Recommended by a local. We got there a little later in the morning. Therefore, we had a 30-40 min wait. No problem! Grab a pitcher of Mimosas and stand outside to enjoy the great day. Our waitress was great and responsive. We got the Breakfast Sandwich, Eggs and Chorizo and Uncle Cheese. The garlic parmesan sour dough bread really set off the Uncle Chesse. I will say if you are a cheese freak like me, ask for extra cheese. Both sandwiches were delicious. The Chorizo had good spice and not too greasy. I definitely recommend Early Bird style on anything. Great menu options! We got our items to-go. They were made on time and fresh. The food was fantastic. We got the meat omlet, French toast, and crackleberries. All were really good! The vibes of this place are pretty cool (good music, old school cartoons on, good lighting, etc). However, this place is very disorganized and isn't run efficiently at all. We went at a pretty busy time and the wait was 30 minutes which is fine. What wasn't fine was the fact that parties with the same number of people who got there after us were seated first. It also took forever to get drinks and food going. The food was pretty bland with little to no seasoning on it and the biscuits were rock hard/burnt on the bottom. If you do choose to go to this place I recommend getting the french toast and the 3 meat omelette. These 2 options were pretty good! But ultimately I think for the price and time spent (over 2 hours counting wait time and time to get food) you could definitely go somewhere else and get a better experience/ better quality food. read more

My fiancé and I's breaking point was today: after waiting 30+ minutes for a table, we waited over 60 minutes for our food after being seated and ended up leaving because we couldn't keep waiting any longer. We were told that the kitchen was behind, which is totally understandable because it was a holiday weekend. We couldn't help but notice though that tables with smaller parties were getting prioritized less than larger ones regardless of who got there first, as larger parties were getting seated faster and getting their food much quicker than our party of two. This is a unique breakfast place just off Subshine at the end of a steep mall. The atmosphere is happy & clean. This is not your normal breakfast makings. They put a twist & zing to each meal. Definitely one of the better places in town. The staff is great and work incredibly hard to keep things moving fast. Only downside is customers take long to depart. What a fun place! I was actually on town working, so I had my laptop with me, I was offered alcohol from the get, but she immediately recognized I was probably working. My server helped me with the order to get a delightful spicy omelet with lots of protein. Trying to eat low carb was hard here when all you can smell are tots. I ate them and I loved them. Did a quick reasearch on best breakfast restaurant in the area and Early Bird Breakfast pub was in the top 5 that popped up. It's a hidden gem and a great spot to enjoy an amazing meal. The menu offers a lot of vegetarian options, which made choosing one really hard. The servings were all extremely generous and everything was delicious and flavorful! I saw the pictures online and had to try one of their Bird's nest, a series of ingredients served on a puff pastry shell. I ordered a Cardinal Bird's Nest. It came with two eggs (I ordered them over easy), red pepper , red onion, spinach, Parmesan, and a choice of hash browns or sweet potato nuggets, I went with the sweet potato nuggs. It was amazing!! I ordered a pineapple mimosa to enjoy my brunch, the pour was very generous. Their service was fast and the staff extremely friendly. The location is very spacious and has a ton of parking space. This place is very different from other breakfast joint. More retro and rock, a little dimmer but really chillax. Everyone is very nice here and very attentive. The menu was a bit confusing, but I did figure out what I want so wasn't bad. The food didn't take long to come out, all was very hot. My country fried steak tastes amazing, very crunchy and juicy which was great. We also got eggs benedict, that's was super good. Creamy milk egg, made to perfect the ham and bread. My daughter have a breakfast club with french toast bread and she love it a lot. My other daughter got 2 pancakes, let's say it was big and fluffy and crispy around the edge. During my short visit to Springfield I wanted to try a new breakfast place so I decided on Early Bird Breakfast. Seating was not a problem and the crowd was there that morning. Very respectful staff and works quickly to serve you. The portions are very large and I admit I could not finish all of mine as that is unusual for me. The menu is a decent size so I'll definitely be coming back to try something different next time. I do recommend this business if you're in the area and want some good breakfast food. In town to hit the local wildlife exhibit and wanted a good rib sticking breakfast. Yelp suggested this place so our party of 5 followed the suggestion. It was easy to find, plenty of parking and despite being breakfast rush, plenty of open tables! I opted for the french toast breakfast sandwich. Absolutely fantastic! Egg was fried, the