We always come in as a big group adults and children, they are always very accommodating, patient, and kind. Plus the food is really good!!

We usually go to the one on Glenstone, but decided to stop here instead. They are brothers, and although there are similarities; I think this location is better.. Don't got me wrong both are absolutely fantastic! The ingredients are very similar "both places extremely fresh!" But this location the owner bakes his own bread, and it also seems a bit bigger, and fluffier. Also there is a sitting area inside and they take cards. The other location only provides a couple tables outside and they only take cash. I guess the only down side of this location is finding parking can be a bit of a challenge. Couldn't love this place more, this has been always will be a staple in my mind to downtown, the friendliest service I think you'll ever see those guys remember my name and I think I told him one time about five years ago, my kids love this place Great selection, good variety, hot or cold sandwiches to go or dine in solid combination of voodoo chips, and the bathrooms are the cleanest I think I've been in for business that size that's open to the pubic. Great food, simple and easy, cash only, great attitudes! If you're in the area definitely worth the stop

There's two things the most genuine of Springfield haunts really love: wonky, werewolf-like hours and being cash-only. For the most part, though, I've accepted this as a way of life 'round these here humble parts. The Sub Shop operates on these small-town standards, so come prepared. Still, you're in for a truly quality sub sammy experience. The Sub Shop is like the Subway that could have once been, maybe (probably not, but I needed a comparison point); but instead of surly juggalos as your sandwich artists, you've got uber-friendly college-age kids. Instead of slightly ill-looking veggies, you've got rocking produce. Instead of sad, strangely reflective meat, you've got the good stuff. Long story short, this business means business, as long as it's between 10 and 2:30 on weekdays. After hmm-ing and hahh-ing over the very brief menu, I selected the Italian sub on wheat, which featured pastrami, salami, cheese, peppers, lettuce, and sub sauce (Italian dressing). Even though I scooped off he banana peppers and excess dressing like the picky jerk that I am, I still liked it and appreciated the intense flavor of the meat and dressing. However, I kicked myself for not getting the meatball sub (it was on special). But $7.25 for an awesome sammy, chips and a soda isn't bad at all. The location I went to downtown was very bright and spotless, also, which was merely a small bonus after the overall great experience I had. And it was crazy busy. And it was faster than like, Taco Bell even. Why not five stars? I think I need to try something else to get me addicted and make me want to REALLY come back for more, but it's only a matter of time. read more

Loved my Reuben sandwich and I loved the price. I'm sad I didn't know about this place sooner.

I go to school across the street from this restaurant. It is literally the best sandwich in Springfield and I say that without any doubt. I am very lucky to have the ability to eat there almost every day, 9 months out of the year. I recommend The Titanic. And before you ask, yes, it does have Iceberg Lettuce in it. read more

I've ordered from here several times with my previous work group. Sandwiches are always fresh (especially the bread). Their specialty is cold sandwiches for the most part. I usually order the large fighter pilot with no sides (because it's plenty for lunch). Prices are fantastic. Cash only and prices include tax which is great! They are only open for lunch. I don't know how anyone gave this place less than five stars!!!!! Amazing prices 4.50 6 inch!!!!! I'm amazed with how fresh and soft and perfectly baked the bread was! The meat and chees and toppings on their sandwiches are well though out and perfect. I came all the way for Portland Oregon to visit family here and am very impressed!!!! Eh...I know people in Springfield love it. And I know it's a quick jump, step, and a hop away from my work--which makes it prime lunch fare for many of my co-workers--but the upcharge for a refill of soda when the sandwich isn't "OHEMGEE AHMAZING" doesn't really do it for me. Also, the "well, our hours may be this, but we may not be open during those times" also confounds me. I had an italian sandwich; it was okay. I've been recommended both the Reuben and the Veggie (with cashews, which I'd imagine is a flavor-texture adventure with their soft bread). So, I'd say give it a shot, but don't expect great things. I feel like Sub Shop is one of those places you're supposed to love if you've lived in Springfield your whole life or something. I haven't, and I don't. In fact, it makes me long even more for my dreams of Alpine in Oak Park and Fontano's on the Loop. That being said, it's one of the few non-chain sub places downtown, so if you want a quick bite, bring cash. read more

This place has some really good sandwiches. Thier meatball sub is great. The only issue I have is they only take cash but they do have an atm in the restaurant. Just inconvenient not to take cards. But well worth checking out for lunch. read more

The food here is amazing. If you're a big bread person, they make their bread and cookies homemade and they are amazing! The prices aren't terrible, I pay about $8 ever time I visit. They accept cash only and have an ATM so big deal. The owner that makes the sandwiches is an extremely nice guy as well! Parking is parallel only so heads up! read more

Tried this gem for the first time the other day, and I will absolutely be back. They have a great variety of subs at a reasonable price and offer insanely quick service. The bread is baked fresh from scratch everyday and it's light and soft. Would recommend to any sub fan. read more

This is the best sub in Springfield. I love the chocolate chip cookies. My only complaint is that I live out of town and never get to eat here anymore. I come in on the weekends and they are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. read more
