This is a cute bar café that is very patriotic. The walls ceilings and bathrooms are covered with photos, news articles, military uniforms, all sorts of paraphernalia related to the military. Our food was good. I gave it three stars because it's not anything gourmet. The staff is so friendly and took very good care of us. They knew we wanted a lower table and let us start at a high top and then move when a lower table became available. read more

Have stopped here twice lately to eat when in Springfield. Awesome food, service is top notch. Not a huge dining area. I had the Normandy French Dip. My goodness it was so delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful, the cheese was melted into sandwich and fries were good. My grandson had the catfish dinner and he said it was good. I took a small bite and it was well seasoned and tasty. My other grandson had a grilled cheese and loved it. Will come again when through Springfield. read more

This is a must try whenever in the Ozark area. Everything that I have tried has been great but especially the French Dip with their amazing fries made from whole russet potatoes. Their menu is typical of a bar and grill but tastes so much better than your typical bar and grill. The meatloaf is phenomenal, the staff is amazing and the restaurant has a lot of historical memorabilia that is fun to learn more about. read more

I really like this place. The pictures on the wall are very cool. My father was in WW2 so this has a special place in my heart.

Well it was bound to happen. Even the best stumbles once in a while. If it had been a once in a while fumble here I wouldn't be writing this update figuring it was a one off, but unfortunately they did it twice in one week! The first time was when I went for lunch and ordered the French Dip. The beef was as dry and tough as beef jerky, and the toasted roll was more like a charred roll. I was very sad. The second time in the week I ordered the fried Catfish as I really like how they do it there. It tasted super greasy and oily though, like it was fried in 40W oil. Frying Catfish is supposed to give it a nice enhanced flavor; not make me want to shave my tongue to get the taste off of it. I am thinking they may have a new cook since I was last here, but I have really enjoyed this place so I will give them a third shot at redemption before I say Cafe B-29 has crashed and burned. read more

Food was amazing, I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with aioli sauce and popper dip fries, such a good American style meal, and of coarse, I love the American veterans theme with the uniforms and fighter jets! The service here is good and the people are very nice. We like the catfish which has always been good. Saturday 7-26 we got cheesecake for $7 a piece that was no more than a frozen cheesecake from the grocery store. It was so flavorless we had to throw it out. Don't get it! It's really bad. Any military person in the area you should visit at least once or maybe three times. Food was typical sports bar food they have daily specials. The catfish was very good. The hamburgers are very good. Beware that the chicken that's on the salad is packaged chicken that wasn't so good but overall I still give it a five. read more

This is a must go place! There Our waitress was very sweet and so were the other workers walking around checking on all the guests! But as far the food goes if I could rate this a 6 out of 5 I would! It was phenomenal! Our food came out super fast but you could tell everything was made fresh to order. I personally had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries which was amazing! Food was super flavorful and this will definitely be a place I come back to visit anytime I'm in Springfield! I wanted to like this place. The food is decent. It's nothing special, just average. Service was ok. Nothing extraordinary, just there. The ambiance is cool and I love the honor to veterans, BUT, the "Kamala Lost LOL" sticker behind the counter shows their political statement. It's in a strip mall, but walk in and the Place is nostalgically decorated with all things military, including service uniforms, photos, munitions, model planes, etc. Friendly, quick service. I live in Ozark, MO and try to use local businesses. I was craving a pork tenderloin sandwich and remembered that Cafe B29 had a really good one. I drove there on a Friday night and went to the bar and asked to order a sandwich to go. They refused to take my order stating they were busy and inside customers came first. I understood I would have to wait on it. I said I just wanted a sandwich not a huge order but was told SORRY. To top it off she was kind of rude. This is fine, I went to Rosie Jo's had the best tenderloin sandwich I have had, and they will get my business from now on. Too bad customer service isn't what is used to be. read more

First time trying this place. It was packed, but service was excellent! We first tried the wings. They were really good! They were crispy, smothered in a good sauce that was full of flavor. My husband and I shared the ultimate Hawaiian chicken. I thought it might be too spicy for me, but it wasn't. It had a good balance of sweet and spicy. Our son tried the Reuben. It was a pretty good sandwich, but I wouldn't classify it as a Reuben. I thought it was very reasonably priced as well. We'll definitely be going back! read more

Went in while passing through on Valentine's Day. Was very busy but the gentleman seating us asked that another guest allow us room at bar and they obliged. Was very appreciated. Had the catfish basket which they claim is their most popular dish. It did not disappoint me. Fish had a great light breading and tarter sauce was perfect. This place was a great surprise! The only thing that got them four stars was the crazy long wait and their lack of help. It was a Wednesday evening so I was super shocked. That being said, the food was fantastic. Catfish po'boy is what got and the breading was so so good. It's a neat concept and you can tell that the people eating there loved the place. Phenomenal! Our group had the catfish, Philly cheesesteak, and the ultimate Hawaiian chicken sandwich. All were very very good! Best catfish and Hawaiian chicken sandwich we've ever had! Highly recommend! For the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, I got the chili sauce on the side so it wasn't so spicy (recommendation from waitress since I didn't want much spice). Got the slaw on the side, which was delicious! It was pretty crowded inside but they have some outside seating. We came around 11:30 on a Saturday and sat right down.
