Early Bird Breakfast Pub - Florentine Benedict with sweet potato tots! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The ambiance was not good. Had to walk through smashed food on the floor to our booth. Music was extremely loud but thankfully they turned it down upon request. The couple in the booth next to us left before ordering due to a roach. Our hash browns were burnt but yet cold. And the rest of the food had no flavor as well as the fruit. The floors were dirty, flies, roach, cold food, just not a good overall experience. It used to be a nice place so it was sad to see how it has gone down hill. Oh yea, walked through smashed food on floor on way out as well. read more

The Early Bird pub is a night shift worker's dream. I know many night shifters who work a variety of jobs that frequent this place at the end of shift. It's close to Mercy hospital, and not far from Cox South. It offers wide variety of food choices, as well as adult beverages. This is a place you can enjoy with your friends after a long night or bring your family for a quick bite. You can expect this place to be busy, but that doesn't stop the staff from taking great care of their guests. read more

Arrived at 9:40 AM on a Sunday. Was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Wait to be seated was over an hour. Food didn't arrive until close to noon. Ordered a Northside scrambled platter. Hamburger was undercooked. I was refunded partially so essentially I was charged 7$ for overcooked hashbrowns and toast. My friend ordered breakfast tacos and her queso was cold. Very disappointing. read more

Recommended by a local. We got there a little later in the morning. Therefore, we had a 30-40 min wait. No problem! Grab a pitcher of Mimosas and stand outside to enjoy the great day. Our waitress was great and responsive. We got the Breakfast Sandwich, Eggs and Chorizo and Uncle Cheese. The garlic parmesan sour dough bread really set off the Uncle Chesse. I will say if you are a cheese freak like me, ask for extra cheese. Both sandwiches were delicious. The Chorizo had good spice and not too greasy. I definitely recommend Early Bird style on anything. The sweet potato nuggets were really sweet and crispy... very good. There are lots of options on the menu and everything looked intriguing. I would recommend giving it a try. read more

Great menu options! We got our items to-go. They were made on time and fresh. The food was fantastic. We got the meat omlet, French toast, and crackleberries. All were really good! The interior can seat a lot of people and there is a bar. Plenty of parking. We would definitely go back next time in town. read more

Food was REALLY GOOD unique dishes and alcoholic drink choices. It's a low lit restaurant with a full bar. Pop music playing very low not loud, good atmosphere Kid friendly I would say, prices are high but worth it for the experience and flavor read more

Quaint little place for breakfast, and the servings are huge. A bit loud and always busy, but worth it.

The food was great here. We tried "the Nest" entrees which were interesting and the were prepared to accommodate preferences. Our service was excellent too. Ambiance a little on the unique side. read more

The vibes of this place are pretty cool (good music, old school cartoons on, good lighting, etc). However, this place is very disorganized and isn't run efficiently at all. We went at a pretty busy time and the wait was 30 minutes which is fine. What wasn't fine was the fact that parties with the same number of people who got there after us were seated first. It also took forever to get drinks and food going. The food was pretty bland with little to no seasoning on it and the biscuits were rock hard/burnt on the bottom. If you do choose to go to this place I recommend getting the french toast and the 3 meat omelette. These 2 options were pretty good! But ultimately I think for the price and time spent (over 2 hours counting wait time and time to get food) you could definitely go somewhere else and get a better experience/ better quality food. read more

Great service. Mediocre food. Ordered a side of hash browns and a side of biscuits & gravy. Not as good as they used to be...biscuits were dry and flavorless and the gravy was extremely bland. Perhaps they had the "B" team this morning and have the "A" team on the weekends??? read more

Food is really good here, especially for the price! All the food pictured was GREAT. My friends really like their Bloody Mary and the Morning mover hit the spot. Service was a little rough since the restaurant was busy. Our tickets were wrong, which was fixed after asking. Also, we asked for a game on the tv by us and they said somebody stole the remote ‍ read more

I have been going here off and on for years since the food is really good! However, in recent years I have been going less and less because the wait times are extreme. My fiancé and I's breaking point was today: after waiting 30+ minutes for a table, we waited over 60 minutes for our food after being seated and ended up leaving because we couldn't keep waiting any longer. We were told that the kitchen was behind, which is totally understandable because it was a holiday weekend. We couldn't help but notice though that tables with smaller parties were getting prioritized less than larger ones regardless of who got there first, as larger parties were getting seated faster and getting their food much quicker than our party of two. We noticed several other smaller parties leaving early just like us because they never got their food. This rubbed me the wrong way; I will not be back. read more

