Don't get me wrong, if you are in the mood for a fancy grilled cheese and tomato soup on a cold winters day, this is probably the place to go. BUT - if you are looking for a good sandwich/deli shop, I would skip this. (Note: this is all in reference to their lunch items, not breakfast) The menu is quite small and only two of the sandwiches had meat on them. My sandwich (the Mitch Martin) had two thin slices of extremely overly toasted deli turkey on it. The "chips" are just plain Ruffles, I was expecting a nice kettle chip, so these were also disappointing. The other member of my party ordered the special of the day sandwich - which was basically a bacon, egg, and cheese - and he claimed Waffle House had a better version of this same sandwich. The restaurant is pretty on the inside, though small, and the service was fine. We just wouldn't recommend stopping by unless you're really craving a grilled cheese and tomato soup. read more

This is a good little place to stop for lunch (I haven't been there for dinner). They serve sandwiches, but they are creative and quite involved! I had the Action Parmesan sandwich, which was grilled chicken immersed in tomato basil sauce and mozzarella and provolone. The bread was Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Very nice, but very messy, too. I got tomato soup as my side dish, which was wonderful to dip the sandwich into. The service was very good. There wasn't much in the ambiance of the restaurant, though. We also ordered two of the meat-free grilled cheeses (pimento cheese and the grilled cheese with basil), along with two tomato soups. I don't review much but im compelled after seeing such high ratings. Maybe it was the time of the day or the day( what seemed like the most depressing diner in Springfield. Ordered take out a Bleu Blazer s bland with no evidence of Frank's red hot and Sullipants missing the bbq sauce....so it tasted like a greesy melt. It was served with one serving of stale crumbs of chips, although the other serving was better. For $20 there's much better options available. Maybe brunch is more inspiring? read more

I love this place! It is so cute and small but not too small. Everything about it is perfect, and I love the art on the walls. The windows are my favorite, they are huge and allow for great lighting. The owner, Vance I believe, is super friendly. You can tell he has put a lot of work into this restaurant and it shows. The menu is not large but I think there's something for everyone. They also have a few craft beers and offer a small menu of cocktails as well. Every time I've come in, the sandwiches are perfect and the soup is great. They always have their tomato soup and M-F they have another soup too, and it's usually different. They also sometimes have a special sandwich not on the menu. They also offer dessert from Prairie Pie which is my absolute favorite pie ever. If I had 1 suggestion, it would be to offer a vegan grilled cheese. This little hole-in-the-wall cafe is so cute. I loved all the fun fairy lights around. But the wonderful atmosphere doesn't even compare to the food. The food was amazing. Interesting grilled cheese place only fit about 30 people. Two types of bread (sourdough and wheat). I ordered Uncle Tatey, I don't think goat cheese tastes good with warm strawberry. The bread is heavily buttered which makes it really salty but crunchy. You can choose a side between chips or fresh fruit (mix of pear, pineapple, Apple and strawberry) or you can upgrade to soup for $2.
