Great breakfast! Real nice folks. I love the French toast my wife love the Gravy boat. Add earl gray hot tea for a great morning!

I flew into Springfield after being up since 2:30 AM in California. It was a long travel day, and the first thing I saw was a Starbucks--along with a line of about 30 people. No thanks. I turned to my left and spotted a small local coffee shop, so I walked in, and I'm so glad I did. It was adorable inside, the coffee was delicious, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I wish I could go back again during this trip, but it's just too far from where I'm staying. Still--totally worth the stop if you're in the area! read more

Plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. Order at the counter. Menu on board and printouts. Service is extremely friendly. Everyone! All the food was delicious. Food came out piping hot! So fresh and I know it didn't sit. The burrito was so tasty, not oily at all. I highly recommend. The salsa was good with slight heat. Lots of coffee options too! Can't wait to return. read more

Great coffee and breakfast burritos. Very comfortable environment with super friendly staff. First time here and definitely a repeater for me! read more

ROOTS is one of my top five Springfield places to eat. Just a simple little coffee shop, but with a lot of heart and really great food. They had me at pimento cheese! I love to order the pimento grilled cheese and add an egg and bacon. Top-tier! I recently tried their burger and added pimento cheese and bacon, of course, and it was delicious as well. I can't remember all of the teas and lattes I have tried here, but I can tell you that I've never had a bad one ...they don't make them fancy, but they do make them very tasty! This is a fantastic breakfast sandwich spot that my family really enjoys. I don't even live in Springfield and I consider myself a regular. I have friends that live here that have bought me gift cards and I always use them up! LOL! read more

Wow! The place is huge and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I got a hazelnut latte with oatmilk and an extra shot which is something I get at just about every coffee shop as a baseline. The coffee is smooth and the roast is just dark enough to richen the flavor. I got the got breakfast sandwich with fried chicken and bacon. Probably the best breakfast sandwich I've gotten, seriously. Super friendly staff as well! As someone who travels around the country, this place is a top 5 for me. Highly recommend! read more

First time visiting, biscuit and gravy were excellent. The sausage quiche is delicious. We came in for the croissant. Drool worthy. The manager was very personable, and helped us sign up for their rewards program... because we WILL be back. Maybe for lunch, because the BLTA looks amazing. read more

My daughter walked in with a Charlie Kirk shirt . They were super rude to her and then slammed her order down on counter . She now is afraid to touch it thinking they either spit in the burrito or coffee drink. Great service we will never be back. This happened at 12:45 on Saturday the 27th. I am telling this do you have a talk with your employees. read more

Ordered off Grubhub. I had a bad day and this was so warm and comforting. Buttery croissant, tender scrambled eggs, and bacon (was more like ham). I recommend. I also got a raspberry chocolate latte. It wasn't too sweet and hit the spot. They even have milk alternative read more

Saw reviews so I tried it. Their cinnamon coffee cake was not great as I would have expected from reviews and guy leaning on the register that looked like he just got out of bed was not very impressive. Not sure I would try again. read more

Love love this place!! The workers there are AMAZING PEOPLE! And the place is so cozy and a great places to sit and work for a little!

2 words but technically a compound word: Smashbrowns They're golden, hot and crispy, did I mention they stay hot if you're doing pick up even if you live 15 mins away?! Whoever came up with this, bless. My waist can't say the same but my soul is very satisfied. The staff is always super nice and sound like they're having fun! Thank you guys read more

Went to Roots with family while visiting Springfield. I wanted a good cup of coffee and after scanning the landscape this looked like a local gem. The inside has ample seating and a pretty artistic and clean design. It seems more cafe than true coffee shop that has a good menu and a wine and beer on tap. The coffee and specifically the beans are how I gauge a coffee shop and while I wasn't disappointed I had hoped for more of an artisan pour over experience. The mixed drinks were good in fact better than the coffee and the place seemed like it would be great for a long visit with a friend. read more

Roots is the spot. Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch Excellent coffee - PT's and Onyx Labs Every latte flavor combo mixture you could want Solid menu with plenty of meat and meatless options Kids corner stocked with dinosaurs The staff is awesome! This place is super easy to get to a couple minutes off I-44 and Highway 60 and 65. Worth the stop every time read more

Hard to imagine how Roots is so highly reviewed. My experience was 2star at best. Coffee plain Starbucks much better across the street. Breakfast food small portions....tiny amount of pulled pork. I should have taken a picture. Way undercooked eggs with clear whites. $14 with tax and tip? Biscuit was good but tiny. Can't keep up with the "endless drip coffee" at a coffee place.....long waits for the next jug. I think they're trying but they are failing. Won't be coming back says it all. read more

The smash browns with sausage was mega good. My friend also said the biscuits and gravy were a 10/10. Paper straws in the lattes but it's forgivable because the sandwich was soo good. The hash browns were perfectly crispy and the egg wasn't soggy at all. read more

Nice service, friendly atmosphere and interesting menu. Seems to be a good hangout to meet friends, have good coffees. My first time here, will come back again. Only complaint is that it was cold inside. The brisket was quite good although on the tough side. Perfect sweet potato fries. All good. read more

Relaxed and fun atmosphere. You can buy the kitchen staff a shot for $2 but we showed mercy and didn't do that to them at 10am on a Sunday Good selection of cocktails, coffees and breakfast foods. We got the mini donuts with cookie butter, breakfast burrito with pulled pork, a honey latte and a vanilla latte. The burrito was bigger than expected and I'm glad we only got one to share since neither me or my fiancé were overly hungry. Everything we tried was very good and the service was quick! I would give it a solid 3 stars. Great coffee, staff was very pleasant and friendly, establishment was clean, food was okay, music selection for 8am was too upbeat for me. I would've liked more of a relaxed atmosphere with softer music, if any at all, before I've had my morning coffee. I'm not really a tot person for breakfast and that was the choice for potatoes other than sweet potatoes. Biscuit was dry, you would have to use either gravy, jelly or lots of butter to get it to a non dry state. read more
