The food came out super quick and was hot. The pomme frites are more homemade chips, but were delicious (I definitely recommend getting them loaded). My crepe was savory and delicious! The chicken on the poulet perdu was crispy, moist, and tender! It paired beautifully with the syrup and French toast. I did feel that the prices were a little high and it took almost 10 minutes after being seated before our server came to the table. This place is most known for their crepes. We tried the steak and egg crepe, which I found a little too hearty for breakfast. I would recommend more for a lunchtime option. It was still tasty! But could use maybe a vegetable in it. We also tried the funky money crepes which were a sweet contrast!! Certainly very sweet but if you like Nutella, this is for you! We also tried the Crepe Loraine which was the most balanced crepe we tried. A nice mix of protein and veggie. And finally we tried the avocado toast which was our favorite menu item of the morning. The Aviary is a very cute, very popular, very busy place during brunch hours on Saturday. They have a nice, varied menu with breakfast and lunch items. I opted for one of their savory crepes, the black and bleu one with a side of French onion soup. I picked wrong. My soup was room temperature, so I didn't get that nice, cheese pull from the bit of cheesy toast in the middle. It was flavored nicely, but again -- not hot like soup should be. The same could be said for my crepe. Room temperature, fairly tasty, but the crepe was thick and more pancake like -- it kind of messed up the flavors inside. My friend got the French onion soup and was also disappointed. We split a salted caramel crepe for desert. It was also cool and a bit thick, but tasty overall. Wasn't a great experience, but I'll probably come back and try the rest of the menu. Everyone else's food looked good! read more

We made an online reservation for 10 to celebrate my sister's birthday and arrived on time, only to be "greeted" with the news that our reservation had been canceled and given to someone else. The front-of-house staff were impressively rude, offering zero apology or explanation, and then told us we would need to wait another 45 minutes. I had the Turkey and bacon panini with pomme friets (thin sliced potatoes) the sandwich was average it had to much garlic aioli on it and 1 piece over cooked bacon on it, the frites were cold so I had to send them back . My uncle had the Phily steak sandwich and said it was very disappointing due to the meat being mostly fat .One thing to note we had a large party and Amy table over 6 people they automatically add a 20% gratuity to the tickets. Their menu had changed since I last visited but found my way to the breakfast smashburger and it was awesome. Two patties with bacon pieces and avocado on the bottom with cheese topped with an egg. The only con was it was a little hard to eat between the burger sliding around on the avocado and the yolk running everywhere. Visited for lunch on a recommendation from someone we met at dinner in Rolla a few days ago. Cute set up inside and our server was wonderful. She was friendly, quick and helpful. Two of us didn't really enjoy our meals and the other was ok. We started with the goat cheese and honey board. Comes with 6 or 7 pieces of crunchy bread, goat cheese, strawberries and blueberries all drizzled with some honey. It was fabulous. For lunch, I ordered The Venetian as a pasta dish and the server told us about their Tuscan sauce so I added that. It was only ok for me - the onions were supposed to be caramelized and they definitely weren't. Caramelized onions make a promise that wasn't met in this dish lol. Part of the dish was cool to warm and the other side of the dish was hot. It was weird. I mixed it all up and ate about half of it (Randy ate the rest - he really liked it). Randy ordered the Cali Club panini style with sourdough and he liked it but the bread was soggy. Our daughter ordered the French dip and said it wasn't great. We all had Caesar salad sides. Mine was somewhat wilted or warmed (? I ate it, but didn't expect it to not be crisp lettuce), another one was all crispy and the third had some wilt but mostly crispy. The dressing was delish!
