    Homemade onion rings

Hey....like I've said about this before.....this place is great for all things fried! Get a little salt on things, and the flavor pops! Is this place heart healthy - heck no! That's why it tastes great!

Be prepared to wait if they are busy! Onion rings are totally worth the wait!!! We enjoy eating here when we are in the area! The fried pickles are delicious too. Grilled chicken sandwich was DRY. My husband enjoyed the chicken fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes & brown beans.

Best local restaurant for home cooked meals. My parents always request a meal here whenever they visit from out of town. Dad ordered the all you can eat catfish. I got the chicken livers and hubby ordered a cheeseburger. Everything came out hot and cooked fresh. And don't leave without getting dessert! Lots of great options!! Our waitress was the best! Came away from supper with a new friend

    The only thing worth eating.

Don't you just hate it when you have to go to work to a job you hate? What better way to communicate this than being super rude to customers and sighing deeply every time they ask for something, until the only way they get the message is to just stop swinging by their table? Oh, here's a tip: Quit! The food wasn't any better. The chicken fingers my daughter ordered as well as the fried chicken were like super moist between the skin and meat and not in a good way. More of a slimy gelatinous unidentifiable way that just tasted wrong. The wife liked her liver and onions but I just couldn't finish my meal. Fortunately I started with a slice of pie (the way all meals should be started) so I didn't walk out starving, the pie was pretty good but not enough to make me want to go back. Last night we were hanging out with some friends who used to eat there a lot but said they stopped going as well because the food was no longer great. The owner of Rosie Jo's was a riot, but it appears that they may now be using a different food vendor or just started using cheaper products and it shows.

Eating lunch at Rosie Jo's in Ozark was an absolutely wonderful experience. I had heard great things about their fried chicken and drove from Springfield just to try it. Our waitress was very friendly and remarked that the owner, Rosie Jo was the former restaurant manager at Riverside Inn where I worked one summer many years ago. Our waitress asked Rosie Jo to come out to meet me and my family and we chatted for 10 minutes. She said that her version of fried chicken surpasses the legendary chicken at Riverside Inn because of small changes in seasoning but most importantly Rosie Jo cooks her fried chicken to order so it comes out piping hot. When food is cooked to order it takes longer but our weight was well worth it. The four piece fried chicken lunch was delicious and incredibly hot! The meal came with two side dishes, toast and a side of ice cream. I recommended that Rosie Jo raise her prices because of inflation but she said that she was very reluctant to raise prices because so many people count on her restaurant for affordable meals and several diners come there for both lunch and dinner! Once again this was a fantastic stop and I highly recommend Rosie Jo's!

They served my chili in a crusty, plastic bowl.

Food- 5/5 Atmosphere- 2/5 Friendliness- 2/5 When we arrived we were told to grab a table. All of them were filthy. On our way to sit down, a grumpy employee who didn't appear to be in a rush, also didn't mind getting and staying in my way. Floors were slick throughout the establishment. The food tasted pretty good. I will be going back to try the fried chicken. It looked amazing. My chili was served on a crusty, melted plastic bowl. I was kind of shocked they served it like that. Our waitress wasn't friendly, never checked on us, but also wasn't mean. The cooks would come out of the kitchen and they looked filthy. That said, they make good food. All to say, I will be back at least once to try the fried chicken.

Fried chicken (4-lc & 2-pc), smoked ham & beans, green beans, Texas toast, baked tates = scrumptious!

Home cooking that's quite flavorful, esp. the Fried Zucchini Sticks: large French Fry-style cuts lightly tempura battered that are served hot, firm, moist, and a delicious revelation. Chicken crispy, not overly breaded, very little salt used for those of us preferring to add our own. Tater overly baked, bland, dry. Iced tea strong, great flavor, large glass. Server was above avg when around but forgot 2 requests: napkins and drink refills (they're understaffed). Will return to sample additional entrees.

Open faced hot roast beef sandwich with beans and ice cream $10.99. Yummy

They cook your chicken fresh and it takes a little while. If you aren't in any hurry it is well worth the wait. Best fried chicken around!!!

You learn to trust the signs. A line before the dinner rush on a Saturday. That golden-hour light…read morespilling onto the sidewalk as the sun sets over Market Street. And the music..low, warm Motown drifting out the door like an invitation you'd be a fool to refuse. That's how you find Mama G's. Parking was a minor hassle. Worth it. Inside, the soul of the place hits you immediately. Family portraits line the walls:real people, real smiles, real history. The woman at the counter greets you not like a customer, but like a nephew who's finally come home for the holiday. That's not trained hospitality. That's heritage. We waited fifteen minutes. Got seated by the bathroom with a view of the road. Not ideal. But you know what? I didn't care. Because the smell coming out of that kitchen was already forgiving every small inconvenience. The menu reads like a dare. Everything "spiced correctly," they boast. No timidity here. So I went big. The Stuffed Turkey Leg: a smoked behemoth of a thing, piled high with greens, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, all crowned with cornbread crumbs. Thanksgiving on a plate. A chaotic, glorious, soulful mess. The collard greens hit first. Earthy, slow-cooked, righteous. Then the mac and cheese, creamy and clinging to the turkey meat like it belonged there. The yams? Sweet, soft, perfect punctuation. And the spices??; they danced. Bold but not brutal. I could handle it. My four-year-old, however, disagreed. The mac was "too spicy" for her young tongue. Fair criticism. Take the kid to a park next time. This food is for grown-ups! My fiancée went with the Fried Wings. Hand-breaded, Mama G's own seasoning, fresh from the fryer. The kind of fry that crackles when you bite in..extra crispy on the outside, impossibly tender within. She needed dipping sauce to cool the heat. She didn't complain once. In a city full of bland, safe restaurant food, she was grateful for something that actually tasted alive. The staff? Warm. Genuine. Our waitress heard our compliments and brought us a free side of spicy cabbage just to show off what else the kitchen could do. That's confidence. That's family. Mama G's is not a restaurant. It's a relative's house where you happen to pay at the end. It's a taste of the South, a taste of something real, a taste of lovely.

Fried pork chop is another great choice. Really good outside fry on the chop. The is cooked nice and still juicy. Meatloaf is a really good taste. A pretty dense meatloaf, that can seem a bit dryer texture. Make no mistake, it's still really good. If you like fried chicken livers...they are cooked good and a good fry taste. All the sides have been so very good. The okra, cheesy potatoes, cabbage, corn bread and the green beans. They are delivering that great southern style sides. Oh, did I say they have good sized portions? You won't dare go way hungry at this place.