This is a unique breakfast place just off Subshine at the end of a steep mall. The atmosphere is happy & clean. This is not your normal breakfast makings. They put a twist & zing to each meal. What a fun place! I was actually on town working, so I had my laptop with me, I was offered alcohol from the get, but she immediately recognized I was probably working. My server helped me with the order to get a delightful spicy omelet with lots of protein. Trying to eat low carb was hard here when all you can smell are tots. I ate them and I loved them. The vibe was the best part. I felt like I was hanging out in a pub, but it was 7 am and there were plenty of people around. Definitely a comeback when I'm in town next! read more

During my short visit to Springfield I wanted to try a new breakfast place so I decided on Early Bird Breakfast. Seating was not a problem and the crowd was there that morning. Very respectful staff and works quickly to serve you. The portions are very large and I admit I could not finish all of mine as that is unusual for me. The menu is a decent size so I'll definitely be coming back to try something different next time. I do recommend this business if you're in the area and want some good breakfast food. Definitely one of the better places in town. The staff is great and work incredibly hard to keep things moving fast. Only downside is customers take long to depart. They are mot aware that folks are trying to eat as well. This is not the fault of the staff, albeit they too recognize and apologize for their patrons behavior. read more

Definitely eat here!!! From the prompt & friendly staff, to the genius business model, to the delicious menu options - great place to eat!! This place is very different from other breakfast joint. More retro and rock, a little dimmer but really chillax. Everyone is very nice here and very attentive. The menu was a bit confusing, but I did figure out what I want so wasn't bad. The food didn't take long to come out, all was very hot. My country fried steak tastes amazing, very crunchy and juicy which was great. We also got eggs benedict, that's was super good. Creamy milk egg, made to perfect the ham and bread. My daughter have a breakfast club with french toast bread and she love it a lot. My other daughter got 2 pancakes, let's say it was big and fluffy and crispy around the edge. The portion we was huge and we manage to finish 90%. It was really amazing. Love to try local restaurant, and this place was recommended by my client. Awesome food, vibes and people. Will come back and try their robin eggs and many more. read more

Did a quick reasearch on best breakfast restaurant in the area and Early Bird Breakfast pub was in the top 5 that popped up. It's a hidden gem and a great spot to enjoy an amazing meal. The menu offers a lot of vegetarian options, which made choosing one really hard. The servings were all extremely generous and everything was delicious and flavorful! I saw the pictures online and had to try one of their Bird's nest, a series of ingredients served on a puff pastry shell. I ordered a Cardinal Bird's Nest. It came with two eggs (I ordered them over easy), red pepper , red onion, spinach, Parmesan, and a choice of hash browns or sweet potato nuggets, I went with the sweet potato nuggs. It was amazing!! I ordered a pineapple mimosa to enjoy my brunch, the pour was very generous. Their service was fast and the staff extremely friendly. The location is very spacious and has a ton of parking space. Overall an absolutely fantastic experience! read more

It's basically a dive bar (sticky floor and all) with breakfast. Maybe closer to 3.5 stars than 4. The drinks were great and the food was pretty good, too. Service was friendly but a bit slow for us-as others who arrived after we did got their food before us. I got the biscuits and gravy with sweet potato nuggets and bacon. The gravy needed more sausage and flavor for me but everything else was really good. My husband ordered the scramble with spam. He ordered hash browns and fruit with it. He reported it to be tasty. read more

In town to hit the local wildlife exhibit and wanted a good rib sticking breakfast. Yelp suggested this place so our party of 5 followed the suggestion. It was easy to find, plenty of parking and despite being breakfast rush, plenty of open tables! I opted for the french toast breakfast sandwich. Absolutely fantastic! Egg was fried, the sausage was well seasoned, and the thick toast was battered and spiced nicely! The potatoes were golden, firm on the outside and quite moist. The others of our party had many different items and loved them all! Serviced was pretty good and the price was reasonable. Next time I'm in town, will be back! read more

Atmosphere was good but food just OK and pricey. The Reuben had an odd taste ... not like corned beef.

Love this local breakfast joint (aka PUB). Sean, one of the owners, is super cool, chill, and helpful. The EBBP has a full bar for any of your brunch desires. You can also eat the full food menu at the bar if you desire. The menu is full-on...from waffles to pancakes, egg dishes to biscuits and gravy, oatmeal to fruit bowls. All will be accommodated. If you read my reviews, biscuits and gravy are my JAM. I have had B&G here many times and it has been the perfect southern dish. This last time however, it seemed to be watery and perhaps made from a mix. I WILL definitely try it again the next time I visit SGF - not a reason to not dine at the EBBP! Also - the hash browns are TDF! Please support this local gem! read more

