I started going here when they first opened, coffee was so good but NOW? Well i can tell they do not keep maintenance with their espresso machine. Because the coffee tastes like SOY SAUCE MOTOR OIL. This happens to every new coffee shop in Springfield because they don't train there people. My friend even told me they don't clean the Porto filter between shots and you can tell in the taste of the espresso. I really hope they fix or get better training for their staff using the equipment. It sucks when you want to support a business but things like this happen and make it hard for me to keep coming back because I don't want to waste my money on soy sauce rancid tasting coffee that cost $7! read more

Seeing the crowds at this place, we knew we had to give it a try! We finally stopped in on a weekday for brunch when it wasn't too crowded. We were quickly greeted, ordered at the counter, and found a spot on the nice, covered patio. They call your number for drinks and then deliver your food right to the table. The overhead music was a nice touch and helped distract from some of the road noise on Campbell. The food arrived quickly, looked amazing, and tasted even better! The chilaquiles were absolutely delicious. And after seeing the steak and eggs delivered to the table next to us, we already can't wait to go back and try those, too. Overall it was just ok for me. The coffee was ok and by the time I was given my coffee it was cold, The food was hot and made to order. The chilaquiles had good flavor but the meat have a lot more fat than I would like. There isn't much parking and it does get busy. I had to order to go because there was no room. The potato's had no flavor and the beans were ok. The staff were very nice and I can see why people like this place but the coffee to me was not the best I have had. It tasted liked water down cinnamon. the lack of seasoning on the potato and tough meat over powered the chilaquiles sauce. I have had better food and coffee. I ordered pancakes and coffee. I never got my order after waiting 20-30 minutes. Server told me the order already was delivered and told me that I will have to place another order. But they offered me a discount! Haha! Yea! I already paid for the order that I didn't even get and now I have to pay more to get my food that I never got? Are you serious?!? I try not to leave bad reviews but I could not go past this one. If I could give negative stars, I would. They need better order pick up or delivery system. If you are going to eat here you better wait by the pick up desk like a dog waiting for its treats and get it as soon as it comes out before it gets lost. read more

All of the staff is really nice. One of the staff members got up from her lunch time to help clean a table for an elderly couple. My husband and I went there for brunch. I visited this spot over the weekend and was a little disappointed. I had a very hard time understanding them through the drive through ordering box. I ordered a bad bunny energy drink and a breakfast burrito with hot sauce on the side. Nobody I spoke with was particularly friendly and they did not give me a straw when they gave me my food and drink, but I thought maybe she might have been coming back with it because she didn't say anything, just closed the window. She did not come back, just wasn't in the mood to return my politeness, I guess. Eventually, another person came to the window and gave me a straw when I told them what I was waiting for, but I talked to 3 different people and perhaps they were just rushed that day or something, but every interaction left me feeling confused and going "Oh....Okay...?" The drink was okay, though not very good and I would not order it again. The burrito had ingredients missing, like the cheese, guacamole, and cream sauce. There was plenty of meat, potatoes, and onions, plus a bit of egg, but their menu listed other ingredients (what I listed above). Also, the hot sauce I asked for was not hot sauce but some sort of cream sauce (perhaps the sauce missing from inside the burrito!) This was one of the places I was most looking forward to trying upon moving here, but I was quite disappointed between the not great customer service, food missing ingredients, and drink that was just okay. read more

So happy my friend took me here during my visit to Springfield. From the cute, cozy atmosphere, to the kind staff to the delicious coffee and food, it was quite the highlight of my trip. All of their lattes sounds amazing, so I was happy to hear I could get a flight if four. I went with churro, hotchata, sopapilla cheesecake, and marzipan. It was hard to pick a favorite, as they were all perfection. For my food, I went with the Chichaloco Burrito with the chimichuri sauce. I don't eat meat, so they left out the chorizo and bacon with no problem which I really appreciate. It was spectacular. My cold brew was just the caffeine bump I needed for the drive back from Branson (to STL) and my girlfriend's Cafe De Olla (which I snuck a sip in while she was grabbing silverware) was excellent. This place has good potential in my books. However today at our first visit we waited FOREVER for our food. There were multiple groups who ordered after us and they got all of their food before us. After a while i had to go up to the front to ask what the issue was. But as soon as i did that they called for my name. We waited so long that our baby got frustrated and that's what upset me. Because she was fine at first. So once we got our food we had to speed eat to leave. It was upsetting because the food isn't cheap. My husband and I were in MO for a few days and as I was looking up small coffee shops El Cafecito showed up. We came here at 8am on a Sunday and were the first customers there. The young girl at the front was so sweet and the place itself is awesome. As a woman who currently lives abroad and is born and raised from Miami, but also has Guatemalan ancestry this place was it. I wish I had taken photos of our food, but we woofed it down so quickly - I had the chichaloca burrito and hubs had a big burrito - both delicious! Paired it with an horchata latte (amazing not too sweet) and an apple pie latte (hubs liked it but the caramel was a bit too sweet for him). Before we left, we bought some of their cute clay mugs. Recently moved to Springfield and have had the opportunity to dine here twice now. If I could rate on food quality alone, it would be a definitive 5 stars. I also enjoyed their lattes. Customer service was absolutely abysmal. The manager was overtly berating her own employees as I was looking at the menu. I had ordered two coffee drinks as well as the chia seed pudding- in the process of picking it up from the counter, said manager condescendingly "instructs me" to hold it like so as if I were an invalid.
