Heard some say this place was good...well, absolutely this place is great. Now, two small tables inside and one outside...so, more designed to be to-go. But let me say, this place has some great sandwiches and fries. - The Spicy: this cheesesteak derivative sandwich....what flavor to this sandwich. It wasn't spicy hot as much as just full flavored goodness. It had grilled jalapeños and grilled pepperchinis. Those being grilled gave it a whole 'nother taste....that tasted great. - The fries: you get a whole bag full of them. Garlic, salt pepper...fresh cut fries....top notch tasting fries!!! Here's a crazy little fun thing with the place: on the wall, to the left of where you order. There's a little house front on the wall....the door opens up. Behind the door is a secret tiny menu. Different items than what is on the big boards hanging on the wall. I didn't know this detail before I ordered. But now I do....lol! read more

This little gem has so many 5-star reviews. I was trying to think of a reason to give only 4, but couldn't come up with any. I had the Friday special, The Highwood and Fry. It was excellent, and enough fries for 2 people. In fact, my wife and I could've split the sandwich and fries and it would have been plenty. AND the daily special INCLUDES the fries for $9.49. The sandwich is regularly $12.49 and the fries are an additional $1.77. This place understands good food at a reasonable price! I hope to come back. read more

Burger review Ok Boomer 9.7/10 -It's called the OK boomer, but it's an Oklahoma Smashburger. So it's two thin smashed patties with super thin shaved onions smashed directly into the patty, and I think they just put a whole pile of them on top, which I absolutely loved. I mean, this is truly a well-crafted burger and definitely on my list of new fave burgers. Also, my pics aren't the best, but when I tell y'all don't let them fool ya, this was a banger of a burger. First of all, the sandwiches are illegal levels of good. The kind of good where you take a bite and immediately start re-evaluating past meals. The balance of flavors? Whoever built these sandwiches definitely understands physics. By the time I was halfway through, I was already planning my next visit. By the time I finished, I was considering moving closer so this could become a personality trait. Found on Yelp, when looking for open restaurants after late arriving flight. It's a place where you pick up your order. I like places like this, small local businesses with their own character. Ordered Philly Cheesesteak and a Cheeseburger, both with "homemade fries". The Philly Cheesesteak was good, i didn't try the burger, but my daughter said it was good. The French Fries however were absolutely awful. They were cooked in old oil and burnt, bitter in taste and soft. The amount was impressive, but it was a complete waste of product. Being in the restaurant business myself I was surprised that they give food in such shape to a customer. Maybe that's their regular cooked fries, but for me that was not acceptable. If I didn't order the fries, i would give them the five stars. read more

I've had the cheesesteaks here before, but for the first time tonight, I decided to get a burger, and I'm glad I did. (Apparently, they also have wings, too!) I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. The burger was massive, delicious, and loaded with toppings. The fries were well seasoned and also fresh and delicious. Super great hole-in-the-wall place, with two small tables inside and one small table outside. I love that it's a great locally owned place. my husband and i LOVE this place. it's such a good local and small business to support. they have great sandwiches, burgers, fries, and chicken tenders. my favorites are the burgers and the SPICY PHILLY SANDWICH!!! the fries are also very good with ranch, but you do have to add them on extra. sandwiches do not come with fries. they have week day specials and it's a different sandwich each day of the week with fries for a very good price. they also have seasonal specials with the same kind of deals. i recommend calling this place in, or placing an order online and going to pick it up. the physical business is very small and easy to miss. there is not space to eat inside, so you will have to take it home or somewhere else. that's why calling in is nice, so it's ready when you get there! the works are always very nice and helpful! always a 10/10 for me!! read more

This is legit a hidden gem of Springfield. DELICIOUS food. I wish I frequented downtown more often to get one of these delicious sandwiches.

One of my favorite downtown lunch spots. The building is actually built into an alley, it's super tiny but so worth it. The two things I've tried is the bacon double cheeseburger and the turkey deli sandwich are both Delicious. However, the fries are the star of the show, home cut fries, cooked fresh, Amazing!!! It's criminal that they did away with the jump man logo holding a sub. But lo and behold years after college this place still puts together what has to be the best cheesesteak in town. The food tasted good. It was well seasoned and the fries were nice. I will say that the fries were not the best seasoned and a little bland but they go well when you have something that is already packed with flavor. Do not get the wings as their portion sizes are about the size of my pinky finger with at least 1.5 to 2 bones in it. I would HIGHLY suggest you get a sandwich from this place. They are good and serving portions are big. There are fried mushrooms which taste good and the onion rings are decent. They are not a wings place, they are a sandwich place. If you complain about the prices it is understandable however take into account that they are a hole in the wall place and need to compete or make equal and some profit to compete with restaurants around them like Picklemen's or surrounding bigger places. I really liked it and the staff were excellent. I do not eat meat much, once in a blue moon and I did not know what to get. The man at the counter suggested to me and when I was unsure we flipped a coin. Joyful group and work really hard. Please give it a go and support their local business.