We were in town for an event and came here on a whim. I'm so glad we did! The wait wasn't too bad, 15-20 min, which for Sat brunch on a busy weekend is good! I judge the quality of a breakfast restaurant on 3 things: their eggs, their gravy and their hash browns. The gravy was some of the best I've had, in that it was more of a traditional pepper gravy, which I prefer. But the eggs...perfection! You could taste the richness of the egg, but the cheese still came through. They weren't too dry and not watery either. The hashbrowns were not as crispy as I'd have liked, but to be fair they were busy supporting an amazing helping of bacon, sausage and ham and eggs from the Gravy Train. The sweet potato nugs were fire, especially dipped in the gravy (try it!). My husband got the Waffles with peanut butter-- sinfully good. Overall we highly recommend this place and hope to come back if we find ourselves in Springfield again! read more

Food is unique and very good Can't get good service EVER. Have to fight for a cup of coffee. Waiters disappear to never be seen No small talk. Can't ask for an extra napkin or anything. We have been going here for as long as they have been open. Same problems every time. Then we wait and go back after a few months. Then it is a lousy experience and we wait another 6 months....... Oh. And it seems to always be way too cold. Hope for better experience in 6 months. Could be a great place read more

I really wanted to like this place and my nephew did enjoy his entree but from start to finish I was disappointed. Our server was nice but was the type that can walk right by you and never make eye contact. First cups of coffee were cold and when I waved her down to let her know "the coffee is cold" she only took my cup. When she returned with my coffee, my nephew said that his was cold too. I'm not sure how she thought that I had cold coffee and he had hot coffee. The next coffee she brought was lukewarm but since we could not get her attention we just kept it. $3 for each cup of coffee and we barely drank half a cup. He had breakfast tacos with bacon and he did say that he enjoyed them. Everyone raves in the reviews about the sweet potato nuggs. I'm guessing they have never had a frozen sweet potato tater tot from the grocery store. I got the pancakes which were very dry and delivered to the table with no butter. Again, I had to find my server to get butter which included going to the computer where she had been standing for quite some time. The link sausage was terribly greasy. They weren't swamped so that cannot be the reason for the server issues. Not everyone is cut out to serve. My nephew and I both discussed that the music was extremely loud and we couldn't really talk much because of it. I realize it's a pub, but we should be able to carry on a conversation since we were eating in a booth. On a positive note, the bartender was super nice as we entered and left. read more

Driving through Springfield and exuded to try the pub! We got our food Togo! Their menu grabbed us and there was no turning back! First and foremost the service is amazing! They are friendly, accommodating and aim to please! They ran out of the lox for my daughters order and immediately came out and offered anything she wanted on the menu, as we already had paid. I have never been offered this up-leveled customer service. Bravo! All she wanted was a burger to begin with and they made it happen! Now for the food critique...had the Bible BEST. It was alright, tricky sandwich to go. By the time I got to eat it, bread was soft, lettuce wilted, and the egg was over cooked. ‍ tricky sandwich to get togo! my son got the chicken in waffle! Holy Amazingness! He scored and I was jealous! It was delicious!!!! Get this sandwich!!! My daughters burger was delicious she usually eats like a bird and almost ate it all! It to mention the waffle fries are legit! All in all...this Mom is happy! Check this pub out! It will not disappoint!!! read more

The food is okay, the service is great. It is noisy, and the music they play, some type of "slow rap" I guess you could call it, is horrific and super annoying. I've been here once before, and I'm not coming back. read more

I hate writing negative reviews but our experience was bad. First, we arrived and were quoted a 20 minute wait time but didn't receive a table for close to an hour. Once we were seated, the server took about 20 minutes to take our order and the food preparation another 40 minutes at least. I understand that being understaffed happens, but this ended up being a 2 hour endeavor, not in a relaxing way! There was a tiny space to wait for our table, not to mention the building was outdated, single bathroom and not a great ambiance. The music was fun at first but when we sat down to eat it was too loud. I felt like I was in a night club. The food - my husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak. Was it worth $15 though? We'd rather go to a local diner. My meal wasn't great. The biscuit was dry, the puff pastry like paper and overall lacking in flavor. The only thing I could really taste was an over abundance of canned jalepenos. The Bloody Mary was good at least! Not sure what happened to this place, I went years back and had a much better experience. read more

Probably my favorite place to grab brunch while watching a game. Plus, there is generally always a line - but the bar is first come first serve. And if you are waiting, just go next to dancing mule for some solid espresso and breakfast mini biscuit/scone. Things to Note: 1) Two kind of Mimosas (one has vodka if you are going for that kind of a day) 2) Solid Bloody Marys 3) Lots of Puff Pastry Options 4) Perfected Poached Eggs 5) Hollandaise Sauce broke for me, but I asked for it on the side so it might be my fault. 6) Slow service but they are busy 7) Very dark lighting 8) Large Patio 9) Top things to order are Eggs Florentine with Spinach/Tomatoes/Poached eggs, Bird's Nest Robin wit puff Pastry, Poached Eggs, and Broccoli, and homemade granola 10) Not exactly diner breakfast food but there are some "healthier options" Solid place to grab brunch for 1, 2, or a large group but expect a wait. read more