sausage was well seasoned, and the thick toast was battered and spiced nicely! The potatoes were golden, firm on the outside and quite moist. We were in town for an event and came here on a whim. I'm so glad we did! The wait wasn't too bad, 15-20 min, which for Sat brunch on a busy weekend is good! I judge the quality of a breakfast restaurant on 3 things: their eggs, their gravy and their hash browns. The gravy was some of the best I've had, in that it was more of a traditional pepper gravy, which I prefer. But the eggs...perfection! You could taste the richness of the egg, but the cheese still came through. They weren't too dry and not watery either. The hashbrowns were not as crispy as I'd have liked, but to be fair they were busy supporting an amazing helping of bacon, sausage and ham and eggs from the Gravy Train. The sweet potato nugs were fire, especially dipped in the gravy (try it!). My husband got the Waffles with peanut butter-- sinfully good. Love this local breakfast joint (aka PUB). Sean, one of the owners, is super cool, chill, and helpful. The EBBP has a full bar for any of your brunch desires. You can also eat the full food menu at the bar if you desire. The menu is full-on...from waffles to pancakes, egg dishes to biscuits and gravy, oatmeal to fruit bowls. All will be accommodated. If you read my reviews, biscuits and gravy are my JAM. I have had B&G here many times and it has been the perfect southern dish. I hate writing negative reviews but our experience was bad. First, we arrived and were quoted a 20 minute wait time but didn't receive a table for close to an hour. Once we were seated, the server took about 20 minutes to take our order and the food preparation another 40 minutes at least. I understand that being understaffed happens, but this ended up being a 2 hour endeavor, not in a relaxing way! There was a tiny space to wait for our table, not to mention the building was outdated, single bathroom and not a great ambiance. The music was fun at first but when we sat down to eat it was too loud. I felt like I was in a night club. The food - my husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak. Was it worth $15 though? We'd rather go to a local diner. My meal wasn't great. The biscuit was dry, the puff pastry like paper and overall lacking in flavor. The only thing I could really taste was an over abundance of canned jalepenos. The Bloody Mary was good at least! I really wanted to like this place and my nephew did enjoy his entree but from start to finish I was disappointed. Our server was nice but was the type that can walk right by you and never make eye contact. First cups of coffee were cold and when I waved her down to let her know "the coffee is cold" she only took my cup. When she returned with my coffee, my nephew said that his was cold too. I'm not sure how she thought that I had cold coffee and he had hot coffee. The next coffee she brought was lukewarm but since we could not get her attention we just kept it. $3 for each cup of coffee and we barely drank half a cup. He had breakfast tacos with bacon and he did say that he enjoyed them. Everyone raves in the reviews about the sweet potato nuggs. I'm guessing they have never had a frozen sweet potato tater tot from the grocery store. I got the pancakes which were very dry and delivered to the table with no butter. Again, I had to find my server to get butter which included going to the computer where she had been standing for quite some time. The link sausage was terribly greasy. They weren't swamped so that cannot be the reason for the server issues. Not everyone is cut out to serve. My nephew and I both discussed that the music was extremely loud and we couldn't really talk much because of it. I can't speak for the food because we never got a chance to eat it. We got there, 3 adults and 3 little ones. We expected to wait, quoted 30-45mins. It was over an hour, watched three tables open up that would seat us that no one would clean. The hostess told us they were just waiting for a table that would fit us. I told him when we checked in that the littles could sit with us on our laps if needed. The three unclean tables would have more than fit us. Waited about an hour and half total before the littles got so restless and we got so hungry that we called it quits and went somewhere else that sat and served us right away. I get that everywhere is short handed right now... and we were as patient as we could possibly be. That was beyond ridiculous, however. Asked if biscuits were made in-house and was told that they were bought in frozen, for a breakfast restaurant seems a bit lazy. I was warned by server that my meal contained animal meat and was not vegan. I gathered that by the bacon, sausage and ham in the scramble. My meal was just ok, hash brown was nice, unseasoned by I fixed that. White gravy smothering my scramble was gross, tasted like wallpaper paste. Scrapped it off my meal only to be uninspired by what was underneath, overcooked eggs & bacon. My partners meal left him underwhelmed too, signature puff pastry was most likely also frozen and squished flat by yet again the overcooked eggs, overcooked bacon, pico de gallo? Really just very large chopped onions. So many canned jalapeños. Fruit was nice.
