If you're on the hunt for the best Scotch eggs around, this place is an absolute must. We unexpectedly went on a scotch egg tour this week. I will not drag the competition, but Dublin's Pass was the clear winner. I won't use specifics, but you get so much more bang for your buck, purely from a financial aspect. Let me first say, the eggs arrive on a plate with a light breading that adds the perfect balance of crunch yet balanced with the soft egg. All brought to you with a mustard that is the perfect combination of pickled veg and punchy mustard. The meat was cooked perfectly. The combination between the meat, egg and mustard marry one another beautifully to lend to a flavor roller coaster in your mouth. What really sets these Scotch eggs apart is the attention to detail. They taste like they are meant for a flavor rollercoaster. Each element feels intentional. Whether you're a longtime Scotch egg lover or trying one for the first time, this restaurant sets the bar high. Simply put: these are the Scotch eggs other places should be aspiring. Eggs aside, we also had an order of the boneless wings. Not a hard thing to get right, but we had roasted garlic parmesan with garlic aioli, to die for. As soon as I walked into Dublin Irish Pass, I felt comfortable. The outside is modern, but the inside felt like a nice, cozy Irish pub perfect for watching sports (there are TVs everywhere) and, in my case, comfort food! Right off the bat, I was greeted by very friendly staff who were keeping busy during the slow opening hour by watering plants or restocking the bar. I decided to head to the bar backed by the very friendly Karlie. Started off with the Scottish eggs, and they came out piping hot and fresh with a side of spicy mustard. The combination of savory sausage flavor, sweetness of the deviled egg, and a dab of spicy mustard made these starters absolutely worth the choice but could almost be a meal itself! Going further along with the Irish setting, I also went with the original cottage pie, loaded of course, and hands down it's the best pie I've had. The beef, gravy, vegetables, and potatoes added with the garlic mashed potatoes and pie crust was absolute bliss. Again, piping hot from the oven with that perfect mix of soft and crunch from the crust was perfection comfort food. Paired with a Guinness, this is as close to heaven as one can get during work's hour lunch break. The bar area started filling up with the lunch crowd towards the end, but Karlie expertly managed all of it with ease, remaining attentive to the gathering crowd while multitasking between taking food orders and serving as well as bartending. This masterful combination of service, atmosphere, and great food is hard to find around Springfield, but Dublin Pass nailed it while making it look easy, making them a highly suggested stop. read more

Stopped in around 1:30PM on a Thursday en route to the annual float trip and was pleasantly surprised by this place. Parking out front was plentiful enough, though I could see needing to invade the parking lot next door if they were really busy. The restaurant itself was a bit low on the lighting, but that's what an Irish pub should be. We started with the Fried Peter Piper's fried pickles, which were pretty good. The wife and I split the shrimp and fried shrimp platter, which was easily a meal for 2 people to be sure. While the shrimp and fries were good, the fried fish was out of this world. It was, by far, the best fried fish I've ever eaten in my life; not close. It was crispy, but also melt in your mouth, and was accompanied by an elite dill tartar sauce concoction. When paired with a Guinness, it was a little slice of heaven. Now, with that being said...if I were to rate the authenticity of this being Irish food, I'd have to say it's there's a bit of creative embellishment and mild approximation happening. But it was still really good and that's all that matters. While the place wasn't busy, the service was top notch the entire time. Cups never ran empty and the food came out piping hot. I'd have to give this a solid recommendation if you're passing through the Springfield area if you're in the mood for top notch fish and chips. read more

The restaurant itself was modern and spacious. Service was excellent, we were seated and helped right away. We started with an order of the Reuben rolls and cheese curds. The Reuben rolls were so delicious, I will be craving those again for sure. We went with a large group and everyone's food looked delicious when it came out. I had the whaler fish sandwich and my husband had the brisket Reuben sandwich. Both were good but out of the two, the Reuben was definitely better. Their menu is so expansive and everything looked so good, I will definitely be back to try more of their menu. read more

First, drive thru doesn't work.. someone is just sitting at the window but not the entire time, I waited for a while, someone finally walked by, I said excuse me super nicely, she gave me the rudest look ever. Gracie was our server. She was very friendly and helped us choose just the right dish based on our likes. She did an excellent job next time we come back we hope to get her again! Very laid-back restaurant with a variety of sports being played on overhead TVs. Definitely not too loud to have a good conversation at your booth or table. I ordered the cottage pie. Thick, rich, and definitely savory. The bowl was filled to the rim and topped with melted Gouda cheese then a flaky pie crust. Nothing short of excellent! Served with two thick halves of garlic toast. My husband ordered the scratch pie, which is the homemade chicken pot pie. He loved it! He said it's very creamy with chunks of chicken and veggies Al beneath the homemade flaky crust. You have to try it! read more

Went late on a Friday, and first of all I appreciate they still serve food late for those of us who work late and like to eat somewhere besides Taco Bell or McDonald's. Had a few appetizers which they have a great happy hour special late night for, the fries are just the best in town I'd say, and the Mac n cheese is delicious! Carley was my server and bartender, and what interested me in coming to this restaurant was the scotch eggs that I saw photographed on the yelp page and they are fantastic. I ordered what I believe was called "the original"which was like a shepherds pie with steak and it was also delicious. I enjoyed the scotch eggs so much. I got an order to go for later. In addition to the food, the drinks were really really good and I had a Guinness with some blackberry lacquer, which was absolutely delicious with a nice frothy cap. read more

My husband and I love a good Irish dive bar and we were so excited to try this one based on the reviews, but we had a different experience from others apparently. Our bartender/server was very nice, but the food is really bad. We ordered the scotch eggs, chicken nachos (how do you mess up nachos??), and very fishy fish and chips. The staff was so friendly when we walked it!! Our waitress was Sydney and she was awesome, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and very patient with us while we looked and decided what we wanted to order, it was our first time visiting. We were visiting from AZ, arrived 15 minutes before closing and the staff could not have been more welcoming. They assured us that the full menu was available and to take our time and absolutely no rush! We ordered the Rueben sandwich and a side of mashed potatoes with Guinness gravy and it was delicious. I'm afraid D'sP has such few reviews because no neighborhood regular wants their secret to get out, creating an invasion of Springfield's answer to "Cheers". Pub is a pretty apt description: Unique foods & appies; all type of alcoholic beverages; ample seating; a recently renovated outdoor seating in front so you can wave at your buddies & "buddettes" as they enter the rich, well-appointed yet warmly casual environment. Oh...and did I mention the plethora of large TV's on the walls for optimal viewing of any sport from any angle? It's a fantastic bar/restaurant/sports bar (without the paraphernalia)...yeah, I guess "pub" is pretty apt. The service is spectacularly friendly & efficient. largely due to the manager, Stefan, who greets his patrons as well as maintains an eye toward detail of both food, beverage & environment. He also splits time with the Dublin's downtown. It's the nicest, hardworking crew I've seen in any similar public-facing establishment.
