Highly recommend! For the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, I got the chili sauce on the side so it wasn't so spicy (recommendation from waitress since I didn't want much spice). Got the slaw on the side, which was delicious! It was pretty crowded inside but they have some outside seating. We came around 11:30 on a Saturday and sat right down. Came to Cafe B-29 with family and enjoyed the company and the food!. Jill -our server -was excellent. She was friendly, courteous and patient. We ordered fried pickles and bone in wings for appetizers and they were delicious! We had a catfish dinner, a Buffalo chicken sandwich and a jalapeño popper burger at the table... all very flavorful! Kudos to the all the staff at this location. It was a great experience! The place is filled with military uniforms, pictures, stories and a sense of gratitude and pride. Thank you all! I ordered a Philly, side salad, and onion rings, THINKING the servings would be small. Boy was I wrong! Some of the best burger and fries in the area! There menu isn't expansive but what they do is incredible. Hand cut fries crispy and tender. Burgers are 1/2lb they are grilled on the flattop to perfection. The sandwich I've had "Reuben" was great. Seriously a go to spot. Parking is limited but don't worry there is room inside. read more

We were going to go to this really famous place that throws their rolls at you. When we got there it was this huge place with a line around the building. This was at 3:30 in the afternoon. I hate lines and not real crazy about people in general, so there was no way we were going to go there. So instead we found this place called the B-29 Cafe in Ozark, MO. This place is excellent. Lynnette had the catfish pony and I had the French dip. The coleslaw that covered the catfish was nice and creamy. The sandwich was quite tasty. The French dip was great. The dipping gravy was fabulous and the roast beef was fresh and abundant. The atmosphere is military based and mentioned to honor vets. It's a selection of pictures and uniforms. We like this place in Ozark. They have a nice menu with reasonable prices and a good location. If you are a veteran they offer some discounts, which is nice. Their decor is military themed. They have a bar too, with bottled beer and it looks like they can pour mixed drinks but I have not seen a drink menu. I like the jalapeño popper burger. It isn't spicy at all but the cream cheese mixture gives the burger a nice flavor. My husband has had the tenderloin sandwich and the French dip. They are both really good. I like their fries a lot. Adorable restaurant across from the tourist trap across the highway. Staff is super friendly. Stopped thru on our way south and would definitely stop again if I'm in the area. Nostalgic military themed restaurant with lots of pictures to keep you entertained while you wait. We split the nachos which were more than enough for two people, very tasty. Four of us dined there today. We loved the way the whole staff is committed to a tribute to veterans. The walls are covered with photos of local veterans and the diner is decorated with military memorabilia. And the food was great. When they say half pound burger they really mean it. Once in a great while you stumble across a place that just seems to "fit". The type of establishment where you can come in, sit down, and be comfortable just being yourself. B-29 is that place for me. It's a fairly small place, located across the street from a fairly large place, and from what I can tell, it is rapidly becoming a hangout for locals ( I guess that's me!). There's a bit of a war theme going on inside this restaurant, and I really love looking at all of the memorabilia; especially the faces of all those who served this country; I see something new every time I visit. The food here has steadily improved since the place opened some time ago. I have tried a number of their sandwiches, and I have never been disappointed. I think the Patty Melt is my favorite so far. And it's a great place to wreck your diet by destroying a plate full of fantastic homemade fries. The one consistent issue that we have experienced at B-29 has to do with service. The folks who work here all seem energetic and friendly enough, but there is a rather obvious problem with the "order of operations" which has gone unaddressed for way too long; patrons' food should be prepared and served based on when they arrive and order. On multiple occasions, we have observed others arrive and get seated long, long after us, go through the whole process, eat and leave before we have even been served. It's a strange and uncomfortable situation that leaves you a bit confused and upset when you happen to be on the receiving end, and hopefully B-29 will make the effort to fix this on their way to becoming a favorite local hangout. read more

A cool little cafe open for lunch and dinner not an extensive menu but what they have is good. The décor is awesome with old pictures And artifacts from the wars past. I went for lunch had the bacon Patty melt cook perfectly fresh meat fresh everything the fries are fresh also not frozen from a bag. The waitresses are all very friendly. We landed here (get it?) one Friday afternoon when the wait for Lambert's was an hour and our family of 4 was starving. Two of us had burgers, one hot ham and cheese and one French dip. Everything was delicious. The fries were crispy and hot, my side salad had a great blue cheese dressing and the sandwiches were delicious. My French dip was so popular we split it 4 ways and could have gone back for more. It's a quaint little cafe with great, authentic WW2 decor, wonderful service and delicious food. We ordered the kids quesadilla and fries for our toddler who gobbled up his food! The fries are wonderful! Fresh and flavorful! Then the bread pudding for dessert!
