I stopped here for breakfast because it was close to the freeway on my way to Kansas City Mo. it's in a strip mall. The decor is generic cafeteria style and nothing fancy inside, kinda divy. My server seemed green and left me hanging a lot. I ordered the meat lover skillet with biscuits and gravy that came quick. The skillet had hash browns, ham, sausage, bacon topped with cheese and two sunny side up eggs. The skillet was tasty and meaty, no skimping on the meat. The biscuits and gravy were average with no sausage in it but plentiful and creamy on fresh biscuits. Overall the was good so why one star you ask. I asked my server if she could throw some ice in one of those bags under the register, charge me and save me a trip to the gas station so I can get back on the highway. She said let me ask the manager and I watched the manager instantly said no with out even considering my request, how's that for service because the place empty and no need for lots of ice at the time. I can't believe she instantly said with out any thought of helping me out. I made it a point to tell the manager in front of my server that her crappy customer service costed my server her tip, thanks for being so helpful today.

It's so good I forgot to take a picture before digging in! The chicken fried chicken is so delicious! They have a huge menu with everything made fresh in the back. The potato's are so good! The owners are amazing and are out in the floor all the time. Servers are friendly and fast.

Downhome International cookin' that's out of this world good. Specializing in All-You-Can-Eat, choose chicken, fish, etc. Had the Gyro Dinner that was deliciously huge with mountain of fries and plate heaped high of Greek salad and homemade Greek dressing. Wowzer! Wife had Philly w/Onion Rings: also a huge sandwich enuff for 2, maybe 3, or one giant appetite. Loved the flavor, moist meat, ton of onions/mushrooms/bell pepper + tomatoes. OMGoodness this is a really delicious new eatery, comfy, super quick service, these people have a good thing going so please stop by - you're sure to leave very full and very happy!

Last year new owner bought this place and change name, the servers are super nice and friendly too, this place doesn't get the recognition it should have, when I'm in town I don't remember to stop in here!the food is always good! They have special everyday! This place is easy to get to, heading north it's on the left hand side of the road, u can't miss this place, there is a big sign out front, if you haven't been give them a try

Honestly the experience was alright until our waiter smoked some weed and then leaned over us all to grab our plates. It was overwhelming.

They took my order right away and let me enjoy a ginger beer while the magic happened inside. The curry chicken dinner player came with steamed cabbage accented with some bell peppers and a side of rice. By all accounts, this was probably too much food but for the price it was an absolute bargain! This plate was loaded with so much flavor I forgot that I was sitting in the corner of a parking lot. With the palm trees swaying to my side and the sun shining, I was transported to the island myself! The amount of options on the menu is enough to make any customer happy. Whether you're looking for healthier options or that authentic jerk spice that Jamaica is known for. Great portions and options if you're on a tight budget or if you just want something outside of the Springfield norm.

It's a fantastic lunch spot and not a far drive from downtown. I've had rice bowls, the pastas, and some sandwiches. My favorite is the creamy jerk chicken pasta. The food truck is nicely decorated and has a good seating area, perfect for a nice day. The owners are wonderful people and put a lot of love into these dishes. J. Parrino's Queen City Deli -- "More Than What Meats the Eye"…read more It's no wonder why J. Parrino's Queen City Deli is more than what meats the eye. The name behind it, Joe Parrino, is a renowned St. Louis restaurateur known for blending Italian tradition with classic St. Louis-style soups, sandwiches, and pastas -- and that mix absolutely shines here in Springfield. From the outside, you might not think much of it. But as they say, IYKYK. This is definitely not a book to judge by its cover. Tucked on the east side of Sunshine, it's the kind of local gem you'll want to keep in your lunch rotation. I started with the Milo Salad, and wow -- thick cuts of salami and pepperoni, fresh cheese, crisp lettuce, crunchy homemade croutons, and a perfectly sliced hard-boiled egg. The dressing took it to another level -- creamy like Caesar but with a tangy vinaigrette twist. Honestly, I almost forgot to take a photo because I couldn't stop eating. And that garlic breadstick? Fresh, soft, and buttery perfection. Next up was the Parrino Special, their house sandwich -- prosciutto, salami, and incredibly tender roast beef stacked between garlic bread buns and topped with a house salad. Every bite was a dream: the crunch of the bread and salad with the tenderness of the meats created layers of flavor and texture that just worked. Pure happiness between garlic bread. The team here is friendly, fast, and full of good recommendations -- you can tell they care about what they're serving. If you're looking for a local spot that nails the trifecta of soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta, Queen City Deli might just become your new favorite lunch stop.

Unfortunately, I left disappointed because the food quality just wasn't what I remembered. I had been telling my wife how great the food used to be--almost like gourmet bar food--and was really looking forward to sharing that experience with her. The smash burger no longer tasted like the duck-fat burger I remembered, and the fries definitely didn't seem to be house-made anymore. They tasted more like a lower-quality frozen product, which was a letdown. On the positive side, the service was excellent. Even with the restaurant getting busy and a live band setting up, the staff stayed friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. One thing to note is that we initially arrived around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, only to find out they weren't open and was told that something came up and they didnt open until 3:00 p.m. on this Sunday. Overall, I still enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciate the great service, but I hope the kitchen can get back to the food quality that made Lindberg's one of my favorite spots in the past.
