I have visited this establishment a couple of times. It's a remodeled Pizza Hut that sits at the CC and 160 intersection in Nixa. The decor is pretty nice as they used raw materials in a way to make it feel comfortable. The service was exceptional as even when busy the wait staff was on their toes. My wife enjoyed her meals with a big smile on her face and a full tummy. What husband could ask for anything more!? I, myself, am a bit more of a picky eater so I did the basic breakfast. We hosted a baby shower here this weekend and it was a perfect fit. They were super friendly and helpful when we were working through the details of how many people we'd have and how much space we would need. They had us set up in the back, which is sort of separated from the main dining room. Our waitress was on top of it and make sure to prioritize the mom to be. We didn't get many photos of the food, but everything was reasonably priced and we didn't hear any complaints from the 20ish people who enjoyed it. First Saturday breakfast trip, good selection of items. I got the skillet with corned beef, mushrooms, onion- with 2 "not" poached, poached eggs on top- or should I saw overcooked poached eggs. Timing is off guys!! Otherwise good taste with a side of Agave hollandaise sauce. My daughter got the Eggs Benedict and liked that. My husband a skillet too- his complaint was potatoes were not crispy enough but otherwise seasoned well. We all shared a cinnamon roll- overpriced for the size, but tasty. This is such a gem of a find! The staff were super attentive and kept our drinks topped off and our table clean. Now for the food: it was heavenly! Well seasoned and salted. The creamed spinach side was extra creamy and flavorful. The pork medallions were super tender and worked amazingly well with the cream sauce and mushrooms. Enjoyed the lunch today with friends....Waitress was polite and attentive. All was good until we got the bill. I paid with cash and my friends used their cards. I paid with a $20 for a bill of $11.66 . I also gave the penny to make it easy to get change. The waitress returned with $8, not $8.35. I think that this was a case of rounding up since my bill was "over" $8.50. My first impulse was short the waitress's tip by $.35 but then realized it was probably the policy of the restaurant, not the waitress. There was no notice, verbal or written that their policy was to shortchange the customer in this situation. I abhor that policy and do not want to give my business to a restaurant that operates this way. If I had been given the correct change, it would have been my choice to give it to the waitress if I so desired. This is almost as bad as including the tip without informing the customer. $.35 is not going to "break" me, but it will keep me from returning. And who knows....maybe it is illegal too. "Under Missouri law, it is illegal to round up a transaction total--such as rounding to the nearest dollar or nickel for a charitable donation--without your explicit permission. This was our first trip to this establishment in our home town. We were definitely delighted to find a new spot for supper. Lots of homey comfort food options and I love that they have a seasonal menu. Our waitress was super polite and food came out quickly. The appetizer spring rolls were excellent! The food was definitely out of a package, and not even cooked well. The biscuit was exactly what I have gotten in the past at a cheap gas station breakfast. It was wet with no chance of being baked. The gravy was watery The potatoes (mine we're white, wife's were sweet potatoes) were tough The over medium eggs were undercooked and scorched with a weird flavor. (Obviously grill is too hot) The bacon was cheap and tough. The hollandaise sauce was out of a can, and sadly Village Inn's sauce was better. And to top it off, it was insanely expensive at $45.00 before a tip. This is my second time trying it and it got worse. Bistro 160 is a great option in Nixa, MO. We stopped in on Sunday morning. We were greeted, seated and served in moments. We had a breakfast burrito and a traditional bacon, eggs and toast breakfast. I eat here frequently due to working right down the road from this restaurant. The food here is really good. My favorites so far are the Bistro Club and the Chicken wrap. They make most of their stuff in house so it always is unique and fresh. They have great ranch dressing and many bakery items to try. We really enjoyed the Bistro board if you have a table to share. Sunday after church lunch is always a strategic puzzle! Who wants to wait 30+ minutes to jump on a table. Well, today that was my problem. I drove passed no less than 3 places on my way home from SGF to Nixa and every one of the restaurants had lines out the door. Kept on driving. As I drove into the city limits of Nixa, I noticed a new restaurant I hadn't seen before. Barely avoiding a collision and I screeched across two lanes to turn left and pull into the old Pizza Hut location. It's been remodeled and modernized into BISTRO160. Arriving at 12:30, I was worried again that the lines would be long. Chalk it up to the fact that they're so new and have yet to develop a rabid customer base, we were able to get a table within 10 minutes. As we were waiting, a very well-known local anchorman and his party passed by telling us it was quite yummy . I thought, we'll see about that. Now, I did read the two earlier reviews which weren't terribly complementary. But what I surmise is those reviewers had eaten before all the kinks were worked out and bells and whistles were put into place. After three months it appears the management and artistic crew in the kitchen have gotten everything smoothed out like a starched ironed shirt. My only complaint was that the iced water they served had a peculiar taste as if the glasses had not been fully rinsed from bleach or soap. I was informed that it was the water softener they use. I could not drink it. They better buy a filter for their tapwater faucet and only use that for their drinking water. Anyway our server was most cordial and took us through the menu since we were new. Being a lifelong brunch devotee, I was, of course, obliged to order the Eggs Benedict. At BISTRO160 they put a spin on it by utilizing smoked trout as the protein. My oh my it was a home run for my taste buds! Their English muffin was really thin which was slightly offputting and made it difficult to cut with the knife. Perhaps they were homemade but they had no lift to them. The hollandaise was perfect (read: not broken). And the eggs were cooked just to the point that the pierced golden yolk spread orange streams throughout each bite. What a pleasure. Their homemade soups were excellent but the star of the show was no doubt the homemade chocolate cake with chocolate icing. The double whammy of cocoa enveloped my senses and awakened the primordial memory of a child at his 10th birthday party! Nixa has long needed the addition of interesting cuisine to complement that of Piccolo's & Good Day Cafè. The owner is a restauranteur in this regional usually specializing in Mexican however here, at BISTRO160, it's pure Americana brunch fare @ $10-20 per person. read more

Being a new establishment, I thought they'd really be trying to please. Not so much. Unwelcoming , indifferent staff, boring atmosphere. Soup was lukewarm, sandwiches were skimpy and bread too buttered. $3.50 for hot tea?! Bearded cooks didn't appear to be wearing beard nets. Heard another customer voice dismay over the taste of the hash browns. That all said, the salad was fresh, the ranch was homemade, and I believe the pickles may have been too. Stopped by for late breakfast one weekend and was not impressed. Place was fairly busy with larger groups/families, but not full. Food was ok but uninspired and not well seasoned. Rather bland. Service was fair, but server was new and sweet so no complaints. My biggest complaint was the coffee and water is...Nixa water. We even asked for new water glasses thinking they had detergent in them, but no, it was the water. Only had half of my coffee because it was not good.
