My friend and I tried Chicken Salad Chick for the first time on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I loved the menu choices! Several options but not overloaded. I had the Cranberry Kelli with a side of grape salad and my friend had the Fancy Nancy, both on croissants. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious and as expected! It was a very nice alternative to the usual fast food and was priced comparable to any other fast food I've had recently for two people. Springfield is hard for me to pick food, because I always want something that I don't eat at home, but I need the food to be good! OK, so I'm not the target audience for this place, but it really is just Panera for the elderly with way fewer options. Nothing here was bad, nor was it outstanding or notable in any way. The decor is straight out of a Joanna Gaines wet dream- or that other house restoration show that is centered in Mississippi or Alabama or whatever. read more

Wife pulled me in here because Pita Pit was closed. The "trendiness" had hit hard here! It was extremely packed, but they were kicking out food pretty fast. I'm not a huge chicken salad fan, but my wife is. She really enjoyed it, and I have to admit; it wasn't terrible, but was a bit pricey. You can get your chicken salad in a cup or on bread, and all come with a side of either soup or chips. My wife absolutely loves this place, always having a weekly lunch with one of her girlfriends. She went so many times that I became intrigued, "what's the big attraction?" So, when she asked if I wanted to join her, I agreed this time. I can see the attraction for her: A pretty feminine environment if I do say so. Mostly women pairs & quartets in attendance, mother/daughter lunches, etc. Enter & head left along the wall to the order counter. Very well-attended at lunch time with some take-out as well. There a couple of spicy chicken salad choices there: The Jalapeno Holly & the Kickin' Kay Lynee. I chose the latter in a sandwich due to the many combined flavors plus Sriracha AND Jalapeno heat. We took a number, filled our drink cups at the self-serve drink fountains, & picked our seat at a small booth. A very pleasant woman shortly brought us our chow, inquiring as to any other needs. I noticed her tidying up tables before returning to pick up another order, maintaining the attractive, fastidious environment. The rather large yet thin white bread was nicely toasted & sliced diagonally in two wedges which helped keep the chicken salad from falling out the ends. I chose the pasta salad side. A dill pickle spear sat beside all. The sandwich was excellent with ample flavor & heat, though not excessively so. I didn't care for the pasta salad but it was just a small portion. The pickle was crisp & my selection of the Watermelon Iced Tea was absolutely delicious & refreshing. It was a very nice meal: adequately filling yet not stuffing. My wife abhors the spice & heat but I can understand why she likes going to Chicken Salad Chick. Though a restaurant chain throughout the South (primarily Alabama), it has the taste & feel of a local establishment. I've returned several times with her & always enjoyed it. I now pick the Broccoli Salad side & have experimented with other chicken salad flavors, though I always return to the heat. It's a great lunch at a good price in a nice environment. I had frequented their restaurant when living in Florida. Was so excited when I saw they were coming to Springfield. This new location did not disappoint! Absolutely love the variety's of salad available, although I almost always order Fancy Nancy on a croissant with the Brussels sprout side salad. Not impressed. The 'Fancy Nancy' was advertised as being "chock full" of apples and grapes. I saw a few tiny pieces. Yes, saw the pecans. She disappointed that the chicken itself was so smushed and mealy. From how someone I know raved, I was completely expecting chunks of chicken and halved grapes, large chunks of juicy apples (gee, like I make at home)... I understand using a scoop to apply the smush to the soggy toast, but it sure makes you look cheap when it doesn't even reach the edges of the bread. Really good sandwich and soup. I had the lemon basil BLT with Chicken Tortilla soup. Bacon was crisp and tasty, chicken salad was fresh and flavorful. Cheese and sour cream were added to the soup w/o asking, so you may want to tell them to hold if you are dieting or avoiding dairy. read more

I have been to Chicken Salad Chick once before and loved their potato soup. So today I dropped in to get some take out. I got a big container of the potato soup and a small container of Fancy Nancy chicken salad. My bill came to $21.00. As the service was bagging it up, I asked him if I got a free cookie and he said no. I was a little shocked. I said "you mean after spending $21.00 here for take out I dont get a free cookie:" No. Now, I know its just a cookie but if I had ordered a lunch off the menu which would have been half the price I could have had a cookie.
