    Chicken fried chicken

It's so good I forgot to take a picture before digging in! The chicken fried chicken is so delicious! They have a huge menu with everything made fresh in the back. The potato's are so good! The owners are amazing and are out in the floor all the time. Servers are friendly and fast.

Downhome International cookin' that's out of this world good. Specializing in All-You-Can-Eat, choose chicken, fish, etc. Had the Gyro Dinner that was deliciously huge with mountain of fries and plate heaped high of Greek salad and homemade Greek dressing. Wowzer! Wife had Philly w/Onion Rings: also a huge sandwich enuff for 2, maybe 3, or one giant appetite. Loved the flavor, moist meat, ton of onions/mushrooms/bell pepper + tomatoes. OMGoodness this is a really delicious new eatery, comfy, super quick service, these people have a good thing going so please stop by - you're sure to leave very full and very happy!

Last year new owner bought this place and change name, the servers are super nice and friendly too, this place doesn't get the recognition it should have, when I'm in town I don't remember to stop in here!the food is always good! They have special everyday! This place is easy to get to, heading north it's on the left hand side of the road, u can't miss this place, there is a big sign out front, if you haven't been give them a try

Combination#1 platter with biscuit and gravy.

We had breakfast here recently and had a fantastic meal. I ordered the combination #1 platter. With the platter you get a choice of biscuit and gravy or silver dollar pancakes. All that food for not a lot of money! It was very good and we hope to come back for more breakfast items. I am definitely interested in the cinnamon bread French toast.

Honestly the experience was alright until our waiter smoked some weed and then leaned over us all to grab our plates. It was overwhelming.

Imagine my sadness then when I realized it had olives on it. Not a big thing though, as these mistakes happen. I took it back to the window and pointed out it wasn't supposed to have olives on it. The girl I spoke with asked to see my receipt showing it wasn't supposed to have olives. I showed her the receipt and it showed 'no sig sauce' but didn't say anything about the olives. Apparently I also ordered a side of attitude without realizing it because she got all huffy and demanded to know what I wanted her to do about it. I politely told her I thought she should remake the sandwich. I thought her head was going to spin off as she grabbed the sandwich from me and threw it into the trash. The new sandwich I got looked just as good as the original minus the olives but I was almost afraid to bite in to it for fear she spit into it out of spite.

They took my order right away and let me enjoy a ginger beer while the magic happened inside. The curry chicken dinner player came with steamed cabbage accented with some bell peppers and a side of rice. By all accounts, this was probably too much food but for the price it was an absolute bargain! This plate was loaded with so much flavor I forgot that I was sitting in the corner of a parking lot. With the palm trees swaying to my side and the sun shining, I was transported to the island myself! The amount of options on the menu is enough to make any customer happy. Whether you're looking for healthier options or that authentic jerk spice that Jamaica is known for. When I say large, I mean it is massive. You need at least 2 to 3 people to eat the sandwich. Even if you took a quarter of the sandwich, you would be good to go for a meal. Often sometimes we will eat a quarter of it and take the other piece home after we split the whole thing in half. The soups here are phenomenal. They are made from scratch and they go fast. OH, and don't let me forget about the chocolate cake. It is wonderful! I try to get a piece every time I come. I believe the chocolate cake is homemade. Definitely a must have! The restrooms are well-stocked and usually pretty clean. The staff are pretty friendly,, with the caveat being that when the owner is checking you out at the register, he can be a bit prickly around the edges. Your main problem here will be finding a place to park if you go during a normal meal time. We usually park in the neighboring lot and walk over to the restaurant. Don't sleep on this place. LOUD AF on a Tuesday night with incredibly slow service…read more I like to eat in local places while we're on the road. Read about this place being historic with a beautiful bar and lovely tin ceiling. And that is all true. Walked in and could not believe how loud the single singer with an acoustic guitar was. There was a sound engineer, working a board, so he must've thought that level was OK. But you could not have a conversation at all. I was wishing for earplugs. When we first stepped in, I considered just looking at the carved mahogany bar and going somewhere else. But, we figured it should be fast and we could endure the cacophony for a short time. We were so wrong about it being fast. There was only one wait staff working that night, and she was also behind the bar. When she finally moseys over to us, she admitted she had forgotten all about us. She then took our drink order, and the drinks came quickly. But then she literally never came back to take a food order. Watched her go to all the other tables, watched her clean off the bar, watched her answer a phone call for a takeout order, and then I finally went up to the bar and asked her if we could put in a food order. Once the food was ordered it came out quickly. My husband's smashburger and candied pecan salad were both really delicious. I am a sucker for a local food item whenever I see it on the menu, and I made the mistake of ordering the cashew chicken poutine. The cashew sauce had zero flavor and was just overly salty. The chicken was fried very tough. At least the cheese curds were good. But I barely ate any of it. Nothing but regret about this choice.
