We dropped in to this excellent little coffee shop today. El Cafecito is such a charming place to grab seriously good food and great coffee. My husband and I split a latte and he ordered the tortas ahogadas and I had the chichaloco burrito. Both dishes were phenomenal. Excellent service and experience. Can't wait to go back. read more

I'm always on a look out for small non-chain places when I travel, so naturally I had to check this place out while in Missouri. Huge plus for me: they offer a huge variety of non-dairy milks (oat, soy, almond, coconut, rice, and another one I forget...). The flavors are nice and the espresso is smooth. The people were kind. Loved the decor and the vibe. They also have these cute reusable clay mugs, though sadly I was in a rush, so had to get my coffee to go. My churro latte with soy milk was great and my companion also enjoyed his decaf lechera latte. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

The coffee is decent, but for the customer service it's a no for me. The pricing on the outside drive thru has not been updated in over a month (per a worker inside). They will neither let you know while you are ordering through the drive thru, put a sign out that says prices have gone up, nor acknowledge that they have upped their prices when you get to the window to pay. They also will not honor the price you see. If you ask about the price change at the drive thru window they will just say "ya, our prices went up." No effort goes into informing you before you pull around or honoring the price you see when ordering. I don't know of any other coffee place that charges for cream in your coffee either. So, heads up if you get a coffee with cream you will get charged $ .50 for a "splash of cream." I went over a month ago and gave it a break because they were rude/cold inside and kind of unprofessional having family or close friends and kids running around the counter and chatting. I went back recently hoping they had fixed their pricing issue or customer service but sadly nothing has changed. I want to like this place because the concept is cute and the culture is appreciated , but the business aspect needs some fine tuning. Updating your pricing on the drive thru and having a little more care when dealing with customers would go a long way and make people want to come back. read more

I've been wanting to come here forever and finally made it. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the chilequiles with red sauce and a churro coffee, hot. The red sauce is divine and the dish was cooked perfectly! A crispy bottom fried egg topped it off. Delicious side of beans. SO GOOD!! The churro coffee was also amazing. Not too sweet and extra hot. Loved every bit of my meal! I got it to go as all the seats in the tiny shop were taken. No shame eating this in my car. I grew up in Arizona and am always seeking an authentic taste of home. The staff members are friendly and professional; the interior is prim; and they offer substitutions, such as dairy-free milk, for those with food allergies. Plus, it is owned and operated by persons of Latin American ancestry. Their staff is bilingual, and they even offer merchandise with Spanish messages. As someone who grew up in a liposome of Bolivian culture in the USA, I sometimes feel homesick in my home country. My third visit. El Cafecito opened Feb 1. I originally thought it was a coffee house and went twice to have specialty coffee drinks-- and then discovered they have Latin dishes that are incredible--nothing like it in Springfield, MO. Today I had Tortas Ahogadas and my wife had Tacos Dorados- exceptional. The place is very small- only 16 people' It surely need to expand. The building and signage is non-desript so make sure you have the address- North of Battlefield Rd. South of Sunshine. The owner/ chef is from Guadalara. I'll be back very soon. read more

I can say that is the best churro I have ever had! Very sugary though! Even though it is a slightly smaller place there is plenty of seats inside and outside. The service is very good if you order outside they will bring it to you and everything is very fresh. I highly recommend! read more

My wife is always singing this place's praises. They are near my house, but I had yet to try them, until my wife brought some home the other day. She got me an Iced Horchata Latte and some type of Carnitas thing. Both were very delicious and unique, and something I will need to partake in more of going forward. They were excellent. read more

This place is a total gem, their pulled pork tortas are divine, with refried bean spread, pickled cucumbers and red onions, tomato soup, tortilla chips and side of hot sauce. The bread alone is delicious. Order some homemade conchas, they usually have 3-4 rotating flavors. read more

We stopped by on a cold, snowy day and were so happy we did. Very quaint (capacity 16 inside) and cozy, with bar top, side table and bench seating. Too cold to sit outside. Great mix of customers with families, laptop users and couples. Service was excellent and not pushy. We were able to enjoy a relaxing low key lunch without being rushed, but can imagine it's very packed when it's not during holiday season. We had the Tacos Dorado and Chichaloco Burrito, which were excellent. Perfectly proportioned with great flavor and spices. The burrito will give you more bang for the buck if you're hungry. Two Mexican mochas were fantastic and can't wait to try the other flavors. The vanilla churros were delicious. The food is delivered hot and fresh. Drive through was busy also.
